  1. Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. A great musical staring Neil Patrick Harris (Barney from how I met your mother). It's about Dr. Horrible of course. A super villain who owns a vlog and has a crush on a girl he sees at the laundromat, the only problem is that she likes the hero more. Heads up, sad story. [EDIT] Here's the movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esiIFLI3ryI
  2. I love Ghost Mice, but AJJ is one of the rare bands that make me cry. It was also my first folk band that I really like. Frank Turner is ok but I see that a lot of his songs feel the same.
  3. This thread id dedicated to the comedic masterminds that are the Whitest Kid 'U Know (also to make new fans). Those of you who know who they are you can totally agree with me how great they are. Post your favorite skits by them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Whitest_Kids_U'_Know http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJnZtcY5-Mk
  4. Typically I only like soundtracks from games in the 16/8 bit era. Anything from the Mother series. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZXylB7bgX8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNGY_fvXUCY Not much else to say, this is really all one of my friends listen to.
  5. Maybe an underrated or unheard genre, but I really love it. It's basically punk/alternative but using traditional instruments (I.E. banjo, acoustic, violin,) and usually centers around depression or anger. If you do happen to like it a/o interested in it I'd love to give and get some references for music. Here's one of my favorite albums from my favorite band!
  6. Are you kidding? Sure manga looks nice, the art is good, color would be cool but not always needed. But you can't say comics look nothing special. Comic books have a lot of glorious colors and that's good for marketing, also they are printed on glossy paper and you can get a limited edition which really amps it up using thicker paper and extra artwork. I'm not sure manga does this, but they don't do it enough. I'd have to say comics look more easy on the eyes. If you let a child choose between a colored novel between one in black and white, chances are he'll choose color.
  7. Let me explain this. Alright, so pictures telling stories had been around, well, since the Egyptians. But never was text added to them. Many a existed before comics but they only used pictures to show the story. Then comics came which influenced manga to add text or so to speak. But manga has also influenced american comics with the style and how characters will break out of the panel. So I think its safe to say both came at the same time.
  8. There's the fight I want. By style, I mean art and writing. And they are not all the same by a LONG shot. Manga has a lot to choose from, I get that. But manga is just so unoriginal almost all the time. And we ain't just talkin' 'bout superheroes honey. I'm talking about Scott Pilgrim, Tony Chu from Chew, and all the wonderful web comics out there like Blaster Nation. Face it, comics are the source of manga and will always be better.
  9. I've been reading comics and manga ever since I was a little kid. And I remember my first comic ever was Spawn, first issue too. But I also had some great memories with manga as well. My friend had brought a Japanese version of Naruto #1 which did not censor the sexy jitsu (or whatever the fuck it's called). But as I grew I up I leaned towards American comics, because they just seemed more imaginative and not afraid if they choose a different style or not. But I want to here your opinion on it. Oh, and fighting in this thread is accepted and wanted.
  10. I must comment on your avatar. It is lovely, and I enjoy the manga.

      Comics are better anyway.

  11. I might get a bit of hate for this, but I really did not like this song. First of all, I'm a bit surprised to hear something like this come from Mando. And the overall feel of this song is just kinda bubblegummy, it's sweet, but you don't swallow it. This sort of reminds me about how some celebrities will team up and make a sentimental song because of the similar background music. And when I'm greeted by the intro of the video saying, "This song is dedicated to: All who have the courage and strength to love and tolerate in the face of hate". I really disagree with that because out of the time I've been with the community I don't feel loved or tolerated.
  12. ACK! OC'S!!! RED AND BLACK SEND IT BACK!!! Oh but seriously it looks good and always finish what you start (Satan knows I should). Just keep drawing
  13. I didn't smile today, but I did yesterday. And what made me smile was that I first played Star Wars Battlefront II in the last 5 years, brought back some good memories.
  14. As a kid I used to believe that you'd have to pay money to get a job. Sort of like a reverse loan system, and for some reason it made sense to me. But now I see how shitty that would be.
  15. I always wanted to take up animation, but I'm in-experienced. I'm looking for an experienced animator to teach me the ins and outs about flash, maybe some bonding here and there. I'd be really grateful if any of you could help me, and if you don't have the time I understand.
