Spitfire looked up into the air. The arrivals should be heading here anytime soon.

 

"ALRIGHT, RAINBOW, LIGHTNING, PUT 'EM UP! WHEN THE NEWBS COME HERE, YE BETTER BE READY FOR SOME TRAINING!" Spitfire yelled. "Just because you're senior doesn't mean I'm about to go wimpy on you kids."

 

Spitfire grumbled and then flew around, packing all of the clouds to spell:

 

"New Recruits, come here." 

 

"Follow the Arrow. Now."

 

Spitfire flew down with a sigh, and then tested her whistle.

 

"Be friendly. But not too friendly." Spitfire spat. "We aren't wimps."

Rainbow Dash whipped through the air. "Got it, Spitfire!" Rainbow turned and smiled at lightning. "I can't wait to whip these wimps into shape!" She had a glint in her eyes. "This is gonna be great!" Rainbow zipped straight up, and put on a show for the newcomers. All the clouds except the sign were whizzed away in a matter of seconds.

Lightning Dust flew straight up after Dash and twisted in a spiral around the trail of rainbow he was leaving, giving a spectacular effect. "Now let's get down there!" Lightning Dust sped up and flew over Rainbow Dash and flew straight down, straight at the airway. Her goggles pulsed as as she burst toward the ground, but she stopped like a hummingbird and she went diagonally, hockey stopping next to Spitfire and ripping off her goggles.

Spitfire gave a small smile.

 

"Not bad you two. Just remember not to let lightning teach them how to almost kill themselves. No offense, of course, but sometimes people are just wimps."

 

Spitfire's smile faded.

 

"NOW GIMMIE FIFTY!"

 

"I'm kidding...but the first thing the newbs are gonna do when they come here are doin' 500."

"Right, there it is. Clear as crystal." Star Keeper glided along the wind with relative ease, having little in the way of speed but it meant he could simply drift along the air currents. The location was quite conspicuous but it looked interesting enough. Star came to a steady landing on the tarmac, coming to a dead stop. He took a quick look around at the trainees before attempting to locate where they were all meant to be gathering. As soon as he saw Spitfire he trotted over to great her. "Yes, hi. Um... reporting for duty.

Night Song was amazed by the performance Rainbow Dash did. She followed the direction of the sign and when she got there, she dropped her things and the ground and waited for some other ponies to come. She then began to sing a little song, a habit of hers whenever she's waiting for something. As she sung, she stretched her wings to prepare for the rigorous training ahead. She was warned about how rigorous the training is when she got the letter and was even told that a singer like her would never survive it! Night Song decided to take up the training anyways, knowing how difficult it was going to be. However, there is always the difference between prior knowledge and experience. After she spotted Spitfire, she quickly saluted and said,"Oh uh... Night Song reporting for duty!"

"This was a BAD decision... This HAS to be some sort of prank.", Somber Tones said to himself as he looked around the training grounds. 

 

He didn't even know why he had gotten a letter. Apparently, some pony thought he was good enough... Whatever.

 

He looked to the sky, seeing another pony made a star-studded move in the clouds, clearing them to where a sign was formed. "They must be part of the squad... Buck."

 

He landed down, looking to his left, accidentally landing in front of the head of the grounds.

 

"Oh, uh... Somber Tones, reporting for duty, sir!"

Spitfire looked at the troopers who had come so far, and as Somber Tones bumped right in front of her, she snorted.

 

"Well, glad to see you came here. NOW GET WITH THE OTHER TROOPERS, SOLDIER! THIS ISN'T A GAME, YOU KNOW!" Spitfire spat, gesturing toward the other arrivals.

"Right, yes. I'll be going." He stood in line obediently, just hoping that this may come to a swift conclusion. He honestly wasn't too thrilled about being taken away from his studies just to do a few flight tricks. Maybe this would be easy, a few laps and done. I'll be home in a week. East, I can do this.

Oh god, she's a she! And I just called her sir! Nice... This is NOT good...

 

"Si-, I mean, ma'am yes ma'am!", Somber replied a bit nervously, as he flew a good speed towards the other individuals that had joined. He was hoping his speed would cut it... His prized part of a pegasus was cloud kicking, not speed at all...

[Iron Wing 237]

Iron Wing was approaching the training grounds in great height. She was used to fly that high because of her recent scouting jobs she had done. Even if she was not the fastest flier she was able to reach her top speed very fast. But that wasn´t needed now, since she was traveling on normal conditions. She got sight of the sign "New recruits come here. Follow the arrow, now." so Iron prepared for landing. She slowed down her speed and lowered the altitude and after a short time she could see were she had to land. Some ponies were already waiting, so she decided to go down a bit faster. She landed not too far away from Spitfire and folded in her wings. Iron knew the Wonderbolts had a military behavior like her commanding pony in canterlot. She looked around, made a military greeting with her hoove. "Iron Wing reporting for training duty, maám." Iron said short and clear after her landing and got into the line of the recruits with metallic hoove sounds, produced by the heavy armor she was wearing.

North Arrow glided along in the upper atmosphere, much higher than was necessary on his way to the Academy. He was getting a feel for the land and terrain. The area was lined with deep fissures. North smiled. This was going to be a blast. 

 

North spotted the Academy, It was situated on a plateau that rose far above the surrounding crags. He swooped down, gathering speed, and skidded to a halt upon landing, ending up right next to the Wonderbolt he recognised as Spitfire. Slapping a hoof to his head in the respected military salute, "Ma'am!" and, barely waiting for a response, North hurried over to the line of ponies not yet in uniform, who he could only assume to be his fellow recruits.

Lightning Dust casually passed Spitfire still admiring her Wonderbolt costume, even though she had gotten it weeks earlier, saying, "How many trainees are still missing? These ponies aren't proving anything standing here." Her wings unfolded half-way before retreating, and she took up the space to Spitfire's right, earnestly staring at the arrivals.

Skylight went flying over to the other troops- no. No, trainees. His mechanical wing was all too obvious among the other wings, his being the only one made out of metal, while the others made out of flesh, blood, and bone. He didn't expect to get through, but if he could, that would be one of the best things ever. He doubted he would make it the first day, due to his mechanical wing, but if he could... then he would have hope.

Rainbow Dash shrugged. "You got that right, Lightning. These ponies look like a pretty sorry bunch." Rainbow grinned. "I can't wait to teach them what work is really like." Rainbow playfully bumped Lightning. "Wanna show 'em what we got? We could show them what REAL flying looks like. You game?" Rainbow asked, ready to show off.

"Let's wait for Spitfire to get them working, we'll get our bit when she tells us we're up. I'll bet my bits she'll have us show how everything's really done when the times right. I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when you beat your record of 6 seconds on the Dizzytron!"

As N was kidding around in his cloud home, Ghetsis was telling him to go. (OOC:He'd probally only appear once.) "Fine!" N screamed, as he flew out of his home. When the fog starts to rise, he picks up his headphones. (OOC:I sometimes intergrade other RPs into others) "Hello?" he asked, as the fog cleared. A pony's voice told him to go straight. There, in front of him, was the Wonderbolt Academy. "Hello! Where do I start?" N asked, as he landed.

North asked him quietly. He assumed chit-chat was acceptable, since Spitfire had not yet called them to attention. "We're all a little bit nervous, even if it doesn't show. I think you'll do just fine." His deep, slow voice was reassuring.

"That happened to me too!" Night Song said. " Who knows, maybe they might've taken an interest in you and decided to have you come here," she suggested. "If that's the case, then you must be a pretty strong flyer! Whatever the reason, you'll get through it," she said with an encouraging voice.

"Spitifire!" Lightning Dust resorted to shouting now. "We've gotta get the ponies started already, no matter how long you have them chat here! Me and Rainbow Dash have already prepared the course, now can you finally send them around the course so we can barrel them with clouds, as rehearsed?"

"Barrel them with clouds?" Spitfire asked, a look of doubt on her face. Then her face changed to absolute delight.

 

"ALRIGHT, FOLKS, INSTEAD OF FIVE-HUNDRED, RAINBOW AND LIGHTNING HERE, YOUR SENIORS, HAVE PREPARED A COURSE YOU WILL GO THROUGH WHILE GETTING BARRELED BY CLOUDS!

 

STARTTTTTTTTTTT! AND NO CHATTING, NEWBS!" Spitfire yelled at the top of her lungs.

"YEEP!" yelped Night Song when Spitfire yelled her command. Turning to North Arrow and Somber, she said,"Well, good luck!" Finally, this is it. The training has begun! she thought as she spread her wings and flew into the sky. "Remember, keep a steady pace and you won't tire out so easily," Chaser Wing had said to her before she left for the academy. Those words flowed through her mind as she flew at the same speed as a jog and weaved though the clouds. She might not be the fastest flyer, but she's definitely an excellent dodger.
