Arctic was sitting at the bar minding her own business, with about 20 empty glasses around her, when out of the corner of her eye she saw somepony duck down under a table. Instinctively she reacted, levitating the table and bumping it against the ceiling "And just what are you hiding from?" She asked in a demanding tone to the Zebra. Her horn began to glow from the base as she prepared a response - "You spyin' welp?" she demanded again

"Hmmm....You're a quiet one aren't you...Do you have a name ?" He asked. 

*Of course she has a name, What kind of pony doesnt ?* *You don't.* *Yes I do, My name is Wind Slicer, I am just a part of you that...Has separated myself.* *If you separated yourself from me...Than you are a different pony.* *No, I am still you...Wait...What ? ugh, STOP SLICER.* *HAHAHA.* He thought, Still smiling at Star Rain.

"Ooooh. Fighting trees. I'm absolutely frightened." Démence joked. "When do we leave this dreaded place?" He was prepared to leave ASAP. He had hated other zebras since he was banished. Since then, he has wanted revenge. He thought he saw another zebra look his way, and ducked down below the table.

"We leave as soon as I'm convinced everypony's here, and the Amblezon's no laughing matter," North said irritably. He took a heavy book out of his saddlebag and thrust it at this zebra. The cover read Legends of the Jungle. He pulled out several more copies and set them on the table in front of him for everypony to help themselves to.

 

The unicorn raised an eyebrow "So you are our expadition leader? Well i'm not throwing questions around so yeah." He shrugged as he shook norths hoof. "I'm bright spark by the way." He sat down at the table and opened uis saddlebag. The bag contained various important items, a few gears and cogs to fiddle with, and a small contraption made of nothing more that a plastic casing, a metal gear and a piece of flint. It was designed to light fires. He put all the stuff back on and then pulled his machete. It was a cold steel kukri machete, the wooden handle was about 4 inches in length and the actuall blade being 13. It also emmit a faint blue glow at the tip as bright spark looked down it. Looking satified he sheathed it again and sat down, taking another drink of water.

North nodded. Finally, a pony he could relate to. He slid a copy of the book over to Bright Spark as well. "Help yourself. In this book is a detailed description of everything that I've confirmed to be in the jungle before, and vague ones of creatures rumoured to be in there." He flipped open his own copy, where under the official lettering of the ancient book, there was loopy, narrow words written in green ink. He recognised Evergreen's pen.

 Démence eyed the blue unicorn strangely. "Listen here, I've had to sneek into the zebra lands, through the desert and all the way to this god damned town without being spotted for this mission, so don't buck it up for me." He was ready to fight the mare if she gave him away at this point. In the middle of Timbucktu, if any guards found out, he would be a goner.

He looks at the book thrown to him. Looking through it, he sees different plants, creatures and other things that will be found in the jungle. "Huh. I guess more fun for me." He smirked.

Of course I have a name! Why would I not have one?! "Why do you want my name?" she asked slowly. It was the same tone she always used when talking to bullies. Then again, looks can be deceiving. But still, that tone. Part of me wonders if he has a multiple personality disorder or something...

Arctic paused for a second, examining the Zebra - such strange creatures they where...before she lowered the table back to the ground. "My apologies" she replied rather calmly now. 

 

As she went to turn herself back to the bar, she saw a pegasus who seemed to be by himself looking a little distressed. 

She sat at the table by him calmly and said "well that didn't go as expected" more to herself than anything, before looking at the Pegasus. 

"Frostbite" She said rather bluntly with a nod of her head.

Okay... according to my note... the ponies are suppose to be somewhere in the Zebra lands... thank Celestia I was already here and didn't have to make that trek across the dessert in such short notice... Unholy Sight thought to herself as she walked into a building.

I hear ponies... that must be them... she thought, walking up to the group of ponies. she sat down and listened to the conversation, double checking that these ponies were her companions for the journey.

Bright spark took the copy and began reading through most of it. The one thong that intersted him were the trees. He knew that plants were alive, and could be controlled. And somewhqt talk. But to have full controll of their own AND be hostile? They wouldjt like him the.

North shook his head. "The jungle's never been fully explored. Part of the reason I was so eager to lead this expedition for Celestia. Here, look," he pulled a furled scroll out of his saddlebag and opened it. Upon it was an outline of the jungle, which appeared to take up most of a continent, and a tiny, linear portion was filled in, extending from the northeast coast about a quarter of the way to the center. "I've been before, and this is the most-completed map of the jungle there is. You can't fly over the trees there; they're too tall. And the body of the jungle is full of all sorts of murderous creatures. I nearly died last time." His voice trailed away. Not a fond memory. He jabbed a hoof at a small heart drawn in the exact centre of the map of the jungle. "And this is our goal. The heart."

Well, I mine as well introduce myself, since we're going to work together... I guess... "Star... Star Rain," the unicorn known as Star Rain replied. I can defend myself fine. I'm not some wimpy little unicorn who is bound to run. Not on my life! That determination almost made her glow like a burning coal.

Okay... these must be the ponies... Unholy thought, as she pulled out her copy of the book from her saddle bag. she flipped through the pages and ran her hoof across the text. Yup, these are definitely the ponies. she concluded, closing the book, then walking over to the group.

She accidentally bumped into a couple of the ponies as she walked over.

"Hello. I couldn't help but over hear all of you talking about a journey... did you all receive a letter from Princess Celestia?" she asked.

She sat at the table by him calmly and said "well that didn't go as expected" more to herself than anything, before looking at the Pegasus.

He just sat down when he saw an ice blue unicorn sit right next to him. She introduced herself as Frostbite and then he nodded his head back. Leaf also saw some other ponies who were on the ship; there is an teal unicorn, who seemed a bit artificial, a zebra, a weirdly colored earth pony who seemed unbeatable in a fight match, another zebra who seemed slightly colored, and a pegasus who looked like he should belong in a strait jacket, and of course the expedition leader and the ice cold unicorn who he just met.

"Sounds like fun." He felt as though he was being spied on. He desperately hoped it wasn't other zebras. " We going to be here much longer?" He was determined to leave right away.

 Démence turned to look at the zebra who had approached the group. "What do you want?" He quickly said. "You here to lock me up again? Because it's not happening. I'll kill you before you do that. Or are you trying to ruin the expedition because I'm in it? Hmmm? Get everypony killed?" He wasn't fond of the newcomer because she was a zebra, and Démence was banished from the zebra lands.

She looked at him curiously, "You're not very talkative are you?" She had brought a drink with her from the bar - instead of drinking it, she decided to use it to test her magic. She raised the water out of the glass, froze it solid, melted it and poured it back into the glass. The glass shattered at the sudden temperature change, pouring water all over the table. "Oops, ha, my fault." she said, freezing the puddle before it spread too far. "So, what was your name?" She asked the Pegasus indirectly, keeping a very keen eye on the shifty Zebra.

"okay, hold on there... this is my first time being to the Zebra Lands, i don't even know who you are! i'm not going to lock you up." Unholy said, turning towards the voice of the other Zebra.

"and may i ask... what are you? are you a zebra? earthpony? Pegasus? or maybe a unicorn?" she asked, a bit confused. she looked back down, slightly embarrassed.

He pulled out knife in a sheath and strapped it to his left back leg, He grabbed his canteen and took a sip of water.

I don't believe that's normal for zebras." Démence still didn't trust the zebra, but, if she wasn't from the zebra lands, he guessed he was safe. He was ready to attack at any point. Realizing how loud he had been, he looked around. Now he was sure that other zebras had seen him. "Damnit!" He exclaimed.

Seeing the other pony was still being silent - she glanced at him at spoke again - "I'll be right back" she said, leaving the frozen pool on the table as she hopped over to the other Unicorn Mare in the room who was sat with the one she knew as Slicer. "Glad to see im not the only mare here"

"If you ask me, that sounds ridiculous!" she exclaimed, stomping one hoof on the ground.

Slicer laughed. "I'm Not A Mare." He said. "What I am...Is a pony who want's another beer before we leave...So do excuse me." He smiled at the two mare's and walking over to the bar. He ordered another beer and sat down.

*We need to figure these ponies out...Do they like Cupcakes.* *I dunno...But I will find out soon enough.*
