Aaaa, it's okay, don't let that turn you down... Especially since the part about you not being able to do anything is not true! The best thing you can do if you is help animals yourself. Like if you see a dog in the street who must be really hungry, give it your school meal, or if you see a bird with broken wings ask your parents if you can keep it until it gets better. I'm sure you would feel much better if you helped them yourself! Don't worry, it doesn't matter that you're 11, you can do a lot already!

I've seen those ads before. They really are sad. Donating I've heard doesn't actually help the animals that much. Just the organization's profit. One day, you'll be able to help if you want. But for now, don't let it get to you.

Aww don`t be sad.   There is plenty you can do! Trust me! You can go to an animal shelter and help the animals by donating your time. You can take care of injured animals you find, lots of possibilities .

Well no need to be sad! You can always learn to make a difference later on! And you can still make a difference now, its all the small things that add up to change the world you know.

 

So don't be sad, the commercials are meant to be sad anyways. Its a good thing that you feel sympathy for them though. If you want you can even study now and later on in life do something big about it.

 

For now you can always do the small things. Like feeding homeless animals, that kinda stuff.

If you can adopt an animal then you could always do that.

 

So do the small deeds and make the differences one at a time, the little things make the difference . And eventually you can do more as you grow older.

 

Don't feel sad though, its good to feel sympathy, but don't let it consume you. You can do things yourself to! Just do a bit of research on the internet and such!

I know the feels, bro. I hate those commercials, too. Sometimes I have to change the channel. There's enough darkness blatantly visible in the world, I don't need more shoved in my face.

 

If it helps you feel better, find a local animal shelter to volunteer at. Donate some money if you can't give your time (Try to keep it in local animal shelter organizations, though. They seem to have less overhead and more of your dollar goes to the service). If you can't do that, and you have a pet, at least you can give them a nice hug and give thanks for them. Better to light a candle - no matter how small - than to just curse the darkness.

 

To be honest I think commercials that overly attempt to appeal to emotion (ASPCA, and the other one where the old guy walks around the poor village highlighting children...you know the one) end up shooting the organization in the foot in the end. People don't get inspired to help or cause change, they just become revolted and shield their eyes. The organization needs to address the problem, but also more adequately inspire hope for the solution. Not to mention that these large charities have so much corporate overhead that a large chunk of the money goes to maintaining the organization itself, rather than to helping people or animals.

There is so much sad stuff going one that it could just overwhelm anyone with a soul if they really paid attention. Remember the MLP episode Hurricane Fluttershy, she was one of the worst flyers but her effort still made that much of a difference. If we all do just a little bit, just what we can it does make a difference people have more power than they realize but they just don't tap into it. You don't have to be rich of famous to accomplish something you just have to have the will to do it and it may be small but it adds up.

 I know the commercial your talking about. Its meant to make you feel guilty. Unfortunately that is a part of life and unless you have the means to donate or take in one of those animals there's not much you can do. I volunteered at an animal shelter and it was very tear jerking. I wish i could take all of them home with me. My dog died recently i have been thinking about going to the shelter and finding another one. Though i keep voting against it because it just brings back to much memories. And not to sound ignorant but there is far worse things happening to animals than just neglect and beating. Rhino and Elephant poaching is getting out of control. Polar Bears are losing their home. Its just a part of life. Do what you can to help but that's just the way it is.
