Heh... You know how I may be unable to get the game today? Well... I might get back in time before my Gamestop closes, so I can get it! When I get home, first thing I'm doing is popping my disc in to get the update running, then get on here to give my NNID :3 Also, you remember Kid Icarus: Uprising, Big Mac? Good times, eh?

I remember those days, good times. So your getting Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for WiiU? The 3DS version doesn't have online multiplayer.

Yeah, I got it.

Love the new opening, CG rendered in 3D on 3DS like Fire Emblem Awakening's opening which is nice. Made a character who's pretty much exactly like my main Tri one(even though the facial hair options aren't exactly the same). The village scene when you start the game is also redone in 3D, awesome. Other than that, the opening segments were the exact same as Tri's save for a few sprinklings of new information, that's to be expected though, I look forward to playing more.

Man... Now I really want to play, but I wanted to wait a little longer because I know I won't have time to play.
And why aren't the lance or bowgun getting more love, they are OP. D:
It's so easy to not get hit with those, and also to stay focused on the monster part you want to cut or attack.

Bowgun is great because you can just pierce everything and do a couple of paralyzes here and then.
With the Lance you can stick to the monster and dance with it by just evading its attacks. :3
But I think the Great Sword is my favourite because it's multipurpose and it's the cheapest way to 'beat' the game as you can just forge one or two the whole game; you also don't have to change armor or sword every time a different quest is posted.

I haven't had the pleasure of paying these games yet but I recently got a PSP and I hear Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is the definitive MH experience so I'm gonna try that but I definitely wanna get Ultimate on Wii-U when I someday get one of those. xD

MHFU is great, and playing it on my Vita is the main reason I'm so disappointed there aren't any announced MH games for non-Nintendo systems. Not that I dislike Nintendo, I just love having dual analog sticks and strongly dislike the Wii U.

They used to be pretty much exclusive to the Sony platform.  Monster Hunter 3 Portable is for the PSP (came out after Tri) and there is a Monster Hunter 3 Portable HD Edition for the PS3.  However, not sure if those ever made it to the states.

I just hopped online last night, and boy did I have fun! Got to reach HR 2 and was able to make a Bolt Axe, the Lagi SA :3 And I'm just now at the 3 star urgent too

Been really enjoying this game for the most part, even though SP seems a little easier(or maybe it's just because I've played most of this before) I quite like the new monsters so far, and the old ones are still fun too. But it seems they removed subquests, so you can't get extra money and materials like you could in Tri for them. Anyway, I've been using the lance, dual blades, greatsword, long sword, and hammer so far(mostly lance) and really loving this game, this is what Tri should have been in the first place.

This game is awesome and very time consuming as well . I just beat Qurupeco on my second attempt using a long sword after failing the first time with a great sword (ran out of time), i have to say it feels amazing to finally take down a monster after such a long and intense battle.

 

Can't wait to take down some monsters with you guys online, i'm sure that will be loads of fun and will teach me alot about the game.

Because I can, bringing this back to life. I'm at 5-star quests offline now, and Duramboros... That thing is just annoying... He has to be the first monster to have taken me over 30 minutes to kill... X_X

Personally, I feel like the whole Tri series is a lot easier than the previous ones...  Still love the series though!  Greatsword FTW

Heh, I just got the Kelbi Stingshot. (The OP weapon) It feels so powerful. Does anyone know any armor that can give you the awakening skill? I need it to give it to my gunner so that I can use Slime on my Kelbi bow. It will then be ultimately unbeatable.

 

Also, I just need someone to help me farm... please? I need some Steel Uragaan stuff. To be exact, Steel Uragaan scutes. 4 to be exact.

No one seems to want to farm with me or even play with Steel Ura. I've met a lot of people yesterday who promised to do Steel Ura but then never really kept their word. It just pissed me off so much. I did all their quests and then they just leave me at the end when it's my turn... it's so frustrating! No one wants to farm Ura with me. D: Also, if you want to do Brachy, give me a few more hours or a day before I'll do Brachy again. I just killed him about 8 times in a day. It's tiring and boring to see his face now.

 

Also, I finally got a new set of armor good for my lancer. :3

Can't really help ya in the quest, seeing as I have the 3DS version, I can however give you some tips as to what you can take with you to make solo-ing as easy as possible. Never forget, it's always possible to solo a monster hunter game, multiplayer is awesome, but never necessary.

 

 

Duramboros is most definitely my favorite thus far.  Really funny monster XD

 

I still wish they had made it so he flees the area by doing his spinning helicopter attack, that would be amazing.

It's true that the multiplayer monsters have increased health, but when I said solo-ing the whole game I meant solo-ing the whole game?. When I said multiplayer wasn't necessary I meant multiple players aren't necessary.

Also, mate, the lance is awesome!

While the hardest to master it is arguably the best weapon in the game for solo-ing. Just give it some time and you'll be poking through lagiacrusses like it's nothing. I myself am more of a greatsword guy, and I can get pretty decent times with longswords, but I always find myself outclassed by my lancer friend.

Hey guys, quick status report: I just cleared the Ceadeus repel urgent, and opened up HR quests offline! And man... Misty Peaks is GORGEOUS!

 

Oh yeah! Since I mentioned Ceadeus, let me just say this: I AM LUCKY 0.0 I got the Deep Dragongem first go-around in the Ceadeus urgent, without even aiming for it!

Man, gotta love that Wroggi armor- poison resistance, double sharpness, plus it makes you look like a badass cowboy!

Anyway, I've been taking my time in the 3DS version, getting all the equipment I can from monsters before moving on to the next one. Dual Blades are definitely becoming my favorite weapon though, it's fun to just slice 'n dice with 'em. I'm really warming up to the hammer too, didn't like it much before but now I think it's a great weapon after just pounding away at stuff with it.

I got a Dark Dragongem (or whatever it is) on my first try and on my second try I got a Deep Dragongem. What luck! Same goes with Jho. First try in 3U and I got a Jho gem.

 

First time I fought Glacial Agnaktor and I got 2 Wyvern Stones... yesterday was a good day.

 

I played P3rd and yeah! Misty Peaks has a really great view. :3 It was just so nice...

Just killed Ceadus the Goldbearded and reached Hunter Rank 6 (Also known as G RANK). Sorry if I haven't been online for a while, I also just got Luigi's Mansion and the new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon so I've been switching between 3 games.
