Slide Grease noticed a group of ponies having a snowball fight, and he just had to join in. "Well, see you mysterious flame mare," he said with a wink. "There are some ponies having a snowball fight over there....sounds like fun!" He then rushed over, gathering up snow with his front hoof so he could jump right in. He launched the ball at a mare who jas just made a huge snowball, not really sure how organized this was. "Heads up, silly filly!" Slide screamed loudly at the mare (Lite).

Well, this is odd... How do they make it into balls? Hmm... Ah, I think I know...

 

Immediately, a snowball the size of Nightfall was made by her magic, as Lite chucked it right at Nightfall in the for of a pop fly. "HEADS UP, NIGHTFALL!", she yelled out with a bit of laughter.

 

 

"Gah!"

Nightfall was hit, accidentally sending the ball he had made straight towards Lite with no warning. He then fell down into some deep snow, fully covering him up. He lay there, trying to figure out what had just happened. He shook his head, blinking, then realized a big white blob above him, falling down. Before he could speak up, he was fully imbedded in the snow.

Diamond burst out laughing but quickly ran over to clear the snow of Nightfall's head. "Heh heh...I think Lite wins." She said, nibbling on his ear and holding out her hoof to help him up. She chuckled as another pony came running at them, throwing snowballs at Lite.

Cascade looked at Lila with concern, sensing that despite her claims to the contrary, something was up. "Sure, but I might be a while," she called towards the door before looking back at Lila. "Hey..." Cascade began awkwardly, speaking softly now. "You can talk to me, okay? You know that, right?" 

Lila ignored the voice from the door as she listened to Cascade. "I know, its just..." she began, fear creeping into her voice again. "Its the worst sensation you could experience. You're awake, but at the same time you're not. And you cant control what happens, all those figures just slowly creep up on you and you cant move at all." At this point she was on the verge of tears. She wish she knew how to prevent the scenario from ever happening again and sleep potions don't help at all.

Diamond burst out laughing but quickly ran over to clear the snow of Nightfall's head. "Heh heh...I think Lite wins." She said, nibbling on his ear and holding out her hoof to help him up. She chuckled as another pony came running at them, throwing snowballs at Lite.

 

Nightfall blushed.

"Yeah, I guess that just happened."

Nightfall took the hoof, but instead pulled Diamond on top of him.

"But I'd hate for us to be caught in someone else's battle."

He smiled, but his blush was a bit worse. He kissed her, then held her tight.

"The closer, the warmer, right?"

'Lite....so that's her name....' he thought as he heard another mare say her name. "Ha! This isn't over yet! Not if I can help it!" He cried as he continued to throw snowballs at the mare that he assummed was Lite. He was determined to win....besidrs, he had just gotten in this thing!

Lite was too busy laughing at Nightfall's downfall to realize about 20 snowballs were shot right at her. Once the bombardment was over, she feel in the snow being really, really dizzy. She blinked a few times trying to realize where she was at that moment.

"Yeah, I guess that just happened."

Nightfall took the hoof, but instead pulled Diamond on top of him.

Rambler thought he could hear the two of them talking on the other side of the door, but decided not to get involved.

 

"Alright then, I'll be out here when you're ready. If you need anything or whatever, just say the word. Of course I don't really know why you would need anything from me right now but... I'm going to stop talking now."

Nightfall let her tongue enter for a little, letting his own dance with hers for a short time before breaking the kiss.

He blushed. The setting, weather, and time were all perfect, but he remembered there were other ponies still around.

Shade was struggling to get to the cafe... And after almost haveing a hart attack from being sneaked up on, she was tired... Without the fire on her hooves, it made it difficult to make her way threw the snow, and it was too clold for her to change, so she was stuck with the holes in her legs... She hoped that nopony would see them...

You're welcome to join too...My name's Light Diamond and this is Nightfall Starline. He goes by his first name and I go by my last." She chuckled and held out a hoof to shake Slide's.

Lite finally regained her senses, now getting up to the ground and shaking herself of the excess snow.

 

"It's all right... My name is Lite Shade... Nice to meet you..."

 

She tried to walk towards the building, but immediately fell down back into the snow bank. "Ouch..."

Shade continued to walk threw the heavy snow... Her legs were starting to get slower...

 

Then she remembered something... "AAAARRRRGGGGG.... why am I so stupid!!!!!!!"

 

Changelings don't function well in the cold weather.... They'd normally be frozen alive....

 

Shades legs were frozen in place and she didn't have the energy to burn them free...

 

"Oh for pony sakes... SOMEPONY HELP ME"

 

Shade called out... She started to shiver as she tryed to move her legs...

Slide nodded and smiled at Diamond and Nigntfall. "You two can go ahead. I'll stay back and help Lite," he said as he watched her fall to the ground. He quickly scooped her up and let her lean upon him. "I'll help you get to the cafe, if tou want. It doesn't look like you can walk on your own right now....I...I'm sorry about that..."

"I said... You were fine... Dang snowballs can be hard...", Lite mumbles as she basically leaned on Slide, and settled down onto a couch, laying on the cushions. She was still very dazed, and it looked like the room was spinning yet, everything was intact just fine.

Slide let Lite lay down on the couch and went over to find Diamond amd Nightfall. "She....she should be fine," he said, stutterring as she saw her slightly limp on the couch. "She justs needs some rest, hopefully she'll be okay by the time we leave." Slide felt the need to take care of her. He didn't know whether it was because he found her attractive or that he just felt reponsible and guilty.

He winked at her, smiling, and accepted her hoof, getting help to pull himself out of the snow.

"Yeah. You wanna pull Lite out of her fight, or go without her? It might be best if she comes too. After all, the plans included her originally."

He looked back at the dazed Lite.

Diamond placed her hoof on the ground and nodded. "Um...Ok." She said. She turned around and intertwined her tail with Nightfall's. "Lets go get some muffin's." She said, happily trudging through the deep snow. "Well...That was kinda awkward." She said, shaking all the snow off her wings.

Cascade tilted her head, pondering Lila's predicament curiously. Honestly, she had no idea what Lila's problem might be. But it would probably do her some good to get out from behind her desk anyway. "Lila..." Cascade began rather hesitantly, but plunged onwards. "You should come hang out with us today. Get some fresh air. See the snow."

Snow. Brilliant. It's as if fate decided to set the stage for today's events. Star sluggishly forced himself from his covers, practically crawling around the room to get on with his routine. Rambler was gone, obviously. There were very few mornings where wasn't off to go see Cascade. Rambler was happy and that's all that matters, but he couldn't keep what lingered at the back of his mind away.

 

Stupid dreams, playing with his subconscious like some kind of game. I wont go into details for the sake of his dignity. Maybe they were trying tell him something, or maybe they were just out to spite him. But today was going to be different and hopeful he would bring these images to a close. Star had a plan at the ready, he just prayed that there would be no complications.

 

Well, it's snowing, so I guess this is a good day to wear your scarf and no pony can ask why. Wrapping the brown fabric around his neck he took pleasure at how it seemed to hug his coat softly. Almost like- Wait, never mind. Where was I? Oh, right, leaving. Classes were likely to be off today so there was no worry there. The only thing left to do was make sure that he found Rambler and Cascade, and finally put an end to the nagging thoughts in his head.

Arcane had gone a ways through his normal routine for walking, but he just felt... tired, and he didn't feel like walking back to his dorm. So like the strange pony he was, he set up a heat shield (keeps everything inside warm, but doesn't do anything to the outside except keep it out) and slept outside, unbeknownst that it would snow overnight.

 

Arcane woke up, and instantly noticed that there was snow covering his shield. "It... snowed? Well, we all know what happens when Arcane see's snow..." he said to himself. He couldn't tell exactly how deep in the snow he was, but he compressed the snow around his bubble and made and entrance to his so newly made 'snow fort'.

 

He walked outside of the fort and looked around. He was just outside the university, and the snow was thick were he was. A perfect sphere for a snow fort. In fact, it was so sphere like, you could consider it an igloo. But it was too perfect to be called that. "Snow... globe?... That's a stupid name" he told himself. He was starting to get cold, now that he didn't have his heat shield

"But i still have stuff to finish. I need to get it done before i do anything else." Lila said almost desperately. "Im sorry but i cant. And besides, Arrow is supposed to stop by anyways so i think ill be fine... Mostly." With the last part she took another look around the room just to make sure all the dark figures were gone.

All Cascade could manage was a worried look at her roommate. "Well, I suppose I can't make you come... Just promise me you'll get out and do something today, okay? You've been cooped up in here too long. It looks like it's starting to get to ya." 

 

As she talked, she got dressed. And as she finished pulling on her cyan earmuffs that matched her eyes perfectly, she began to trot towards the door.
