planning To start a new RP

I wanted to make a new RP that would last long and people would enjoy at the same time. I want you to list things you like in a RP and what will keep you in a RP so i can make the perfect plot for us to RP in. Once thats done i will make a new topic and we will start to fill slots.

Uhhuh.... hmm... i thought this would be more appealing to people... dangit, why do all my idea's stink? Bleh.

Uh... not exactly what i meant. I mean you should say what you like in a RP, what styles are you interested in, and what keeps you there?

As the creator of many successful and large RPs....

crazy characters and lots of drama.

I'm liking this idea!

I've always loved Roleplays like that. But I like to stir in a bit of comedy into the mix of it all!

So, I think a roleplay with some romance, comedy, drama, and even a bit of violence would be something I could get into. :3

Agree with that. You know, we would like something which is more interesting. Maybe an adventure of many OCs with different personalities (Make a chaos or whatever), filled by some romances (OCs can start to like each other during the adventure), and for me personally, some team conflicts (OC A hate OC B, or has to make a decision about their fate, like sacrifice <<< I like that one).

Before we start adding in we need a plot idea, a setting, threat. We can have 8 or 6 main characters, 4/3 female and same with male. For the villain we can either make it small things in a big group, or one powerful enemy. I prefer one powerful enemy over multiple. But for the plot, I will need your guys idea's on what to do for it.

Well, yes. There must be a main protagonist (must be one, but may have six friends), you maybe?

The main protagonist wants to achieve something (get a peaceful life, revenge, save the beloved one, insert your drama idea here) but there's someone (antagonist) who wants to thwart the protagonist's dream.

Aye, the main protagonist may seems to be "too worthy" this way, but come on guys, haha.

Well, for example. An old villain maybe? Discord return and bring chaos to the protagonists life in Ponyville? Then the protagonist wants to achieve his dream of peaceful life by defeating Discord? During his journey he meets some new friends who would help him? The romance begins, conflicts, sacrifice, finally reach discord, temporarily defeated, dark hours, but turn wins.

The villain and shipping is up to you guys. I would like to join.

What the hay, I am a noob to RPing, but I guess we all need to start somewhere, don't we? With that said, I'd like to toss my OC into this, if you'd be willing to accept him. He's linked in my sig, and if this RP evolves into an adventure, I think he'd fit in well.

There's a "Discord Return" RP already, but they accept no more ponies for their RP. It can be good for some reasons (For thou who wants Discord Return RP but have no place).

Sombra? Nah, I think we have not enough information about him.

Nightmare Moon? Pretty good, but we need some reason why Luna return to the dark side.

Changelings? Aye, changelings are interesting. It can fill the romance side with an interesting effect, get it? A changelings disguise as an OC, at fist to spy, but fall in love with one of the main cast, awwww yeeeaaaa. Sorry, I'm crazy about romance.

Evil OC? Might break the Alicorn rule, but fine, hehe.

And I will leave my idea for you guys to discuss.

 Changelings, perfect! That would definitely leave a lot of space for crazy plot twists. I'm crazy about romance too, in a romance RP right now.

 

Here's an idea I thought up of off the top of my head:

 

Just prior to the events of the Crystal Empire, Queen Chrysalis, in her weekened state, sends out a spy by the name of ___ to find a group of typical ponies living in Equestria and find out about their culture and possibly loopholes for taking over Equestria like they once attempted to. Then the changeling falls in love, bla bla, fun stuff.

 

Do you guys think this is cool? I don't plan on this being the initial set up, but it's a start in planning out the plot.

My idea had changelings, too. XD Basically, Queen Chrysalis' second in commands teamed up with Avarice to take over Equestria. The changelings with the help of Avarice manage to defeat the Princesses and impersonate them so that the ponies don't know anything's wrong!

Well, I've experienced many RP and most of them end up with the same problems.

 

These are the problems why RP dies quickly:

 

When you create an RP, it is better if there is many adventures in it. As in, do not make an RP for example about a zombie invasion and do not keep the adventure the same because if it takes about 4 months just for only the invasion, that would be boring. . What I mean is, make an RP about Equestria's Problems which makes it fun, maybe 2 months RPing on this problem and 2 months on the next problem because it is problems in Equestria which is many. When there are many problems, there are more adventures and it'll be fun.

 

The second thing is, do not make the adventure last too long, put an ending to it when possible, just do time skip or something like that. After a long big adventure, do a little story break like the normal MLP episodes. Maybe your OC did a mistake or fights a bad guy or something. 

 

Story: The normal episodes are the normal stories after your adventure.

Adventure: Adventures are like the ones like when Discord came back, saving the Crystal Kingdom etc.

 

Make something new, maybe you OC visits the future, that is probably what people really want. The Adventures should NOT always be about fighting, you can make it like a puzzle or strategies type to make it more interesting. 

 

Have a very good title! If you have a boring title like bad day that is not even capitalized. When you make an RP, it is better to have a long(not too long) or short (not to short) title. The first letter of the title has to be in capital letter. When designing the RP, use special fonts and do not make spelling mistakes, put some photos and plots on the story so people would think that you worked hard on it. You need to make it clear and not boring.

 

That is all I know and I bet some people would know more. Good luck on making a good RP.

We need a reason why the Queen send a spy to study their culture, I mean a deeper reason. We know that the Crystal Ponies are filled by joy right? Maybe the changelings think that it's a good source of love or similar to that? We need more plot twist as well (Thanks for the advice sir Shadow Star). Not only changelings...Maybe one of the OC keeps a secret about something, which may take the team to another adventure or another villain takes advantage while the team is adventuring to solve the changelings problem.

As for the snowball affect idea, I've got something. The changeling arrives and gets in good with some sort of posse in Equestria. They get one of the ponies of it to become less trusted among them, and eventually exiled. That pony somehow finds out about the changeling, but the others don't believe him.

The thing is, I don't really want to plan out the entire roleplay before we start it. The point is for us to watch as the plot moves around with our writing, not to follow a strict, pre-written story.

Right, sorry, hehe. I was too spirited. I'm a writer, and I'm used to finish a story before write it, so...you know.
Allright then, so what's the main idea? Changelings? I don't have any special somepony to play in Romance.

Hey, that's what I said, haha. If it has some grimdark, I would like to have a heavy loss. I don't mind it if my character die. We need more tragedy, haha. One of the OC sacrifice him/herself to save the beloved one, betrayal, awwww yyyeeeaaaa.
