Who would make a good leader when Twilight isn't around?

RainbowDash would probably put herself up for the leader role mainly because shes the most outspoken and is always the first one to act. The only problem is AJ is a lot more responsible then her but i don't think AJ would be the best leader either because she tends to be very stuburn about things and makes some stupid choices without thinking

I figure in Twilight's absence, the rest of the mane 6 would go back to living their ordinary lives -- the ones they were living before Twilight came to Ponyville.

 

Without the ability to wield the Elements of Harmony, there wouldn't be much to do that would require leading.

Quite frankly, I find it silly that you would consider Twilight Sparkle the "leader" of the six. While Twilight Sparkle may be the most prominent figure of the group, she certainly isn't the "leader". If anything, they are all leaders. They all balance each other out and guide each other. They all have unique strengths, weaknesses, and personalities, and thus are all leaders.

 

However, in the absence of Twilight Sparkle, I would assume that their friendship would continue to grow, and that they would all guide each other in more ways than they already have.

Just a thought that crossed my mind.  I think it's save to say that Fluttershy or Pinkie Pie wouldn't lead the group.

 

I'd say Rainbow Dash because she's always the first to act.  She's always telling the whole group to get moving, so she'd take charge with Twilight absent.

 

However, if it was up to Twilight to put someone in charge, I think she'd be more likely to pick AJ.  She's the most level-headed one in the group and would be the most logical choice.

Okay so I think Twilight would appoint Apple Jack as the temporary leader, because AJ does kind of lead her family, plus she's a hard worker and she has common sense. However, remember when AJ tried to buck all of those apples by herself, and refused to ask for help until the last five minutes?

 

If Twilight didn't appoint anyone, I think RD would lead them, because honestly she is a good leader, she's just stubborn and needs a lesson in compassion/empathy/sympathy.

Overall, Applejack is without a doubt the best leader for the Mane 6 when Twilight's absent. She's wise and mature, she has Rainbow Dash's courage but not her recklessness, and she knows how to get things done.

 

But I think that if Twilight had a choice, she would pick Rainbow Dash. Why? Because the only reason she would intentionally appoint a second-in-command is if she was going into some really dangerous situation and needed a leader to help the other ponies escape if she didn't make it. That's one area where Dash has the advantage over AJ.

Applejack should and would be appointed by Twilight to lead the mane six otherwise.

1. Her wisdom.

2. Higher maturity level, at least in the other's comparison.

AppleJack is, in my opinion, the best leader after Twilight. However, if Twilight left, I don't think she would appoint a leader. She'd be a more democratic pony.
