New OC - Kindle Spark

Hi, everypony!! I was thinking about this OC for a while now, so I finally decided to make a vector.

 

 

I need someone to help me with her name (her cutiemark is a red, orange, yellow and silver comet with stars on it). I want to start a fanfic with her as the main character. I was thinking of making an Amnesia "The Dark Decent" pony crossover, otherwise, any other creepy/dramatic story would be cool.

 

^EDIT^ I just decided her name will be KINDLE SPARK!!!

 

Personality:

-Easily startled, and very nervous when she doesn't know what's going on.

-Often gets upset and frustrated when things go wrong.

-Loves to rough house (acts like she was raised in a family of all boys).

-Always finds a solution to any puzzle/problem.

-Kinda tom boyish (like RD), but loves to flirt with male ponies.

-Has many emotional breakdowns, yet never quits.

-Top notch-skilled smart alec.

-Very kind and supportive for others (who don't get on her nerves too much).

-Always hopeful.

-Adventurous

Your OC seems very similar to Holden Caulfield from Catcher in the Rye. Which I find to be an amazing book in my opinion. Don't know if you've read it though. Anywho, as for the name the only thing I could come up with is Meteor Shower but i'm sure someone is using that name but hey it's a start right?

Gotta love Amnesia, so I'd go for it.

 

This will be my first crique, so I apologize.

 

I like the colours, I gotta say. Dark coats with vibrant manes are pretty cool, it makes it stand out a bit more. I also like the choice for the eye colour, though it seems to clash with the blue in the mane a little bit. (To me, anyway.. )

 

Good vector, I love using them for figuring out colours, but I'd also love to see a drawing of it..the only thing that I DON'T like about vectoring is that it just looks like a recolour of whatever pony the vector is of.

So unless her mane is exactly like RD's, I'd change it a bit to give her more of a defining trait.

 

As for a name...I SUCK with names.

Ah..the first thing that came to my mind was Sky Fright, just because of her being startled easily. You could give her a very unique name and have it as Noia, which could be short for Paranoia.

I'm not very good at naming other people's OC's, so I'm sorry.

 

Good OC though, I like her personality. Again, the eye colour kinda goes against the mane colour/s, but not enough to make it look bad. She's pretty ^-^

Try to come up with a different style for her mane though...the first thing I think is RD recolour when I look at her.

First thing that came to mind was Jitter Bug but that's been taken I believe. Let me brainstorm for a second here. Amnesia aye? How about Dark Decent? Nope, that's okay, more brainstorming needed then. Shell Shock, because of the seemingly split personalities. Never mind, I didn't like that one. Okay, I'll just spit out names now. Quick Wit, Doom Stellar, Protostar, Gravastar.

Well, being jumpy isn't something that represents her (she's nowhere near as timid as Fluttershy). She's mostly a positive, hopeful type of pony. The other personality traits are just part of her character.

 

I want a beautiful name that means "light", or "star" or "comet". A name that tells me a lantern of hope is going to lead her to safety. I have been hanging over the name "Candle Light" for a while now, but I still am not sure.

 

EDIT:

 

WAIT!!! KINDLE SPARK! Doesn't that sound good?! Wow, it sounds nice and everything!

First critique? It's a very pro critique if you ask me!

 

With the "Amnesia" story (because she doesn't remember anything), I might make it so she gives herself that name (Kindle Spark), to at least get herself an identity. I will probably start the fanfic very soon, depending on how much spare time is available to me.

 

I think I'm set, except for the fact that I haven't played Amnesia... I think I need the experience in order to come up with what I'm going to write, so I better start playing...

In the design, I do not like OC's that looks like canon characters, because the beauty of creating OC's is that they don't have restraints of creativity because they come from your mind and imagination. Why does she looks like Rainbow Dash? Have you ever seen a pony like Motion or Beat in MLP? the answer is an obvious no!

 

Why would you do an OC that looks like Rainbow Dash? I suggest to change her mane and tail to something different, the color paletter is not convicing for me....gray, with this mint lightblue and what's that? pale orange? I have to be honest, I don't like the colors, good vector though. Her personality is OK too.

 

Kindle Spark? hmmm...I do like the name, I'm sure you was very aware that I name all my OC's Spark as well, I don't know why you chose Spark too.

Kindle Spark looks like a very fantastic pony indeed, I can imagen her being best friends with Raindow Dash, Hmmmm.... You've got me thinking.. Thinking about a fanfic..

I like it. I don't see a lot of OC's out here I like, but yours seems very interesting. Aside from the hair, it's very original (Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, I used Fluttershy's hair for my OC. Sue me (actually, please don't, it would only create problems)).

 

What I'm really curious to learn more about is the character's backstory. Now that would be interesting.
