I am Lunar Fire 198 February 19, 2013 Share February 19, 2013 Concerning Equestria Girls, all of us already thought MLP was only for little girls and that it wasn't a good idea to watch this crap. *Poof* Over a million bronies. Point made, I will try this show and see if it lives up to MLP's reputation. If it doesn't I will simply stop watching it. You have the right to your opinion and not watch it, but I will be with the ones that will give it a try. And crash and burn if it sucks. ShutterFly! 30 February 20, 2013 Share February 20, 2013 I think E - Girls is a terrible idea. It sort of ruins the point of the characters we grew to love, and replaces them with, humanized versions 0.o ugh.
Princes Cadance 345 February 20, 2013 Share February 20, 2013 I don't think Alicorn Twilight ruins the show, she's just going to change the way it goes. That said I would actually rather see humanized ponies because I think that will be interesting, but if they really do that, I hope it isn't too corny and fake (as in geared towards little girls) since Hasbro has known for some time their main audience has become teens. TailsIsNotAlone 3,695 February 20, 2013 Share February 20, 2013 Quinn Morgendorffer is not amused. Honestly, I would take neither. Those concepts are not only uninteresting but bothersome. Is there any way to put Princess Twilight in Equestria Girls, so we can have the real Twilight back and the show can go on the right way? -_- "Human beings fascinate me Being just the way they are..." Beta 42 February 20, 2013 Share February 20, 2013 I'm one of the few people who will gladly take both. I'm actually excited about Equestria Girls and can't wait to see it. I might feel differently if I thought it would take away from the show I already love, but I don't think it will. As far as Princess Twilight, I think that it has a lot of potential. I'm not going to freak out until I actually see it going into a bad direction. Since she will have to gain so much power and responsibility, it definititely gives a chance to shine on some adult morals.
Galen 1,354 February 20, 2013 Share February 20, 2013 Princess Twilight by a landslide. I personally think that she will not affect the way the show is anywhere near as much as people are fearing. Equestria Girls just seems like an obvious cash-in. Sure, princess Twilight may be a cash in as well, but at least it has potential. This. I used to be against the idea of a permanent Twilight until I watched the episode MMC. I didn't like the idea of such a huge change in the dynamic of the main characters and likely the side characters as well, what with Twilight being a Princess now. However, despite how rushed the episode appeared to be, it was amazingly well-written. The pacing is really the only thing I can complain about but I do have faith the writers will be abel to pull off a new story/stories with the princess quite well. I'm not sure what to think about Equestria girls but I may well try it out to see what it's like, but considering I felt the same way about FiM before someone suggested it to me, being open to the idea of human ponies isn't a bad thing. RWB 229 February 20, 2013 Share February 20, 2013 We are all watching a show most people judged to be not worth watching due to the promise in MLP. At least extend that courtesy to EG. If it's bad, drop it like a hot potato. But go in with an unbiased mind, or you will nitpick it to pieces, even if it blows FiM out of the water. "The meaning of life? Wandering-Flare 71 February 20, 2013 Share February 20, 2013 Equestria Girls, I am actually quite excited for. I feel I'm amongst the few that actually enjoy their human designs and think they're fitting. Kinda disappointed that the Pre-Pegasi have lost their wings, and the Pre-Unicorns have lost their horns... but they ARE humans after all, so I guess I can't really complain at all. And I personally feel Rainbow shouldn't have her hair in a pony tail... doesn't seem very free-spirited and all... well it looks like a pony-tail... urk, I can't tell...... However, I'm quite excited to see where it goes. And besides, if it's not decent, you don't have to pin it to the show, since I doubt it will have little to no canon implications anyways. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Mand'alor Dash 2,224 March 20, 2013 Share March 20, 2013 Twilight, keep the wings, just don't grow hands. Twilicorn may have messed with my headcanons, but Equestria Girls is toxic to the show's very existence. I don't want to see the mane 6 as humans, and certainly not in a high school environment. MLP is about equines in a fantasy world who deal with fictionalized problems similar to those of real life. Humans and high school don't factor into that at all. It ruins the fantasy, the mythos, the originality, and the storytelling of FiM. Even if it's non-canon, it's still a slap in the face to everything that the show stands for. Amoral cynic with a bitchin' vocabulary. Check out A Century of Song if you like music from before this millennium. Twilicorn3777 13 March 20, 2013 Share March 20, 2013 I like the idea of Princess Twilight way better than humanized mane six, ponies are ponies, ponies aren't humans, and that's that.
Commander_PonyShep 349 June 17, 2013 Author Share June 17, 2013 I know I've asked this question in a previous thread. However, after watching the last thirteen minutes of the film recorded on someone else's camera, rather than the actual film itself, I'd still prefer Alicorn Princess Twilight Sparkle. At the very least, it was a moment when Twilight came-of-age as a leader and an independent adult. Equestria Girls, on the other hand, made no sense, didn't fit within the context of the G4 FiM universe, and was just a cheap cash-grab for Monster High. Party Cannon 876 June 17, 2013 Share June 17, 2013 Just saw it... I went in, nervous and expecting the worst, and... IT WAS GREAT! (phew) It's basically one very long weird episode. As for Alicorn Twilight, I was very perturbed by it. In EG her being a princess is central to the story, however it did address a few things that Magical Mystery Cure didn't have time to explain, so it actually made me comfortable with her alicorn-ness [still think it's kinda dumb]. I still think she is going to give up her princess-hood in the Season 4 Premiere, choosing to spend time with her friends over royalty. So yeah, Equestria Girls has my vote.

Kind of like your theory, other than. Twilight being a princess pretty much made EqG. If she was not a princess then it would make no sense to even make the movie. Twilight will be a princess but, not for long. She will give it because, that's the Friendship of Magic. 1 Louis Fire Striker Lightning Blitz Want a free signature? quantum flux 89 June 17, 2013 Share June 17, 2013 I prefer Twilicorn over ponies being turned human. Honestly, the idea of them becoming human in the first place just rips apart the the whole idea. And it doesn't make sense, the animation is kinda off..but that is just my opinion so. Don't bash me for it. I will always prefer Twilicorn. She's perf. .u. Guest June 17, 2013 Share June 17, 2013 Still haven't watched it. Not sure if I'll get the chance any time soon, either. The nearest theater showing it is an hour or so away from home.
True Rarity 1,240 June 20, 2013 Share June 20, 2013 I also haven't seen this movie but I really want to judging by the reactions. Right now, however, I'm about equal. It's true that if Twilicorn didn't exist, neither would this movie, so I'm going to wait and see. My deviantART
duidamasterXD 9,627 June 22, 2013 Share June 22, 2013 I know I've asked this question in a previous thread. As your topic was admittedly identical to another that you created months ago, they have been merged together. One thread is sufficient to discuss which concept we prefer. Golurk 468 June 23, 2013 Share June 23, 2013 EqG. Very easily. I have yet to see it (and it'll probably be a while before I do), but I have every confidence that it'll be good. At the very least, it doesn't affect canon. Even after all this time, I still despise AliTwi. Much less than before, and probably much more than I will in the future. But I'm still incredibly turned off by the idea. And at this point in time, I don't see my view changing. Indeed.
Thrashy 2,800 June 23, 2013 Share June 23, 2013 (edited) Gonna go with AliTwi just to spite the general consensus. Because I'm a dick like that. Not to mention I think it's vastly unfair and childish to make such wild prejudgments on what AliTwi will do to the show, considering season 4 hasn't even aired yet. You'd think "reservation of judgment" would be a fairly common practice within a fandom that preaches "love and tolerate" to no end. ...Then again, given that people were so quick to give EqG a thorough tongue lashing back when it was thought to be a spinoff series, I probably shouldn't be surprised at this kind of behavior within the fandom anymore.
