"Somber I...I'm so sorry *Sob* I wish there was something I could have done...But I just screwed everything up, You told us all not to talk to the zebras and we did anyway. Its my fault."  Star lay her head on his shoulder and wiped the tears from her eyes. "Lets go home."

 

Somber got up with Star, a wing extending to hug her, as they walked off the boat. It felt weird being on solid land again.

 

((OOC: So, how is the carriage thing going to work? We all have our own carriage, or is it like one, big carriage for everyone? Just wondering.))

After about thirty minutes Stacy regreted leaving as she had. If Rose still wanted her as a friend then damit she was going to be her friend. Stacy rushed back to Roses hut and waited for her to get back. She also wanted to have a small talk with Spark as well.

Bright Spark smiled at the comfort of Rose "don't worry rose. No matter what happens, i promise to be by your side Even in death." He felt happy, despite Stacy. She was just one toi get mad easily, that was understandable. Bright Spark put his arm out as an invitaition. "so, how would you like to go home?"

Rose smiled softly, and took Spark's extended hoof. "Thank you, Spark." Intertwining her tail with his, they made their way off the ship, and into Canterlot. Looking up at the castle, she thought she saw a dark blue figure, with a starry mane, in one of the high towers, looking down at them and nodding approvingly.

Star trotted to one of the carriages with somber and they both climbed aboard. "This nightmare is finally over."  She hugged him again then looked out the window. "I could really use a shower...Diamond is going to freak out when she hears what happened. You will really like her, She is super generous, and...We have been talking about having a colt move in with us for a while. I love you Somber." She lay her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes.

Somber just stared out the window... Star's nightmare may be over, but not Somber's... He couldn't get rid of the facts... He looked to Somber, and cuddled next to her.

 

"I love you too... I really hope nothing comes between us... We seem like the perfect couple, do we not?"

Star nodded. "We really do. And Somber...Id like to give you something...I know your guitar was left behind and, I wanted to get you a new one." She smiled. "Is there anything we need to pick up before we get to the house ?" She asked, Looking into his eyes.

As bright Spark walked to the train, he noticed a burning smell. He looked up and realised that his fedora had short circuited. Sighing, he left it on. Sure his hair may spontaniously combust, but he didnt want to distract himself. When they arrived at the train, Bright Spark could see there was an empty carrige. once again he kept his formality "ladies first" he said, bowing.

Rose smiled at Spark (Such a gentlecolt), and entered the carriage. Entering and sitting down, she gazed out the window at the cityscape of Canterlot, lost in thought. Could there have been a way to choose without upsetting the other, after all? She couldn't help doubting herself, and although she stood by her choice, wished with all her heart that there could have been another way.

"You... would do that for me?", Somber asked, his eyes now beaming. He hugged her especially tight for this, and kissed her a good number of times. "Thank you... Is this your friend's house? Uh, wasn't her name Diamond, you said?", he said, as he looked to see a house coming up in the distance.

Bright Spark smiled and went into the carrige. He sat on the chair nearest to rose. it felt, almost, empty. and lonley. Things should have bben happy and yet he felt a little lonley. And he could see that rose was staring into the distance, thinking of something. He shuffled a little closer "your thinking about your desision arn't you?"

Moonbeam walked beside Firecracker and got onto the train with him. They sat together, waiting for the train to leave.

 

"Firecracker, when we get home, do you want to visit my cottage? And then, in a few days, maybe we can have a get-together with all of our friends from the trip," she suggested. "Even if we missed Hearth's Warming, we may have made it in time for the New Year, so we can still celebrate."

 

Outside the window, Moonbeam saw snow flurries beginning to fall. She smiled.

Scamps left the ship with Airy, and boarded their carriage. She rested her head against his shoulder for the majority of the carriage ride and held his hooves in hers. She didn't say anything; there was nothing to say, considering that the cruise had never actually happened except for a night....one night.

 

 

Scamps finally decided to say something. She turned her head to look at Airy. "The one night we had together...on rhe cruise, before it sank, when we sang and sat on the moonlit dock...that night was perfect. Thank you, for that."

Rose nodded slowly. "I don't regret my choice. Not at all." She looked at Spark, eyes lingering on him happily, then to look back out the window for a moment longer, before tearing her gaze back away from it. Now looking Spark in the face again, Rose's stress was obvious. "I didn't want to push her away. I... I just lost the best friend I ever had." She buried herself into his shoulder, fighting back tears again.

Airy smiled. "I have to thank you. Your singing sounded so wonderful, it touched my deepest feelings, and... and the whole song felt like we were doing it as one pony. If I ever had had any doubts that you are my chosen very special somepony, I lost all of them in the last days. And... I'm very sorry the cruise didn't turn out half as good as planned after all. Who could even have expected the ship to sink?"

Bright Spark kissed her forehead "Don't worry. Even Stacy can feel sorry. Why i bet she is waiting right now to apologise for bieng rational." What Bright Spark was saying was what he believed. "she may get angrily easily, but Even she has to feel bad by now."

Scamps smiled back at him. "It's not your vault. It's nopony's fault. Nopony k ew the ship was going to sink, and it sounded like it was a good plan beforehoove. And, something amazing happanened because of it..." Scamps said, trailing off. She was referring to their engagement. She wondered if it would have happened if the ship hadn't sank.

 

The carriage stopped at Airy's house, and Scamps held Airy's hoof for support as she climbed out and ushered him out to join her.

Airy climbed out of the carriage right after Scamps and put himself in his provisorial wheelchair. "Remind me of that I need to get a new wheelchair soon. This one isn't even close to like my old one. But... I wouldn't be better off without that one... Well, not important right now. All that matters is that we have arrived at home and are safe again."

He unlocked the door. "After you, Scamps. Get yourself comfortable, I'll get us something for dinner. Is there something special you'd like?"

Scamps shrugged. "After living off plants and fruit for a week, anything's fine with me," She walked in and brushed against him. He was warm, and after arriving home, everything seemed normal...but perfect. She never realized how much she had missed home. Scamps fluttered over to the couch and sat down as she waited for Airy to get dinner ready.

Rose smiled up at him. He was so reassuring... She hoped Stacy wasn't feeling too bad, though. She wondered if she'd ever see her again. She'd have to stop by Little Hop's sometime to talk...

 

"Spark... Would you like to stay with me tonight? My house isn't big, but... "

 

She didn't want to be alone. Not anymore.

Star nodded and hugged Somber back. "I want to be able to make music with you...And well, Its kinda my fault your guitar was left behind, I left it on the beach to dry out and I forgot to tell you about it...I'm sorry."

 

After a few minutes in the carriage they moved onto the train which set out to Ponyville.

"That's the house." She answered, As the train stopped and they climbed out of the carriage. "I cant wait to have a shower." She took Somber by the hoof and lead him to the front door. The second they opened it up a purple alicorn came running over and practically knocked Star off her hooves. "STAR...YOU NEVER CALLED. I was so worried about you, I was thinking the ship sank of some-Why are you all dirty ?" Diamond stood up and stared at Star. "Also. Who's your friend." She said, looking at Somber. 
"Nice to see you too Diamond." Star stood up and let out a small giggle. "This is Somber...He is our new roommate, Also my special somepony." Star smiled as Diamond let out a squeal of delight. "Come in, Come in." She moved out of the way and let Star and Somber walk through the door.

 

 

(OOC: I think we should just skip until after Star and Somber have settled in...Then we can just finish up and make our lasts posts.)

Somber was a bit surprised by this alicorn coming to greet them both, blushing a little when Star said he was her special somepony. As they both went in, he was surprised by the house's interior, as he saw Star run off towards the bathroom for her shower. He sort of felt awkward just standing there...

Star kissed Somber on the cheek and trotted off to the bathroom.

 

Diamond smiled at Somber. "Make yourself at home Somber. Would you like a cup of tea ?" Diamond poured a couple mugs of tea and sat down in the kitchen. "So how did you and Star meet ? I have been telling her that she needs to go and find somepony special...She always tells me that she doesn't think she is pretty...And I would always tell her its silly and the second she gets out of this house the colts will be crawling all over her...I'm rambling." She blushed. "So where is all your luggage, What happened on the ship ?"

And of course, the minute that Star leaves him, he becomes the shy one again... He looked to Diamond, trying to say what he could. But where to start? The shipwreck? The kidnapping? The eruption? He bit his lip, looking to Diamond again.

 

"It... It's a long story...", he said as he accepted his tea. He then proceeded to tell her everything, from his past to now.

Diamond lip quivered and she wiped a couple tears from her eyes, Then she leaned over and hugged Somber. "Somber...If it wasn't for you, I don't think Star Song would be ok. You saved her so many times and I will never be able to thank you enough." She let go and smiled. "Welcome to the family Roomy." 

 

Just then, Star trotted out from the bathroom, Drying herself off with a towel. "Hey Somber, If you want to take a shower you can, I'm all done." She smiled and sat down at the table next to Diamond.

 

Diamond hugged Star tightly and said. "I am so happy you are ok Starry...You and Somber."
