Krystal moaned and rubbed her eyes, rolling over in bed. She stared out of the gaping hole in her room that was in the back of her ship, admiring the fast wake it left behind. It was a miracle that they'd been able to escape before the entire ship was blown to bits. She rolled back over and gave her lover, Sky, a kiss on the cheek before getting out of bed and getting dressed in a pair of boots and a long sleeve shirt with billowing sleeves. She left her quarters and went about the deck of her ship. It was still early so she mostly had the deck to herself save for the pony on night-watch in the crow's nest, and a pony manning the wheel. Krystal didn't know why, but ever since she'd set sail she's been able to awake much more rested than before. Maybe it's the fresh air, the gentle rock from the waves, or maybe even Sky. She'd been on the seas for a few years now and couldn't imagine her life any different. She was free and not tied back by anypony. The world was her oyster...

 

She flew up to the crow's nest and hovered near it, seeing that the pony in it had dozed off. She figured she'd let it slide so he could get some shut eye. She looked back behind the ship over the horizon and saw the vast emptiness of the sea. "Good" she thought. They narrowly escaped from port a few nights ago when she decided to be daring enough to anchor up in an Equestrian harbor. They'd been pursued by an Equestrian Naval battleship ever since. It was a massive, four masted, triple battery, battleship too. Luckily, she had the fastest ship in the sea under her domain to save their lives.

 

She flew back down and greeted the pony on the wheel. Exchanging pleasantries, asking how the night was (it was quiet) before asking "So how long until we reach our destination?"

 

"Within the hour" he replied happily.

 

Sure enough, Krystal looked forward and saw a tiny speck of an island on the horizon. They were on their way to her favorite pirate safe arbor; Casaflanca, for some repairs and rejuvenation. Also to exchange some goods on the black market...

Slicer pushed the door leading out onto the deck of his ship open. He took a sheet of paper and hammered it to the door.

"GOOD NEWS EVERYPONY." He turned around to see the deck of his ship was deserted. "Well fine...No good news." He muttered, Turning to face the sheet of paper which read The Asylum's bounty had been raised. He grinned and flew down the stairs where the crew were all asleep. "HEY....WAKE UP." He yelled. "ITS ABOUT...SIX O-CLOCK, HOW COME YOUR NOT ALL AWAKE ? I just finished making some banana bread." He grinned and walked back up the stairs.

Rambler woke up the same way he always did, which is to say, with a terrible hangover. Fortunately, he was quartermaster, which meant there was no-one to stop him from taking a little hair of the dog (or, for that matter, a lot). Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, he headed down to the food stores to drink his breakfast.

Arcane was pacing around the deck, he had already woken up an hour before, unable to get very good sleep since the battle with the Equestrian main battleship a few days before. While they were docked, they had made allies with the Sea Peregrine, the fastest ship any of his crew had ever seen, and quite the captain, of course, Arcane thought nothing of it, she was already taken.

 

Arcane looked up to the wheel, where one of his crew members was trying his best to try and stay on course. "We still following the Peregrine?" he asked, all he got in response was a slow nod. "Good, pull it up next to her." he ordered. The ship almost did a 180, tossing Arcane to the floor, "I said next to her..." he repeated. The pony at the wheel frowned and sighed, turning back to the right direction. "Release all sails!" he yelled out, before noticing all the crew was still asleep. "Great... you" he said pointing at the pony at the wheel, "Release all sails, i'll take the wheel" he said before walking up and taking the wheel from the pony. The pony quickly climbed around  releasing all (3?) of the sails so the wind would carry them closer to the Sea Peregrine.

 

Once the pulled up next to the ship, Arcane ordered half sails and he had the pony come back down to take the wheel.

He walked to the side and looked over at Krystal, the captain of the ship. "How close are we? I don't want to be taking too long, my repair pony can't fully repair the ship, and I don't think were going to last much longer"

The Wasp was lucky that the Peregrine was just going at her cruising speed. She could be half way to the Crystal Empire by now if she had all hands on deck.

 

"We're not too far from Casaflanca" she replied "We should be there within the hour if we stay on course" she looked back at the rising sun, a slightly worried expression on her face "Do you think that dainty little ray of sunshine is still following us?"

Cascade flapped her flippers tiredly as she climbed out of her bunk. Slicer really was very erratic. Some days, he let some of them sleep past noon; others, he would just scream at all of them to get up. She knew better than to ask where he had gotten the stuff necessary to make banana bread, or even if he had actually made any in the first place, because she knew she wouldn't get a straight answer from her captain.

 

She sufficed with emerging onto the deck, looking up at the billowing black curtains that were the sails of the Asylum, and grinning eagerly at the new day.

"Good Morning Cascade, My Little Cupcake." He smiled and skipped up the stairs to the ships wheel, then picked up a small spyglass.

He looked through it the wrong end and frowned. "I think its broken...Oops." He flipped it around then looked through out at the ocean.

Pirate Opal's back ached ferociously, begging him to readjust from that terrible position he had been sleeping in while in the Crow's Nest. Realizing he had dozed off, he sprang up and stared out around him, and a short distance to the west, away from the sun, he spotted land, obviously their intended destination, Casaflanca. He could make out several ruined buildings at the coast, but he knew it was only a way to fend off unwanted travelers.

 

Hoping Krystal had not seen him sleeping, which he was almost sure she had, he zipped down to the deck and landed smoothly facing the bow, where Krystal, the fine captain leading The Sea Peregrine, stood conversing with the pony steering the boat toward Casaflanca. They probably haven't had breakfast yet, as there's nothing to eat! This was his usual thought each morning, and he called up to Krystal, "Morning to you, Captain. About time for breakfast, aye? I'ma comin' about to prepare it, it'll be up and ready in a jiffy!"

Arcane smirked and laughed, "And if it is? I don't think it can outrun us" he said right before he heard a screeching loud blow of a horn. They called it the 'Banshee', used for waking up all the crew. Soon most of the deck flooded with crew, "Ah, mornin cap'n, up early again?" one of the less clean crew members asked before he started to climb up to the 'hornets nest', its what they have taken custom to calling the crows nest. "Yes, I still remember the loud blasts from those cannons, kept me up most of the night" he said before putting a hoof to his head, "I still have a headache from that day"

Sky awoke to find a book were Krystal had been laying. He picked up the book and chuckled "This is probably worth thousands on the black market." He laughed as he got up and put the book away. Sky then put his trademark hat on and black, golden buckled boots. He left the captains quarters and was welcomed by the great smell of the sea. "Make, me something too, ay Opal." Sky said as he walked over. "And make sure you bring up a bottle of the good stuff too. It was a long night." Sky chuckled at the last part. "Today is going to be a grand day." He thought to himself.

Krystal chuckled at Arcane's statement "Well, I know I can. I don't know about you though..." she said, eyeing the rows of heavy cannons on his ship and how the bow fought against the waves to keep up with the Peregrine. She jumped and cringed at the sudden hornblast that left a ring in her eardrums. It managed to wake her crew too as she saw some ponies groggily crawl up from below deck. "Now everypony get ready to take down the sails, release the anchor, and tie up to dock. We'll be arriving shortly." she barked at her crew.

 

"Morning to you, Captain. About time for breakfast, aye? I'ma comin' about to prepare it, it'll be up and ready in a jiffy!"

"Sound's great, Opal. Make it an extra special meal today. We'll have plenty of time to restock once we reach our destination" she replied with a smile.

 

 

 

He left the captains quarters...

"Good morning" she said in a pleasant tone "Did you sleep well?" she said while she playfully swiped his chin with her tail.

Nightfall shook himself.

His worrying had kept him up all night. He got up and looked around on the deck. Nonpony was on the deck yet. He sighed and made sure they could sail as soon as his crew was awake.

"Oy! Wake up, deckhands! We don't live on the land anymore!"

They were docked just outside Casaflanca.

"Aye, Sky, no problem." He had already removed the meal, enough for ten, though they didn't have that many ponies, but as their last meal before arriving in Casaflanca, they should get nourished and ready to go adrift before going aground. He went to the storage room, where, as usual, Rambler was not where the rum was, surprisingly, because it was where Rambler always was, so Opal went ahead and took a barrel, lugging it back to the dining quarters and drilling a hole in the side before plugging it. This way they could easily drink without spilling. He brought the large buffet to the dining quarters as well and set it all on the table, shouting, "Breakfast is ready, matees! Get some if ya want some!"

 

((OOC: As we are pirates, it would be preferable to, as Sky did, name Pirate Opal by his last name, unless it is a formal occasion. But when speaking casually, Opal is fine.))

The sound of a captains orders was enough to wake Electro Dash up. Her parents would joke that she could sleep through a cannon barage, but the captain? Always got her up. For Electro Dash was loyal to nightfall. Electro Dash rolled out of the hammock, surrounded by all theese burley colts. From what she had seen, she was the only lass on this ship, and yet they treated her like any other. Drinks every night, and work every day. As she hovered down onto the floorboards she noticed a still sleeping crew member. She went over and slapped him.

"what do ye think yer doin'? if we 'af to get up so do you!" she said before heading up onto deck.

"If you could call it sleep then, yes very well indeed." Sky smirked as he stood beside Krystal and adjusted his hat. He stood there for a while watching a lone cloud drift along the sky before hearing Opal call for them. "I'll see you there." Sky said as he teleported into the dining quarters and took a seat.

When Rambler arrived at the storage room, he noticed the last barrel of rum was missing. I guess that means breakfast is ready, Rambler thought. Heading back upstairs after grabbing his personal flask, he arrived in the dining quarters as the others were sitting down to breakfast. "That's the last barrel of rum; we'll need to stock up when we make port. And Opal", he said, pointing to the chef accusingly, "Could you please try to save at least some of the food? How much of this do you think we really need?"

Krystal followed him, taking a shortcut through another hole in the boat left by the ship they narrowly escaped. She sat at the end of the table, across from Sky and began eating. It was the best she's had since when she was last in port. Then again, she didn't get to eat much last time, running away from armed guards after they caught onto her ploy. Above deck, she could hear deckhands messing with the ropes as they were preparing to dock.

"Lighten up, Rambler. We're due to arrive in Casaflanca in an hours' worth of time, and it's best we get nice and fit for our arrival. We're rich with money, we can easily pay for more food, and," he replied, emphasizing the last word to get on Rambler's more enthusiastic side, "rum." Krystal sat down and began eating, so he jokingly added, "The captain seems to be fine with it."

Fade yawned and opened her blurry blue eyes at Slicer's shout. So it was one of those mornings, huh? She stood up, shaking away the fuzzieness of her sleep and stretched. Cascade was already awake and on deck. Preparing herself for the day ahead, Fade stepped out on to the deck where Slicer and and the second in command were already conversing. As she walked up to them she gave a regular, silent nod of greeting, ever the stoic and silent.

"Ah very well, I'm sorry for lecturing you. I'll be a better mood as soon I'm not sober anymore.", With that Rambler took a deep pull from his flask. Turning to the captain, "So, cap'n, do we have any particular buisiness we need to take care of in Casaflanca, or will I finally get a chance to spend some time at a good tavern?"

Krystal took a sip from her cup of stale tea and replied "I'll hire some dockworkers to repair the damages to the ship while we go about our business in Casaflanca. We'll stock up on supplies then divide the rest of our gold evenly among our crewmembers and after that feel free to spend it however you wish..." she smiled softly back up at him as she drank from her mug again.

(Were are all me crew? D: Also, any of you seen the animated Sinbad? Arcane's outfit looks similar to Proteus', but its the same color as his coat, and has black outline)

Arcane rushed around with the crew to prepare to dock into Casaflanca, "Raise the sails and lower the anchor, and Stank, don't even think about leaving to your room with Cara!" he yelled to the pony that had addressed him earlier.

 

Ponies at the dock pulled in the ship and tied it down, just for extra safety. "Hail! What brings you to Casaflanca?" asked one of them, probably the head guy or something. "Were here to get repairs and restock out supplies, mind giving a discount for an Equestrian fleet ship?" Arcane asked. The head pony grumbled but nodded, "Sure, wouldn't want to tick off Celestia herself now would we? 15% off, and nothing more" he said before leaving to get a crew to start repairs.

"I'm not one to go around spending my money aimlessly, so I'm up to using my share to go to the market and get one of those fancy machines they call fridges to keep our food cool. I hear it is extremely efficient! Of course, I will also get us some food that I will keep in the kitchen. The store room might as well be used as a room preserved for rum," he joked.

Slicer smiled at Fade as she walked up onto the deck of the ship. "SO...Now that some of you are awake." He said, Looking down at his crew from the bridge of the ship. "I decided something last night...I was up fairly late making banana bread when I thought of something. We are going to go to Casaflanca. For two reasons. Because I feel like it and we are almost completely out of food." He smiled. "We will be there within the next couple hours."

"Mind if I join you, cap'n? You have no clue what to get. And we need more of our C.O. and I know where to get it" Giving a crooked grin as she spoke, Spark followed behind Arcane, not bothering to ask permission to go. Her captain needed her, no matter how much he denied it.
