The Alicorn Wars

Hey every pony! I've been working on this theory/fanfic idea and wanted to hear your guy's opinion on it/voice your own ideas on the topic. I'll post my first draft once I have it done. Here's a brief summery of it.

 

Alicorns originally were the only pony species in what will become equestria. A great war erupted between the alicorns of light and dark magic. The light sought to bring order through the mastery of the elements and nature using their knowledge to help pony kind master the world around them. The dark alicorns sought order by controlling other alicorns, hoping to bring from it eternal peace and combining all alicorn knowledge to achieve greater power for all alicorn kind. In the final battle, a massive event caused the elements of the alicorns to disperse and separate from one another not only creating things like the elements of harmony, the alicorn amulet, and the crystals of the crystal empire; but also the three pony types as well. Only the most powerful of alicorns survived the event intact. Too few were left to sustain the species, but one of the remaining alicorns did figure out, before dying, how to re-elevate ponies into alicorns. Only ponies deemed worthy are granted this gift of being "raised" or "restored". The knowledge has been past down to every succeeding alicorn since and has been given the task of granting this gift to only the most deserving of ponies. Eventually, these "raised" alicorns would became the rulers of equestria and have passed the trait and it's knowledge to each successor.

Well... Let me be honest, Alicorns are just completely awful... It is very hard to make anything interesting at all spring up around the hooves of Alicorns, and the concept of an Alicorn fanfic just makes me cringe. But! that being said, the theme doesn't sound bad and I am interested

Mk Everypony, may take a bit longer to get this up with all the news going around. Since there's potential new information about alicorns in the upcoming episodes, which could mean changes to the plot, I'll have to hold off finishing this and posting the results till after this season is over.

The 3 tribes that had founded Equestria banded together and created the Elements of Harmony as a way to preserve and defend their world. Other powers, jealous or angry of the ponies assailed them.  Desperate to preserve their world, they created the Alicorns - by binding the souls of three ponies into one.

 

The Equestrians did this - repeatedly, creating archons of enormous power that could fight their opponents on equal terms.  Celestia and Luna share the memories and souls 6 ponies, those who possessed the original elements of harmony.   Eventually a mysterious foundling "Discord", a friend of the ponies, raised by them at the time of the first few Alicorns came to rule over the ponies.  Because he was ruthless, powerful, intelligent and capable of playing the ponies against one another he succeeded in exiling, destroying, marooning or stranding all of the other Alicorns in space and time,  Luna and Celestia - forewarned by their close association with him - alone escaped  The defeat of discord, a virtual God of chaos and his allies required all the power of both darkness and light; as well as the elements of harmony.

 

it also required the sacrifice of another three ponies and the creation of the Alicorn of Love, Candice before the Equestrians finally mustered enough force to seal Discord within stone and save their nation, catapulting Candice through time 900 years.  It cost Luna her sanity (and Celestia her morality - for decades), and seriously weakened Candice.

 

The cost of that conflict was the destruction of most of Equestria,

 

Over the next thousand years Equestria was besieged with the remnants of that conflict, and the magical energies it unleashed into the world.  Equestria is finally beginning to recover, but the jealous powers have taken note that Luna has returned to Celestia and the Equestrians are again besieged.  Desperate for allies they have decided to bargain even with Discord and the remnants of the evil Crystal Empire.  They have tried to control dragons and have even attempted to continue the secret and dangerous projects of Starswirl in an attempt to rearm themselves for a conflict they know is inevitable.

 

It is against that backdrop that the powerful and dangerous unicorn Twilight Sparkle has emerged.  She has proven capable of defeating an Alicorn and Discord himself almost single-handedly, The court has decided to have her complete Starswirl's dangerous research if possible.  As soon as she succeeded, becoming a alicorn herself through sheer magical might they immediately enlisted her in the defense of Equestria.  This will both further strengthen their weak nation, and shore up their vulnerable defenses, at the same time removing a potential rival to the throne by co-opting her.

Well apparently you learn something new everyday and today i believe i can tick off, i wish i had the patience to opinionated right now but sounds awesome
