Oh boy! Yippie! Just what I've always wanted! This'll go great guys!  As a heads up if you guys decide to still participate and send me ur info, I won't be able to respond to it until around 4:00PM US Central Time (good two hours before it starts). So if I don't respond right away, don't shoot me. (Unless you really really want to).

Updated! We are playing blacklight: Retribution. I know nothing about this game. So it should be fun. And if we go deep into the night (As we often do) *Sigh* We will play 0 A.D......woo.

A few of us played BLacklight, and while amusing, no lasting appeal whatsoever. We will play it, but probably not for hours. We will probably just decide another game as a group, so come with ideas.

I have to admit that this was one of the weaker ones, it was fun but being that it ended up being me and Jormaz playing minecraft and Ben playing lol with his Jonathan and couple of other guys do to lag on Jormaz's server but it was still fun, less fun when I couldn't talk but still fun.

Just kidding, I was playing Bioshock: Infinite, and after that I was raging at Bioshock: Infinite's terrible ending.

 

UPDATE: I still think it had a bad ending, but since literally every single other person on the internet disagrees with me I will now go out of my way to be that one guy who goes to every video and starts a flamewar about it.

 

Just kidding again, what really happened is that I found Two new free games that we could try for this week's event. I haven't played either of them, but the videos look interesting.

 

P.S. What I was kidding about was the starting flame wars part. It really does seem to be only me that hates Bioshock Infinite's ending.

Ahem, so yes. It's returning. The 31st of this month at 6:00 Pm Central Standard time. We will be playing Guns of Icarus  kick off the night. then transition into absolute madness. Expect Board game online, WoW screwing around, possibly rp (Looking forward to that one), and all sorts of stuff. It is surely to be a great night. And it is All night long....Mmm yeah baby!

My views regarding the current situation of the WGE and what we need to do! It's a pretty big wall of text so feel free to ignore it but it's just addressing a few concerns I have regarding the longevity and survival of the game night.

 

 

I think a problem is a lack of willingness to play some games, I think we're all guilty of going "eurgh I don't want to play that" despite everyone else in the party wanting to play that game.

 

What we need, is rather than a "game of the week" is one or two games that we can all play without fail. Be that LoL, WoW, Board Game or whatever. We all have a bank of games just we don't play them for some reason. Hell we even have The Ship now which I think would be hilarious.

 

We don't need a new game everyweek, we have ones we've tried and tested and that we know we enjoy. We have Planetide, Minecraft, that stupid doll game if need be but I think people are just lazy. 

 

Personally I'd love to play WoW and Planetside every week. Both are free and we all have it and we can do some stupid stuff in them. Flying Galaxy dropships into the enemy's sanctuary, being stupid RP people in Goldshire. I was in tears of laughter last week after Kamil was being chased by those guys. 

 

Ironically it's not the games that make the WGE enjoyable, it's the stupid stuff we do and the personalities we have. We can have a game of ARAM once a week, followed by 30 minutes of Planetside then play a 50 turn game of board game and then IF we have a new game that week, play that!

 

The problem is there is no communication on the thread. I think that the updates need to be made as a new post and there needs to be discussion going on. Just put up ideas of new games or whatever and we all need to do it. The discussions that go on in this chat need to be moved over to that thread. The more we post there, the more it gets seen.

 

What I'm tempted to do, with Josh's permission of course (or he can do it himself) is the rejig the beginning post to maybe include some of the videos and include a list of active members and games.

Then there needs be a NEW post when a new game has been thought of. If it's free then there is NO excuse why people can't get it. If Josh makes a post on the monday, download it on the night you see it. Follow the thread if its easier for you. 

 

We're all quite complacent about new games and we can't be. It's all well and good you not liking a certain genre but give it a go anyway, it's less about the game and more about having a laugh. I'm personally still amazed we haven't played Tera yet, I think we'd have a lot of fun with it. 

 

We also need to keep an eye on Steam sales for possible multiplayer games that are cheap. We don't need to be buying a game every week but shelling out $10 once a month can't be so bad?

 

We need to use what we have, which is a bunch of fun games. Maybe for a while we just forget about new games and play the ones we have. 

 

Therefore I expect everyone to at least have 3 of the following ready for this friday: WoW, Planetside 2, LoL, Minecraft, Terraria or APB. I think that covers everyone's interests. We can discuss which of the 3 we want to play this week but make sure a decision is made by Thursday at the latest.

 

As for people not turning up, thats an individual problem that can't be helped. It was an impossibility for me to play last friday but from now on I am in the clear. Preventing the games being cancelled for the week, either the people left then that time can be used to try and get more people into the group. Get on the forum and post or make a status update. Put a link to it in your signature so when you post in other places, people see it!

 

We need to make an effort as a group rather than leaving Josh to it. If he hasn't said anything don't assume it's off, we're all adults (to a degree) and we're more than capable of organising it ourselves.

 

As I mentioned before, we have a bank of games we can play, even if we just play LoL then boardgame for half an hour it's still a game night. Half of us are online anyway at that time, just get together and make something of it

[MAJOR UPDATE] We're having a reunion! For new people and the oldies together! We're not reviving, by any means. It's not that time yet. But! We are having a meet up sometime soon and we'll be starting with http://www.boardgame-online.com/ It's free, it's in a browser, and it's quite fun! So that's a good starter at the very least. We may or may nor be playing more, but at the very least it'll be fun to meet with all the good old friends of the old times! I'll be updating this thread soon with dates once i consult the veterans of WGE. But anyone may join us! It'll be nice to have old and new faces to be playing together. The Stalker Mod in Garry's Mod

 

 

I still have unedited footage (not that much or any editing is done for most stuff) for Cards Against Humanity, Haven & Hearth and Starcraft II Arcade's Card Shuffle and i think i might end up getting a video for only Card Shuffle. Cards Against Humanity might have few fun parts, so maybe i should go through it, but i am not feeling it right now. Haven & Hearth had nothing going on that would be worth showing. At least from my perspective.
