Looking for Artists and Spriters for RPG (Edited OP Sorry for the BIG mistake!)

Hello

It's us from the Tales of Equestria game developing team again P:

We're creating a Pony RPG with Unity D: the game's in 2D but it's at a low angle and we're using real time combat rather than turn based.

Development's sorta died however because I've been ill and I had exams as well so couldn't dedicate my team to directing the team's efforts but more seriously a lot of our artists have disappeared, including our lead artist which was a pretty big loss.

Our team's built upon the foundations of unity and dedication, all our team is still active despite the random loss of our artists :P Our team's actually active and doing stuff. We hope to see this project to the end.

We're looking for artists who would be happy doing any of these

  • Panels (for dialogue)
  • Landscapes
  • Sprite Art (we'll need 1 pony here only, to be dedicated for the whole time :D)
  • Concept Art :D
If you've got a unique style then that'll be cool for the game ^-^ Don't worry :P we're just looking for some material at least. Spriting especially, we don't mind what type of sprites you create. 'Mind though that they'll have to be around this size

If you know anyone that would be interested as well please redirect them to this thread

Pretty please?

Whoops forgot to mention to check out our website at http://talesofequestria.mlpforums.com

I'll make everything viewable for the while, we went into incognito mode earlier :P

Check out our art and music! Game build doesn't have a host site atm so it's not playable through that link. Our latest confirmed story is here http://talesofequestria.mlpforums.com/thread-60-post-1365.html#pid1365 (still changing about, not completely finalized, but 80% confirmed, it's just mainly to be beefed out with missions and gameplay)

BIG EDIT: I derped out so you couldn't really see our forums properly, hopefully it should be working now ^-^ go check it out!

For the love of Luna! I have a project which is titled "Tale of Equestria" as well, and it's also built in Unity3d, but the difference is that my project is in 3d, not 2d. Maybe we need to change our title.

It will be an MMORPG about Lunar Republic and Solar Empire. The development is pretty good now.

If I may ask, how's the progress going and how about the current team (because it's hurt to join a team which dies easily)? Is it offline RPG or online? I need those information before I go further. ;)

Name wise, we maybe thinking of a change as we'd want it to suit the game's story

Primarily, yea it's an offline RPG, very story based.

Development, well we had just finished our planning stage which included finding a place to meet up, getting the teams sorted and finalising our epic story + characters and how everything's gonna work there.

With the story done we were precisely at the moment where we could start actual development. We did about a couple of weeks of work, got landscapes and sprites and audio and concept art going. Dialogue scripting started as well. We had a simple build in progress and combat systems being worked out.

But now with our artists randomly disappearing we have no actual visual content to put into our game P: and development's stopped until we get some artists ^-^

The current team is still very active and dedicated, just had nothing to do in a while. Our team's focused on dedication and unity ;) we've got a Skype group with everyone and we just chat all the time. Skype group's pretty useful not only for keeping everypony together but also for meetings so that everypony's always got something to work on and that the game's in continuous development.

Oh yea we're using Unity4

D: Our team doesn't die easily! P: we just had random disappearances from our art team. Honestly, they just disappear with no reason ('cept for one who has been burdened by schoolwork) I dunno I've been trying to contact them all in a multitude of different ways, but no reply :P

Rest of the team's intact.

If you want to check out our game a bit more, I've opened everything up @ http://talesofequestria.mlpforums.com (don't steal ideas, especially our enemy ideas!) just so you can check it out a bit. Concept Art and Music have some materials and the latest confirmed version of our story's here http://talesofequestria.mlpforums.com/thread-60-post-1365.html#pid1365

The latest build of our game needs a new host site (any ideas where to host it?) so it's not up atm :P but I hope you get a good enough feel of what's happening from these materials.

i'd love to help, but im kinda already helping with the modding of a rom as it is :L so i wouldnt want to double book myself :P but if you dont find anyone i can probably lend a hand :)

Cool ^-^

Work shouldn't be too heavy, so you should be fine :D

Got any of your own artwork to share? I'll be able to suit a job to you easier that way :P

P: I'll see.

For the while check da wobsite http://talesofequestria.mlpforums.com and hit up a thread on the recruitment section.

I'll be fine if you're working on what you're most comfortable doing.

Um add zornarka on Skype now and tell him to add you to The trusty vessel RainbowCloud.

Sounds like an interesting project that you have going and the position of concept artist and possibly landscape artist has peaked my interest though I am not sure of my current level of drawing skills would be enough.  Regardless, I do have a few questions; how much content would you require from your artist so that the project would move along at a smooth pace and would it be a of a liability if an artist only has access to traditional media for drawing as opposed to digital?  I would not wish to offer help if I would not be able to keep up with the work or produce the level of quality you desire and ultimately was your time.

;) Haha Yeah!

Our last landscape artist who was the lead was also like yourself :P he did traditional art mainly. Although he was extremely talented, don't worry about that though, we're a team, we're always giving advice on how to improve :)

It seemed he worked really quickly but in fact it was actually quite slow :P usually taking a coupla weeks or something to complete, but if you keep consistent then that'd be really great!

Follow our website to the recruitment section and please sign up by following the guideline we set out! :P You can check out some landscape art in the concept art folder.

Concept Art would be cool as well. You could have a go at enemy concepts P: that's an awesome job.

Deadlines will be made so that they are not over burdensome P: I assure you. We like to work at a steady pace so all our work is great quality and continuous.

Umm,I Reckon I Could Help Out A Bit, Probably With The Dialogue Panels, Although I Use A Program Called GIMP, So I Hope That Wont Be To Much Of A Problem.

Alright! Sign up for recruitment in the recruitment section of our forums over here http://talesofequestria.mlpforums.com
GIMP shouldn't be a problem :P it's widely used.

Wait I'm confused now, so you want to do dialogue panels but on your application all you showed was 3D models? D: Got any examples of your artwork which is more suitable for the job lol?
You were supposed to make a new thread as well! Not post in someone else's application xD

Regarding the 3D models we're interested in using that for the game, do you think you could help out with that?

Alright so just post a new thread in our website, we'll get stuff sorted from there http://talesofequestria.mlpforums.com/forum-17.html Also if you add me on Skype (Fubzinator) that'd be great as well.

Did you not manage to get zornarka then? :P just add me on Skype then, Fubzinator, I'll get you sorted, and get an application done in the recruitment section http://talesofequestria.mlpforums.com/forum-17.html :D Edited by Fubz
