"Well I sure didn't catch the last boat from Virbank for nothing." Leon responded sarcastically, shrugging off the comment about the lighthouse. Growlithe looked at Leon disapprovingly after his last comment.  "Err, yeah I'd like to battle you." Leon said with a sigh, pleasing Growlithe. "I suppose I could still go to the lighthouse if it's that important to you." he said.

Jasmine nodded. "It's up to you, really. If you want to battle now, we can battle now. Does three-on-three sound good to you?" 

 

From a side room emerged a tall man wearing dark glasses. Despite his receding steely gray hair and matching mustache, he appeared young. He couldn't have been much older than thirty. Clyde stood quietly in the corner, waiting to be called upon. It was his job to referee Gym battles, after all.

Stella smiled back at Jasmine, but quickly looked away to look around the gym. She was getting a bit more nervous with each second. Even so much as calling out Oddish would look bad, and she couldn't call out Absol first, in case he didn't listen to her.

 

Noticing the Bronzor hover towards her, she smiled nervously at it. It looked about a similar strength to Oddish, but had a large type advantage as well. Especially if she planned on using her venoshock combo.

 

Stella shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts, and looked back at the Bronzor.

Bronzor blinked comprehendingly, and began to spin rapidly. Jasmine looked over the boy's shoulder at it, and called, "Come now, Bronzor, stop showing off." It immediately stopped spinning and floated docilely back to Jasmine, who couldn't hide a faintly amused smile.

 

Feeling slightly embarrassed, Luna quickly dropped her hand as if she had never held it out to shake. "Um...y-yea. The lighthouse." She said.

Abra was feeling a little less shy now and he slowly came out from behind Luna's leg. "Aby and I go there ever day." She said, unsure what else to say.

((OMG, I completely missed that she was going for a handshake. I'm a jerk. xD))

 

Drew smiled, oblivious to the poor girl's apparent discomfort. "Well... I dunno." He paused scratching his head, then plowed on. "Would you like to go there with us? I mean..." He felt a twinge of awkwardness, but brushed it aside. "I've never been to Johto before. And maybe we can battle when we're there."

 

As expected, Aipom grew bored at the continued bantering of those humans, and leapt back down from Drew's shoulder. He approached Abra cautiously, extending a hand situated on the end of his tail. This was a Pokemon he'd never met before, having never seen an Abra. "Pah?"

((OMG, I completely missed that she was going for a handshake. I'm a jerk. xD))   Drew smiled, oblivious to the poor girl's apparent discomfort. "Well... I dunno." He paused scratching his head, then plowed on. "Would you like to go there with us? I mean..." He felt a twinge of awkwardness, but brushed it aside. "I've never been to Johto before. Abra looked at Aipom then at its hand...er tail...thing. Abra slowly reached out to shake but hesitated before shaking. "Abra."

Jasmine nodded. "It's up to you, really. If you want to battle now, we can battle now. Does three-on-three sound good to you?"

Leon's eyes widened a bit when Jasmine mentioned a three-on-three battle. "Oh well..Uhh you see about that...." Leon stopped for a moment before continuing. "I only have two, Growlithe here and a Riolu. But I already won three badges back in Unova so would two-on-three work?" he asked half hoping Jasmine would say no. While it was true he had won three badges in Unova, he won them before being persuaded by Team Plasma to release his Pokemon. Between that and the fact he hadn't battled since that day, Leon was starting to feel a bit nervous.

Stella was more confused then anything at the Bronzor's sudden movement. She didn't know much about pokemon she rarely, if ever, saw around her home. But, judging by Jasmine's smile, she assumed it was mockery. "Joy. I already look like an idiot, and the battle hasn't even begun." She thought, beginning to get a bit more flustered.

"Oh. I only have two pokemon as well." She added quietly. "Or; one."

Jasmine pursed her lips for a moment, clearly thinking. After a moment she said, "Well... I suppose we could battle two-on-two." She half-glanced at Clyde, who gave an almost inperceptible nod, then continued. "Yeah, a two-vee-two would be great! Two-on-three wouldn't be fair, anyway. Are you both battling? What's the deal?" 

 

 

 

Jasmine will pick from any of these six pokemon to battle. It's her team at the moment. If you wait too long to challenge her it may change.

Drew had another moment of obliviousness, and in that moment, he quipped, "All right, then." Only then did he catch the look on Luna's face. Adopting an air of embarrassment, he said, "I mean, don't feel obligated. I don't mind if you don't want..."   Aipom grinned as Abra shook his hand tail, and began to chatter happily.

She let out a small giggle and looked back up at Drew. "Sure...i'll come. Those two seem to be hitting it off so I wouldn't want to separate them after they have just met...I wonder what they're talking about." She thought out loud, chuckling slightly as Abra tried his best to touch Aipoms tail...he felt rather fascinated with it.

Leon looked back at Stella "Well I can't speak for her but I'm battling." he then looked at Growlithe and nodded his head, telling the Pokemon he was up first. "Grow-Growlithe!!" Growlithe cried out and took a ready position, awaiting his trainer's orders. "Your move." Leon said to Jasmine. While he was sure he could score a pretty easy win considering both his Pokemon were strong against steel types, he still felt a little nervous.

Not to mention Leon already looked like he was ready to battle. "I'll just wait for you two to finish..." She added, with a nervous chuckle.

Jasmine glanced over at Stella quickly, grinning. She was in the moment. "Well, this could take a while. You could go train some if you like. Or you could stay. It's up to you." She looked at Leon, grinning. "Let's get this show on the road, then!" 

 

The floor of the hall opened up to reveal a battlefield, all shiny, polished metal. It would naturally be somewhat slippery to the touch, such was the design. Clyde and Jasmine both stepped up to their positions on the field. ((I'm assuming Leon did too here.))

 

In an official tone, Clyde announced, "The battle between Leader Jasmine of Olivine City and Challenger Leon of Virbank City is now commencing! Each side will use two Pokemon each. No substitutions or healing items are allowed. And that's it. Begin!" He waved his flag, and Jasmine, grinning and eyeing Leon's Growlithe, cried, "Alright, Bronzor, you're up!" 

 

"Bzztbzztbzzt!" Bronzor soared over Jasmine's head to face down Growlithe. Jasmine caught Leon's eye, as if giving him permission to move first. Leon's Olivine Gym Challenge had begun.

Drew laughed. "Well, I dunno about Abra, but Aipom's probably talking about how funny-looking I am." He wasn't funny-looking by its strictest definition, but he wouldn't have been surprised if that really what Aipom was saying. He grinned at Luna, and turned to walk towards the lighthouse. Aipom turned to walk as well, but waited for Abra instead of accompanying his trainer. "Pah." 

 

Luna smiled slightly at Drew's joke before walking next to him towards the lighthouse, not saying anything.

Abra happily walked over to Aipom and poked him in the arm before hopping off ahead. He looked back and said. "Abra Abra." Almost as if he wanted to play a game...like tag.

Luna couldn't help but chuckle at Abra as he waddled up ahead of them...it just wasn't him, usually he was shy and tired but he seemed almost as if he was full of a sudden energy.

Paul exited the Pokemon center with some food for his Poliwag and Feebas and some Pokeballs. It dawned on him that Jasmine the leader of this citys gym battles with a Magnamite and a Magnaton on occasion which isn't good for Paul since he only had two water pokemon. so it would be wise to train them both up and in the process catch a few non-water type Pokemon to help him win the battle.

Route 39 was a short route that merely stretched from Olivine City to the Moomoo Farm before it turned east and became Route 38. The entire route was immediately visible upon exiting Olivine City to Paul as he walked. ((Assuming minor character control is okay?)) The pastures of Moomoo Farm contained many Miltank and Tauros, with a few Snubbull yapping, mostly being ignored by the larger Pokemon. There were some wild Tauros and Snubbull visible loafing just outside the gate to the Farm and up the stairs, however. 

 

There is a rustling patch of grass visible on the south edge of the farm. A blue tuft of fur was just visible poking out of the grass.

 

An odd buzzing is emitting from a tree on the east side of the path, immediately outside Olivine City. Several ovular yellow things were visible on the trunk.

 

A second tree on the other side of the path seems to be shaking slightly.

 

Overhead, a flock of strange birds bearing sticks in their beaks flies. "Fetchd!"

 

((Unfortunately I couldn't find any ground-types available on Route 39. But I tried to give you quite a bit of choice.))

"PLUSLE! MINUN! WHERE IN THE ABSOLUTE HECK ARE YOU TWO?!", Ryan cried out, as he scourged the entire limits of Olivine, very doubtful that they were inside the city by now...

 

Meanwhile, the mischievous duo was over playing with some wild Krabby on Route 40, at what appeared to be a game of tag..

Paul arrived at route 39 and the outskirts of Moomoo farm. He gazed out in search for good strong Pokemon to try and catch, quickly setting his sights on the Tauros stomping around. "Hmm lets see if we can catch that Tauros over there Poliwag" he said with Pokeballing hand.

 

As he moved close enough to the Tauros, the bull type Pokemon began to take notice, turning towards Paul and stomping it's hoof on ground.

"OK Poliwag, you're time to shine" he said as he threw his pokeball into the air to start the battle.

((I'm in class, and I'm trying really hard not to keep you guys waiting, but I just accidentally erased three responses worth of, well, response. Ugh.))

"PLUSLE! MINUN! WHERE IN THE ABSOLUTE HECK ARE YOU TWO?!", Ryan cried out, as he scourged the entire limits of Olivine, very doubtful that they were inside the city by now...

As Ryan ran towards the western edge of Olivine, a large poster came into view. It depicted a caucasian male wearing a black cap and mask, and clad in a menacing black uniform with a large red R emblazoned across his chest. It read, "WARNING! Activity of the villainous gang Team Rocket has been detected in the vicinity of Whirl Islands! Sightings and confrontations with same have been reported as far north as Route Forty. Please contact Officer Jenny in the Olivine Police Dept. for further information."

 

Meanwhile, a large dark ship sailed north towards the rocky beach on Route Forty. It was pumping copious amounts of filthy smoke into the air above it, and just visible upon it was a red insignia, although what exactly that insignia was was hard to tell. It was not yet close enough.

Luna nodded. "Yea." She said, as Abra teleported a split second before Aipom landed on him.

He appeared just behind Luna and Drew but quickly waddled past them and tapped Aipom on the shoudler. "Aaabraaaa." He said, quietly, letting out a quiet sigh that almost sounded like it was mixed with a laugh.

Aipom fell flat on his face in the dust where Abra had been moments before, and sat up, looking around in complete bewilderment. Drew barely managed to stifle a laugh. After a moment, Aipom was cackling as well, once Abra had reappeared, and began to bounce about excitedly, gabbling his gibberish all the while. He only stopped bouncing to hang upside down by his tail from a fence they were passing, and to make a funny face at Abra, still giggling madly.

Not wanting to train in the city, Stella opened her map. "Well. I suppose I could train on route Route 39." She thought, heading over in that direction. Hopefully Absol might respond, and if not, she could always catch a pokemon. Hopefully, that is. Checking her bag, she had 4 pokeballs. "That should be good." She thought as she approached the route, and looked for a clearing.

Abra followed Aipom to the fence and teleported to the top. He held on with his feet and attempted to hang upside down...but he ended up falling to the ground with a small squeak.

He looked up and chuckled.

Luna rolled her eyes and chuckled as Abra attempted to hang upside down like Aipom. The lighthouse was now within sight.

Drew smiled. That Abra was funny. It really was adorable, the thing trying to be an Aipom. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught Luna rolling hers, and the thought he had just been about to vocalize vanished from his mind. Smoothly glossing over his moment of gawkiness, he looked over his shoulder, past Luna, and called, "Come on, Aipom. We're practically there!" Aipom dropped from the fence and scampered back up onto Drew's shoulder.

The only trainer that appeared to be present currently had his Poliwag engaged in a tussle with a wild Tauros. An angry buzzing seemed to be emitting from a tree to the right of the path, while leaves of another were shaking as something moved about inside it. There was still a patch of grass concealing something, as a tuft of light blue fur was still visible there, while the Farfetch'd that had flown overhead had landed on the fence ledge and were creating a huge racket by banging their sticks together. Unfortunately, that racket seemed to have frightened all the Snubbull in the area away. There was a fairly decent sized clearing near the boy and his Poliwag that appeared, for the moment, to be devoid of many wild Pokemon.

The Krabby that Plusle and Minun were playing with gawked into the sky, and quickly waddled off into the sea. Plusle and Minun looked a little confused, but looked up to the sky as well, shaking a little in fear. They looked around. Something about that smoke signal was bad to them... EXTREMELY bad. 

 

Ryan took a bit of a breather and stared at this poster, reading every word. "....Who in the heck is Team Rocket? Are they... like Team Aqua and Magma? And they're sighted as far as Route 40... Wherever that is." He turned, seeing some weird smoke off in the distance... "What the? Oh man, that has GOT to be bad... Oh no... What if they're down there?! I gotta hurry!", he cried out, running off to where Route 40 was at.

Stella sighed softly seeing that the only near by clearing had someone so close to it. She didn't really want to look for another clearing. So, she walked over to the clearing, as casually as possible, and called out oddish. "Oddish!"

 

Oddish was a bit fired up. She was in a fighting mood, and let out a loud cry.

 

"I'll wait to call out Absol. Hopefully he would have left at that point..."

With a snort, the Tauros hoofed at the ground, lowered its head, and charged at the Poliwag. It did not seem to take kindly to being approached, and compared to Poliwag, the thing was simply massive. 

 

Poliwag stood his ground as the Tauros charged at him head on. "Poliwag use Hypnosis" Paul called out with hope that it would send the Tauros to sleep before it got close enough to harm Poliwag.

 

"Poliwag" replied Poliwag as the the spiral on his belly began to turn and grab the soul attention of the Tauros. Getting closer and closer the bull began to sway side to side trying to keep his balance and speed but to little avail.

 

"Good, now Double Slap while he entranced"

 

Poliwag waited a little bit longer for the Tauros to get closer before leaping toward the Tauros and giving him repeated slaps with his tail.

The Tauros fell the ground with force, the attack seemed to do the trick and Tauros was still under the effect of the hypnosis too, Paul pulled a Pokeball out of his pocket to try his luck at catching the Tauros.

Drew smiled. That Abra was funny. It really was adorable, the thing trying to be an Aipom. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught Luna rolling hers, and the thought he had just been about to vocalize vanished from his mind. Smoothly glossing over his moment of gawkiness, he looked over his shoulder, past Luna, and called, "Come on, Aipom. We're practically there!" Aipom dropped from the fence and scampered back up onto Drew's shoulder.  

 

 

Abra looked up at the sound of Drew's voice. He stood in the same spot for a moment before disappearing and reappearing next to Luna.

She patted him on the head then looked up at the lighthouse. She felt like she should make an attempt at making conversation with Drew but...she didn't come up with anything, so she just stayed quiet as they approached the lighthouse.

The Krabby that Plusle and Minun were playing with gawked into the sky, and quickly waddled off into the sea. Plusle and Minun looked a little confused, but looked up to the sky as well, shaking a little in fear. They looked around. Something about that smoke signal was bad to them... EXTREMELY bad. 

 

Ryan took a bit of a breather and stared at this poster, reading every word. "....Who in the heck is Team Rocket? Are they... like Team Aqua and Magma? And they're sighted as far as Route 40... Wherever that is." He turned, seeing some weird smoke off in the distance... "What the? Oh man, that has GOT to be bad... Oh no... What if they're down there?! I gotta hurry!", he cried out, running off to where Route 40 was at.

Nets from the sailing ship were seen to be lowered into the water, and moments later they came back up, full with water pokemon. At least two thirds of which were Magikarp.

 

The ship was now as close to shore as it could get without grounding, and a small rowboat could be seen disembarking and moving towards the shore. 

 

Poliwag stood his ground as the Tauros charged at him head on. "Poliwag use Hypnosis" Paul called out with hope that it would send the Tauros to sleep before it got close enough to harm Poliwag.

 

"Poliwag" replied Poliwag as the the spiral on his belly began to turn and grab the soul attention of the Tauros. Getting closer and closer the bull began to sway side to side trying to keep his balance and speed but to little avail.

 

"Good, now Double Slap while he entranced"

 

Poliwag waited a little bit longer for the Tauros to get closer before leaping toward the Tauros and giving him repeated slaps with his tail.

The Tauros fell the ground with force, the attack seemed to do the trick and Tauros was still under the effect of the hypnosis too, Paul pulled a Pokeball out of his pocket to try his luck at catching the Tauros.

Tauros skidded across the ground, and tried to get up, but seemed to be having a very difficult time in doing so, dazed from the impact and still half-asleep. Moments later, a Pokeball bounced off of its forehead, and in a flash of red light, Tauros was absorbed into the ball, where it fell onto the ground, slowly shaking , the dot in the center still glowing... And the ball became still.

 Tauros' data has been added to the Pokedex.

Tauros, the Wild Bull Pokemon. These violent Pokémon fight with other members of their herd in order to prove their strength.

Tauros.

First Encountered: Route 39.              OT: Paul.                      Gender: Male. 

Nature: Bold.  Strong willed. (Affects the Pokemon's in RP behaviour. Does not affect stats or literal gameplay value.)

Ability: Anger Point. Maximizes attack if hit by a powerful blow. Somewhat shortens temper.

Moveset: Pursuit, Scary Face, Take Down. Can be taught Bulldoze with minimal training.

Abra looked up at the sound of Drew's voice. He stood in the same spot for a moment before disappearing and reappearing next to Luna.

Aipom's jaw dropped with wonder at the size of Glitter Lighthouse as they approached it, and Drew, frankly, had to agree. It was quite impressive, standing out on a rocky bluff over the waves. He glanced at Luna, grinning. "I see why this lighthouse is so widely regarded." He squinted at a sign that lay beside the door, apparently endorsing battles within the lighthouse. And what better way was there to get to know somebody than to battle?

 

He looked at Luna again. "What say you to a little friendly battle, now that we're here?"

Since the other trainer had not noticed her, Stella felt a bit less nervous. Though; the only move she could practice without another pokemon was Venoshock, which was pointless to practice.

 

"Odd!" Oddish cried over and over, waiting for a command.

 

Stella bit her lip. She wasn't sure training with Absol was a good idea. Wild pokemon was an option, but she was also against battling wild pokemon randomly. Shaking her head, Stella unclipped the great ball containing Absol from her necklace, and called him out. "Absol!"

 

Absol got out sleepily, a bit confused, and stretched. It had been a while since he had been outside his pokeball.

 

Stella smiled nervously. Absol looked really powerful. Much more then Oddish, defiantly. She had also always thought Absol was one of the most gorgeous pokemon, due to how the sun always reflected off their coats. She waited for Absol a bit, before she would command either him or Oddish to do anything.
