gaming Xbox 360 e74 fix?

I live in Ohio. Alright so my Xbox had an E74 in 2011, and we got it fixed for $50. Then I got it again recently, and it cost $60. By recently, I mean like a few weaks ago. So I turn it on and start play MW2, and the graphics start going bad. I turn off my Xbox and turn it back on, and the error happened again. I was pissed because I just got it fixed for $60. So, should I take it back, go find a new guy, or just buy a new Xbox? (Mines an 07 Pro)

An Xbox? Well that's your problem silly! Let me tell you my prejudice viewpoint on this whole thing: get a ps3, or even better; a gaming computer. You see, this can be solved with a simple mathematical formula, it goes like this:

computer > ps3 > xbox

Were as referencing to the over all "graphics and memory and other cool stuff"

But this whole thing gets flipped around if you want a more "cheap" product; observe:

Xbox > ps3 > computer

Were as cheap is used as a relative term, not as in "fragile" or "weak", or "low in price" but as "cheap".

If a good computer is to expensive and you don't want to pay for multiplayer features and have an "out of date" product, then:

Ps3 > Xbox

(Computer is left out of the equation as you minus it from the list of possibilities, see below)

Options = ps3 + Xbox - Computer

(Were as other systems such as wii and Atari's are left out by default)

If you still don't understand, then I will tell you something; I have no idea what an E74 is, and I suggest you just ask for a refund or something, because I have no idea what I'm talking about.

the newer ones are better, alot less errors. i replaced my last one after a RRoD issue, and ive had the new one for like 3 years without any issues, except that the drive tray sticks sometimes. buy a new one if money allows, as the newer models are alot better then the older buggy ones.

Well if you really want to play right nowm, get a new Xbox. If you've gotten it fixed two times and it still gets errors it's done mate. Something bad has probably happened to it. Though I would have waited for the next gen consoles instead of getting a new xbox.

I had a ps3, I sold it. I like the Xbox 360 more. The controlls are so much better and the community too. XBL > PSN. Though idk what OP prefers.

Do the Elites work good? I was looking on ebay and I found a 120 GB in my price range. Would those be just as good as the newer models, errorwise?

i have no idea, but you need to look for a "Jasper" type Xbox 360, at the oldest. theres methods of finding Jasper type 360s online, just gotta google a bit. they were much less prone to red ring issues.

Do you know a good place to buy them. Or what a good price range for a Jaspen is? Because to be honest, I have never heard of them before.

When something breaks, pop the cover off and TEST EVERYTHING! But I doubt you're an expert like me and know when to get the hammer out...

Try getting it refunded, you may be playing too much or enclosing it causing it to heat upand melt the components!

Good luck.

Contact MS support and tell them that they failed to repair the system. Most companies have a 3-month period after an RMA where you can send back the hardware if the problem pops up again and have it fixed for free.

I didn't get it fixed by microsoft, and when you open an xbox it breaks a sticker which voids the warrenty. My warrenty was already expired.

Do you know what e74 means? Its a code the eror motoring system throws when a problem with the GPU is detected. Usually this problem stems from microsoft faulty connections but now it seems as though your GPU is fried or going bad. try to find an Xbox that is the "jasper" type because they have the "Phoenix" version of the GPU and CPU. Those seem to last the longest. I have a jasper xbox and I've had it for 3 1/2 years. No problems other than the occasional freeze but that is to be expected.

I am not familiar with getting many e74's

I've had my Xbox 360 since halo 3 came out and it still works just fine.  Microsoft made the xbox 360's with sony players and another company, one of those 2 ended up being a huge failure.
