Rose could hear Stacy inching away from her, but she didn't care. Not at the moment. She looked, and saw, once again, that Star's wing was bending at a funny angle. Looking Star straight in the half-responsive face, Rose warned, "I'll try and help you; I think your wing might be broken. I can bind it for you with strips from your dress, but it'll hurt while I do it. You're going to be okay." she promised.

Bright Spark turned his head "wow rose, a little harsh. if somepony wants to kill themselves you talk themout of it, not back them up by making them feel horrible about their desision. take me for example. all my friends no longer care about my existance, and the ones that do are either in a coma or dead. the three exeptions are a friend and her daughter. and some alicorn in another country. apart from you guys im alone."

Airy had been able to heave himself partially up onto the boat. Scamps reposistioned herself so that she pinned him down and would not fall back. Then, Airy collapsed and went limp again. Scamps pulled him inside the boat, ad looked at him. She poked him with her hoof, trying to wake him up.

 

"Airy? Come on, Airy wake up! Come on, wake up, wake up!" She cried as she shook him. "Din't be dead, please don't be dead..."

 

She noticed his flank rise and fall in pattern. 'He's breathing...' she thought. She then realized that the reason that he was unconcious was that he was cold.

 

'He needs warmth....'

 

Scamps curled herself around Airy's body, trying to heat him up. "You'll be okay." She whispered. "We're together now, and that's all that matters. I won't let anything happen to you."

Star looked up at Rose and nodded quietly. "Ok." She muttered, drifting in and out of consciousness. "Its all my fault... If I had told Somber that we should get in this lifeboat instead of the one that fell... He could have survived." She thought, Looking up at the big black clouds.

All you could hear was a small crashing of waves at the shoreline, as the ocean had thrown whatever it had picked up onto the small beach. Including Somber.

 

He started to regain feeling, touching sand, hearing the waves.... He slowly got up, immediately choking on seawater that he had consumed. Where was he? What happened? Wait. The ship... It was sinking... He fell from the boat... Somepony was calling out to him... Somepony....

 

"STAR! WHERE ARE YOU?! STAAAAR!", he cried out.

"I'm sorry if I offended you-" Rose tore a strip from Star's ruined dress "-but now is really not the time-" She tore another off "-and in my experience-" another strip of soaked cloth "-sometimes it takes a slap to the face to realise that you could be so much more in life."

 

Rose clearly showed no remorse for her treatment of Stacy.

"And I care about your existence. I care for all of you. I'm just doing things as best I can. And I'm doing them my way."

 

Rose began to bind Star's wing to her body, to hold it still. All she could do right now was make sure it didn't move around and cause more damage. "You're going to be okay," Rose told her kindly.

[Marathon 562]

Stacy didnt dare move from her spot in fear that rose would lash out again. She looked down at the marks on her body. She couldnt believe that rose had done that to her, that she could hurt her like that. She looked back up at her as she began to help star. She didnt hear what rose said but she knew she was talking about something. Yet even though she had scared her, stacy felt no change in how she felt about rose, she just needed to be more careful next time. Stacy curled up into a ball keeping one eye on rose just incase.

Moonbeam sat next to Firecracker, curled up in the lifeboat as it floated along when suddenly she spied a familiar sight. "Rose! Star! Stacy!" Their boat had come very close to their own. Moonbeam reached out a hoof towards her friends across the small patch of ocean. "You're okay!" Moonbeam exclaimed, wiping the tears from her face. She called to them loudly, trying to get their attention.

 

Upon closer inspection though, she noticed that they all didn't look quite right. It couldn't have been just the boat. Something else was wrong.

Morning stars guards began to look for his body , the finally found his body drifting so they placed him in a casket , they decided to tell rose who always seemed so close to the prince that they recovered his body and they were handing it over to her.

He turned back to the front. "no rose, you havent offended me." he said. there was no tone anymore. he was just rowing, forward. trying to get as far away from the ship aswell but just... forward. He remembered back to his godchild. *how is she doing?* Bright spark thought to himself.

(OOC: Ah shoot, now we need someone to double up and do a colt, too. That was a undramatic death, though, although that's partially becasue I started on page 42-ish today. Anyways, someone double up, and I think we can introduce them as a native of the island Somber's on.

Somber was starting to freak out even more. He didn't know where he was or how he got here... But he promised to be with Star the entire time... He was starting to tear.

 

"STAAAAAAR! CAN YOU HEAR ME?! STAR?! PLEASE ANSWER!"

 

He was about to try and fly there, but once he jumped up, he immediately fell to the ground. He looked back to see that his wings were waterlogged... Soaked to the base... He had to dry them off somehow...

The pictures in front of Airy's eyes blacked out, and seconds later the last bit of energy left his muscles.

That's it. I'm so sorry, Scamps...

 

When Airy reached the brightly shining light at the end of the tunnel, he felt something warm touching his coat and muffling him. He was able to see again, and what he saw made him very sad.

It was Scamps who tried to warm him.

"Scamps... I'm so sorry I didn't survive... What happened to you? I didn't want to see you that soon after I died..."

As soon as Airy spoke, Scamps sat up. Sure, he sounded a bit vrazy, but that didn't matter to her.

 

"Airy! You're alive!" She cried. She hugged him tightly, not ever wanting to let go. She didn't want to lose him again. She looked up and saw the sun shininng. 'It's already been a whole day?' She thought.

 

"Okay, usually these things come with a shrvival kit and a bunch of food, so do you want to come hrlp me rummage through the stuff and find oars?" She asked, completely unaware of the missing wheelchair.

The royal guard saw Rose in the prince's life boat so they flew towards her. and spoke."Ms, you and the prince were pretty close so would you like to lay him to rest in canterlot"? They couldn't leave his body out here in the ocean to be eaten by the fish so they wanted him to be at peace.

Stacy finally got the courage to get up. She looked at the water again but didnt attempt to jump in again. Instead she went up to rose and sat beside her but didnt look at her. Stacy was silent for a few seconds before she spoke. "Rose.....i....im sorry i tried. Youre right, im not worthless." She then kissed rose on the cheek, got up and went back to her spot.

Firecracker was sitting in the lifeboat, floating lifelessly on he ocean, the black night had made it hard to see, making it unsure for Firecracker to find any land. He also got attention that Moonbeam saw her friends after she alerted him.

Rose was done binding Star's wing by the time Moonbeam arrived. Rose saw her face, gleeful upon seeing her friends, fall as she saw something was wrong. And Rose figured they did look pretty awful. What with Star, soaked through to the bone, shivering on the ground with a ruined dress and wing bindings, Stacy huddling in a ball at the back of the boat with thornmarks, Spark working himself to death trying to row the boat by himself, and herself, also soaked through to the bone and with a blotchy, and possibly swollen back leg, Rose wasn't surprised by the look of surprised horror Moonbeam was showing off.

 

Rose wanted to move to explain what was going on, but too much was happening; Morningstar's royal guards showed up, proclaiming his death, and Stacy had apparently forgiven her. She was overwhelmed again.

 

Taking a deep breath, she knew now was not the time to freak out. Apparently, in Morningstar's absence, she was in charge. "I'd be happy to, if we ever can find our way back to Canterlot," she said. "If you lot can fly, maybe you should find us the closest land so we don't starve to death on these boats."

 

Looking at Stacy, she said, "It's okay." Her voice was kind this time. "Do you think you can explain to Moonbeam what happened? I can't move." She looked sadly at her leg, which was now swelling, as well as purple and blotchy.

Airy shoke his head to wake up again. He wasn't dead? He still was alive? Well, regarding the fact that Scamps held him in her fore hooves and nearly broke his ribs, this seemed to be a legit explaination.

"Scamps... I... i am alive? You... saved my life... again..." His last words were interrupted by loud coughs.

"Well, now that I didn't drown, it really would be too bad if I cought a cold now and died from that." He finally was able to smile again.

When Scamps let him go, Airy just fell onto the boat's floor. He was totally exhausted and freezing. "Scamps... do you have a blanket here? It's so cold..."

Scamps nodded as she rumaged throught the hatch she opened in the boat. She found some cans of food, and flare gun for signaling, a map, first aid kit, and finally, a blanket. She brought it out, and then carried it over to Airy, laying it overtop is cold body.

 

That's when she noticed what was missing.

 

"Um, Airy....you wouldn't happen yo know where your wheelchair is by any chance, would you?"

Morning stars guards nod there head."Alright, you stay here with this group while we find land nearest to here make sure they stay warm do this for Morning star men"!  The private stayed fortunately  for him Morning star tough him a warming spell so he cast it to keep them warm at least for awhile. while the rest started looking for some land.

'STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!", Somber tried crying out for one last time. It was no use. Star was nowhere near...

 

He sat on the sand and started crying... Cried as hard as he can... He was so busy crying that he didn't notice a whole bunch of tribal ponies circling him. Once he looked up, one of the ponies seemed to be holding a stick and some rope.

 

A scream from Somber was the last thing heard from him...

Stacy was about to fall asleep when she heard rose speak to her. She looked up at her. "Y-yeah...i think so." She got up and slowly made her way to the front of the boat to talk to moonbeam. "Uhh, Moonbeam!" She yelled out. "Were not so good over here. Star broke her wing and Rose injured he leg. Me and Spark are fine for the most part." She said the last sentence in a shaky voice as she knew that she wasnt fine. She was still pretty freaked out by Rose and she had a craving for more alcohol but she didnt have any. So instead she waited for Moonbeam to reply.

The wheelchair?

Airy looked around the boat, but there was no sign of his wheelchair. But even if it meant that he wasn't able to walk all on his own any more, this didn't really matter to him now. Once they were saved, he'd get a new one.

"I have no idea... But even if it's lost, it's just an object. I'd rather lose all my instruments, my wheelchair and everything I've got than you." He still was freezing and wrapped himself into the blanket he had over his body.

"I still have you."

Star's ears perked up. "Did you guys hear... Never mind." She muttered, Laying her head back down on the hull of the boat.*It was just your imagination...He's gone." She thought, a tear falling from her eye.

 

(OOC: Are these tribal ponies Zebras ? Because that... Would be awesome.)
