I get what you're saying, that crown is meant to be a symbol of her authority, which she earned through heroic deeds and being a good ally to her kingdom.

However if a tiara can be used for fashion, why not a crown?

Perhaps if I focus on cuteness of MLP FIM I can get my mind off the chaos in the real world I can do nothing about. I agree though Twilight Sparkle is adorable.
