What would have Queen Chrysalis do if she ruled Equestria

Let's say Chrysalis succeeded in her quest to take over equestria. What would she do? Would she force the ponies into slavery like Sombra. How would she keep the ponies in line? I think it be cool if the changelings could convert a pony into a changeling. Making them these assimilators. What's your vision if Chrysalis ruled? How could she keep Celestia subdued?

She would probably force all of the ponies to fall in love, so that the Changelings can eat their love so to speak. Chrysalis might keep Celestia, Luna, Cadence, and Shining Armor down in the place where she kept Twilight. She would basically rule Equestria with an iron hoof.

Equestria would basically just become an Imperial colony for the Changeling Kingdom. The Changelings would plunder the love and the resources of Equestria for their own benefit but keep the ponies well fed and looked after so they could keep feeding off them. I actually imagine some ponies possibly benefiting from Changeling rule.

She would turn each city into a feeding ground and the ponies into cattle. All those that resist would be eliminated. To keep life energy abundant she would probably let the ponies go on about their ways but the ones making all the important decisions would be herself and the pony military would be no more. Celestia would probably be killed.

All i can say is...one gaint feeding ground but i do have to agree, she would keep them safe and well feed. When you're supplied with an endless source of something you want, you better keep it safe and sound from anyone wanting what you want.

Why would chrysalis want to convert ponies into changelings?

I mean lets start with the fact that she currently has enough changelings to take over canterlot.  That's already a huge number.   What do they do? EAT.  That's why she was taking over canterlot to to begin with,  so she'd have enough food for her 1000's of spawn.

All converting ponies into changelings does is eliminate her foodsource.   Literally,   it's the classic "zombie failure".  namely having your foodsource as your means of production only ever fails in the end.

This brings to light "What exactly do changelings eat"  Well they eat love.   So that means Chrysalis is going to have to set up some LOVE FARMS.  Don't mistaken these for lust farms cloppers,  those are completely different emotions.   Since changelings can take the form of,  anypony.......they would have to take forms of somepoines dream pony, seduce them,  and then they can begin to feed off of love.

For instance,  Chrysalis took the form of Cadence,  and sapped the love out of Shining Armour.  So yeh....that's pretty much that.  Love farms.  LOVEEEEEE

She would more or less enslave all of Equestria with her changelings and have the changelings feed off the love for them and their loved ones and stuff, since Equestrias full of friendships which could possibly be used in the same sense as love for a food then I imagine the changelings would be set.

It would be basically all changelings along with mind slaved Ponies.

The IDW comic actually provides a canon explanation of what happens when the changelings take over an area. They immediately feed off the populace's love (I'd assume they use less blunt infiltration tactics for high level security regions like Equestria), keeping some alive to feed off of in the long run, assimilate the local environment into a makeshift changeling kingdom (i.e. like the martians in War of the Worlds except with cocoons instead of red weed). This implies that there is no actual changeling country; they're nomads that move from country to country, stripping each of its resources before moving on to the next.

One interesting (and disturbing) detail brought to light is that the changelings don't only feed off love. Let's just say that those carnivore teeth ain't for show...

Actually, it does not necessarily mean they don't have a homeland. They could turn those areas they conquer into imperial colonies, like an empire of sorts.

Comics explictly state they conquer, feed and move on to the next. What's the point of staying behind is there is nothing to feed off of and the Queen isn't present?

I only really take the comics as semi-canon. But yes, that is a good point. We'll just have to see what the show have to say about it when or if they appear in that again? I mean, if there is a contradiction between the show and comic, I'll side with the show.

As much as I'm loving the comics so far. I have to agree with this. And I'm getting the irking feeling that contradictions may arise. But there's also the fact that FiM is going to span into novels, with the first one centering around Twilicorn and Cadence's rise to Princesshood. Meghan McCarthy mentioned to me at the signing in Unicon that they plan to expand in-show mythologies in those books. No comments on her part on the comics though, but I don't think it rules out the canonicity of the comics. Andy Price mentioned in his panel at Unicon how his team is aware of in-show things in advance.

I personally like the take the comics have one the Changelings. Andy Price in his Unicon panel also mentioned how he sees Chrysalis as a monster. Only time will tell if the show will pick up on this interpretation or not.

She would realize nopony loves her and fial and then...she shall commit suicide.

Chrysalis: No love! I cannot feed!
Changelings: We love you!
Chrysalis: No you don't!
Changeling: That's true.
Changelings: *death glare*
Chrysalis: Goodbye cruel world! *Jumps*
Ponies + Changelings: *gasp*
Chrysalis* *ker-splat*

Awkward silence.

Ponies: REVOLUTION
Changelings: Buck!

I don't know about that. To what the comic shows, the Changelings feed off of the inhabitants of that area and do not care about them. They keep a few around, but in the end they would just feed off that groups love until they run out and just move to the next area.

If you ask me Queen Chrysalis operates in the same way as King Sombra did. She would enslave them, Keep them in bad living conditions, there would be a lot of fire, eat their love and move on when there is nothing left.

Well, if her plan worked, she wouldn't have had to toss away her disguise. I imagine she'd keep the form of Princess Cadence and use her position to disguise the draining effects of the changelings as a disease.

She would imprison some of the ponies and let her changelings take their place so they can feed off the love those ponies would have received  Not just the love between special some ponies either, but the love of a mother to her foal or the love of siblings or grandparents or the bond between friends. She might even have some of her changelings in the prison where she keeps the kidnapped ponies so they can feed off of those ponies as well as make sure none of them try to escape.

I haven't read the comic, so I don't know what it says about the changelings in there, but I imagine they have a psychic connection to each other, or at least to their queen, which is why their attack was much more visible in the show, but if Twilight never suspected anything or never managed to get Cadence out of the caves, I imagine that the shield around Canterlot would have fallen slower, with a few holes the changelings could sneak into and replace some pony. When the Shining Armor is too far gone, she'll call it a disease, which will be confirmed with many other ponies start getting "sick" as well.

Celestia wouldn't be able to stop it because, as we saw in the show, by the time they were at the wedding, Queen Chrysalis was already stronger than Celestia, so, given more time to power up, Celestia wouldn't stand a chance. She might even decide to destroy Celestia privately so she can take Celestia's place, maybe faking some wounds or illness to explain why she can't rise the sun, asking Luna for help. She'll tell every pony that Cadence was catching the disease and decided to go searching for a cure so that she can explain why Cadence is missing, if she even has to. At this position not only will she be able to take full advantage of Equestria, but she will be able to absorb all the love the ponies have for Celestia becoming even more powerful than she's ever been.

This will keep going on until they've used up enough of the resources that it's not longer worth sticking around and they'll leave Equestria a broken mess with the surviving ponies having to rebuild.

Well, ya see, I'm not sure if I personally do. I like to think the Changelings have their own society and culture. To me, that just makes it more interesting. Now sure, nomads have societies and cultures too, I mean look at the Huns and the modern day Gypsies, but I'd just like to see things like Changeling architecture, cities, families and social norms. Something like from the Far East like Japan and Korea would be particularly interesting.

Since the Changelings were thrown to the badlands that could also be like a desert and that got me thinking they could have a kind of Egyptian theme going on since she's like a bug and be like the locust. And since they feed off ponies like vampires they can have an undead variant going for them just like mummies. They swarm like locusts and eat up crops, all the hard work gone.
