Please criticize my music

I am new to FiM techno, techno and music altogether

I would appreciate it if anyone could harshly (and constructively) criticize my work.

The nicest way I can put this is, it's definitely obvious that this is your first attempt at music. Very obvious. We all start somewhere, though. My first song easily sounded even worse than this.

 

I can't really criticize this piece in detail without sounding really, really mean, but I can recommend some reading to help you get started. Zircon's ReMixing Tips Compendium on this page is a great starting point for learning how to do electronic music in general, despite being marketed as a remixing guide. Synthesis, production, music theory, it's all there. Give it a good read.

 

As far as music theory, here's a quick read on that subject.

 

Good luck, and keep at it. It definitely won't happen overnight, nobody's really born good at this stuff.

I am trying to take an abstract approach, but it seems like it needs more thought put into it.
