"Oh, that's cool. Hey, little guy, you feeling better?" I held out a finger for the Shinx to sniff, hoping this would go better than last time. Aron sat beside me and jabbered at the Shinx some more. I had no idea what he was telling it, but whatever worked would be good.

Stella looked around to see the wild pokemon.  A Vulpix, Hoot Hoot, or Nidoran could be great. At the same time; Stella always fancied fire types, so a Vulpix would be great.

 

"Oddish!" She said calling out Oddish, who at first was drowsy, but then became fully alert fairly quickly. Oddish didn't know if Stella had her sights on the Nidoran or Vulpix, so she wandered over two and tried to look as intimidating as possible. Which wasn't very intimidating, at all.

"Yep! Really." Drew pipped, glancing at Luna with a smile before returning his attention to John.

 

Luna smiled...though no one could see it as she was hidden behind her book.

Abra noticed the Eevee that he had seen before...just before Gastly scared the living daylights out of it. Abra slowly waddled out from behind Luna's legs and made its way towards Eevee...which Luna found rather interesting because Abra was always the one to hide and wait for other's to come to him.

He walked over to the Eevee and then stood there awkwardly for a moment before slowly reaching out to shake the Eevee's paw.

Jasmine deliberated for a moment, then, apparently having finally decided, took out a Heavy Ball. Throwing it, she declared, "Come on out, Lairon!" 

 

Out of her Pokeball emerged the stocky quadrupedal evolution of Aron. In a gruff tone, it barked its challenge at the Growlithe opposing it. "Lai!"

 

 

 

Let's see what Dexter has to say about Lairon...

 

Lairon. The Iron Armor Pokemon.

When two Lairon meet in the wild, they fight for territory by bashing into each other with their steel bodies. The sound of their collision carries for miles.

Shinx disregarded John's finger at first, and stared at Aron intently, listening to whatever it was it was saying. After a moment, it seemed to soften, and sniffed John's hand, almost as if expecting there to be more food in it. "Shee."

Vulpix merely gave the Oddish a disdainful look that clearly said, "You've got to be kidding me." Nidoran, however, smiled good-naturedly and turned to pounce at Oddish playfully.

Eevee shied away from the Abra timidly. At least, until she realized that Abra was without malicious intent. Eevee extended a paw very shyly indeed, and let out a squeal when it met Abra's, but did not withdraw.

((Sorry for the wait, guys. I had a bad case of post-migraine lethargy. Still do, sorta.))

Drew inclined his head. "I just thought I'd see the sights. Never been to Johto before. I want to go to Goldenrod City next. Isn't that just due east of here? And wouldn't it be more humane to actually use a Pokeball?"

 

Drew suddenly seemed very adamant about how that poor Shinx was being treated.

 

"Here." He thrust a Pokeball into John's hands, and withdrew a Pokeball of his own out of his belt. "I can have my Eevee revive Shinx for you, and this time, throw the Pokeball at it. Not a rock." He sounded quite suddenly irritated.

 

"You'll have to take that up with our boss, whelp," said the pink haired grunt, before he withdrew his Sneasel and tore after his partner. If there was one thing Team Rocket was good at, it was running away. They're already halfway back to their atmosphere-desecrating ship.

 

((I did use the word 'Angry' to describe the buzzing on several occasions. I also mentioned that the tree had several yellow pods on it. Kakuna. I generally prefer to plan ahead as to what is where. The Heracross was in the wiggling tree, eating sap with some amount of gusto. But it'll have fled the Beedrill too, at this point.))

 

Poliwag's aim was true, and hit one of the Beedrill dead center. But there were still plenty flying after them. Tauros was faster than the Beedrill, but it seemed to be tiring. It clearly wasn't used to carrying anybody around like this.

 

The lone Pokemon that stood in the clearing somewhat resembled a deer. It had a large brown nose and magnificent cream antlers, each with a dark orb in the center. It looked up from where it was grazing on the ferns in the clearing, and stood stock-still, gazing at Stella warily.

Ryan could only watch as the grunts cowered off. "Well, they're just like Magma and Aqua... Their grunts are always running.", he mumbled, as he went over to Plusle, who was experiencing the drawback from the boulder. "Plusle, you all right?"

 

"Pluuu... Plusle.", she responded, climbing up Ryan's arm, while Minun went to him, back into his usual fits of "Mi's" to the grunts running.

 

"Don't worry about them Minun... There's nothing we can really do about them right now... We gotta find Officer Jenny and tell her about this.", Ryan explained, picking up Minun, placing him on his shoulder, and carrying him off towards Olivine City again, heading towards the Pokemon Center.

Shinx looked uncertain for a moment, then hesitantly nodded, accompanied by what might have been a shrug. It appeared to have not forgiven Jason entirely for the Rock Blast, but it evidently could look past that. 

 

((Once it's actually captured in your Pokeball, you'll gain control of it. You know that, right?))

 

Ryan could only watch as the grunts cowered off. "Well, they're just like Magma and Aqua... Their grunts are always running.", he mumbled, as he went over to Plusle, who was experiencing the drawback from the boulder. "Plusle, you all right?"

Jenny was currently in the Pokemon Center talking amicably to Joy. A Chansey bustled about behind them, carrying trays of Pokeballs hither and thither. "Chance! Sey! Chance! Sey!"

Oddish jumped away from the Nidoran, irritated,  and looked back at Stella for guidance.

 

"Use Sweet Scent then PoisonPowder at Vulpix!" Stella called out to Oddish. The Nidoran might be an issue. If she needed to; Stella would have to call out Absol as well.

 

Oddish let off the Sweet Scent, then began readying PoisonPowder.

"Good job Growlithe, you think you can handle another round?" Leon asked Growlithe who nodded and barked with excitement. "Growl-Growlithe!!" Jasmine then sent out her next Pokemon, a rather menacing looking Steel/Rock type known as Larion. It barked as if to intimidate Growlithe who just barked back. "Grrr...Growlithe-Growl"

 

Leon on the other hand was a bit worried. He had encountered a Larion or two back in Unova and they were indeed tough. It didn't help that it was also part rock, meaning Growlithe was weak to it. "Larion eh? Alright then, lets wrap this up Growlithe. Flame Wheel now!" Growlithe then charged towards Larion and once again became engulfed in flames as he spun towards Larion.

Jenny was currently in the Pokemon Center talking amicably to Joy. A Chansey bustled about behind them, carrying trays of Pokeballs hither and thither. "Chance! Sey! Chance! Sey!"

 

After a few good sprints of stopping and starting, since Minun kept jumping off his shoulder from time to time, Ryan finally made it to the Pokemon Center, tired and out of breath. He dumped the duo off onto the front desk, speaking to Nurse Joy in staggered breaths.

 

"Could... You *pant* please heal my Plusle? *pant* She... took a nasty... *pant* hit to the head... after... *pant* she ran into a boulder... And... just a check up... *long pant* on Minun, please...", he managed to get out, until seeing Officer Jenny next to her.

 

"Officer... Jenny... Thank... God you're here... There's a... a.... *extremely deep breath* Team Rocket just came onto shore at Route 40. They lowered a net down into the sea, and snatched a ton of Water Pokemon. I went to stop them, but two of their members... got in my way. Thankfully, I defeated them both... But the boat is still there... I wanted to zap the boat, but that would hurt the Water Pokemon there..."

Eevee nuzzled Luna's hand, obviously enjoying the attention, but when she pulled it away to handle Abra, Eevee looked affronted and padded back over to Drew, into whose arms she leapt. He looked east again, towards Goldenrod. He wondered how long it would be before he could go.

"Lairon! Use Iron Defense!" Lairon's body shone, becoming far more reflective. Evidently it reflected more than light, as Growlithe bounced right off of it. "Now finish it with Heavy Slam!" Lairon launched itself up in the air and fell, with a shuddering finality, upon Growlithe. 

 

It stood, blue eyes gazing intelligently at the pokemon it had just rammed into the shiny metal ground. 

 

"Growlithe is unable to battle! Lairon wins!" Clyde announced, waving his flags towards Jasmine, to whom Lairon had thudded back to and was nuzzling.

 

((Growlithe took quite a hit. It'll need to return to the Pokemon Center after this battle. Don't worry. Pokemon don't die in this RP. Pikachu's taken worse.))

"Oh, it's not too bad," Joy said kindly, taking semi-dazed Plusle into her arms, and with Minun following at her heels, disappeared into a back room. "They'll be up and running in no time."

 

Jenny seemed agitated. "Team Rocket? Again?" More to herself than to Ryan, she murmured, "I thought we'd chased them off... Well, don't worry. I'm on it." She sprinted out the door, speaking to the rest of Olivine Police Dept. as she ran for Route 40.

Oddish then released PoisonPowder, seeing that the other two pokemon had almost completely zoned out. While she aimed mostly at Vulpix, as asked of her trainer, she tried to hit Nidoran a bit too, due to having a great chance to do such a thing.

 

"No need to hit Nidoran." Stella said, noticing what Oddish was doing. Nidoran could be much more of a problem then they wanted, if provoked?

Poliwag was doing a good job of shooting down the Beedrill that got to close but its was still doing no go. Tauros wasn't use to carrying any kind of load so running with a boy and a Poliwag on his back was beginning to take its toll on the bull and he began to slow down allowing the Beedrill to clear the gap.

 

"This doesn't look good, come on Tauros keep going" he said but it was doing little good as Tauros continued to slow.

With one finally yelp Growlithe fainted and his eyes became swirls. "Gro......" Leon sighed and returned Growlithe to his Pokeball.

 

"Looks like it's up to you Riolu. Go show Larion what your made of!" he said throwing down Riolu's Pokeball, releasing the Pokemon. "Ri-Riolu!!" Riolu cried out and took a battle stance. "Now it's my turn." Leon said somewhat smugly to Jasmine. "Force Palm, now!" Riolu appeared in front of Larion almost instantly by using Quick Attack then proceeded to fire a yellow ball of light from it's hand that knocks Larion back a bit.

While Vulpix took the blunt of the poisonpowder attack and promptly became very unsteady on its feet, the small bit of poisonpowder that hit Nidoran rejuvenated it. It was a poison-type, after all. Realizing what Oddish was doing, Nidoran pulled back and began to tear at Oddish with its claws, which, while admittedly not very sharp, must not have been a very pleasant experience.

 

Poliwag was doing a good job of shooting down the Beedrill that got to close but its was still doing no go. Tauros wasn't use to carrying any kind of load so running with a boy and a Poliwag on his back was beginning to take its toll on the bull and he began to slow down allowing the Beedrill to clear the gap.

Olivine City was in sight, and from around a corner came a young woman, no younger than sixteen, with short green hair. It was Janina, the same girl who left Jasmine's gym in a rage earlier. Eyes widening at the Beedrill, she took several steps towards the fleeing trainer, a Pokeball emerging from her pocket. Out from it sprang... A gigantic snake comprised of boulders. The Onix roared, and the Beedrill fled before it as it chucked boulders as tall as your Tauros at them. 

 

"Growlithe, watch out!" Leon called out but it was too late, Growlithe was alredy tired from the fight with Bronzor and wasn't fast enough to doge Larion's Heavy Slam. With one finally yelp Growlithe fainted and his eyes became swirls. "Gro......" Leon sighed and returned Growlithe to his Pokeball.

Usually I'll give it to you, but if I don't it's because, you know, Gym Leaders are powerful. I'm trying very hard to be fair here, you can't just do that. I'll cut you a break this time, but try not to do it again, okay?))

 

Lairon slid backwards across the smooth metallic floor. It seemed about half the damage dealt took form in momentum rather than actual damage. Jasmine smiled. Iron Defense allowed Lairon to take full advantage of the floor, causing it to become almost frictionless.

 

"Metal Burst!"

 

Lairon opened its mouth, forming a white sphere, when it then cast at on the ground, and shuddering, several pillars erupted out of the metallic floor. Lairon used the one that had erupted directly behind where it was sliding to rebound and direct itself at Riolu, leaping for another Heavy Slam attack.

Stella gritted her teeth in frustration. None of Oddish's moves would do much to Nidoran, and she didn't want to knock it out either. "Use Venoshock on Vulpix!" Stella yelled, deciding that simply ignoring Nidoran would probably be the easiest thing to do. For now at least.

 

Oddish quickly jumped back, away from Nidoran. The attack didn't hurt her much, but it also wasn't something she wanted to happen again. But; as asked, she focused a venoshock at Vulpix.

Leon smiled in the same way Jasmine had. Neither Jasmine nor Lairon knew it but they were right where Leon wanted them to be. "Quick, use Counter!" Riolu started glowing orange then used a nearby pillar to jump up to Lairon. "Ri-Rio!" Riolu grabbed Larion and got ready to slam him down on the ground before Larion could do the same to Riolu.

Luna let out a slightly annoyed sigh as she wiped her hands off with a cloth. She glanced down at her Poketch and her eyes widened. "Oh no I gotta get back home for lunch." She said, quickly picking up her bag. She looked around to make sure she had everything before picking up Abra and making her way towards Mrs. Danlep's house...but she stopped and thought for a moment. She looked down at Abra he snickered and before Luna could do anything he teleported to Drew and pulled on his jeans, trying to lead him towards Luna who turned a bright shade of red. "Heh heh...I uh...I think he want's you to come for lunch." She said.

"Woah! Tauros!" Paul shouted as Tauros became more startled from the Onyx throwing huge boulders in there direction towards the Beedrill.

 

As they got closer to the trainer with the Onyx and Tauros began to slow down allowing Paul to climb of with his Poliwag, "Phew, good job Tauros, now go get some rest now" he patted Tauros on the head and then returned him to his pokeball.

 

"Thank for that, you're a life saver" he said to the green haired trainer

Oddish quickly jumped back, away from Nidoran. The attack didn't hurt her much, but it also wasn't something she wanted to happen again. But; as asked, she focused a venoshock at Vulpix.

Vulpix wasn't exactly in the condition to dodge the attack, and fell over in a heap. But, yet again, Nidoran leapt forward and began to use Fury Swipes on Oddish yet again. It seemed quite irritated at this point.

Leon smiled in the same way Jasmine had. Neither Jasmine nor Lairon knew it but they were right where Leon wanted them to be. "Quick, use Counter!" Riolu started glowing orange then used a nearby pillar to jump up to Lairon. "Ri-Rio!" Riolu grabbed Larion and got ready to slam him down on the ground before Larion could do the same to Riolu.

Riolu pounded Lairon into the ground. For a moment, Lairon looked defeated, but it pulled itself back up with some encouragement from Jasmine, and she barked, "It's going to take a bit more than that, Leon! Lairon, Earth Power!" Lairon, suddenly glowing golded, pounded its foot into the metallic floor, which split open, revealing earth underneath. A large crack appeared under Lairon's foot, which shot towards Riolu.

Luna let out a slightly annoyed sigh as she wiped her hands off with a cloth. She glanced down at her Poketch and her eyes widened. "Oh no I gotta get back home for lunch." She said, quickly picking up her bag. She looked around to make sure she had everything before picking up Abra and making her way towards Mrs. Danlep's house...but she stopped and thought for a moment. She looked down at Abra he snickered and before Luna could do anything he teleported to Drew and pulled on his jeans, trying to lead him towards Luna who turned a bright shade of red. "Heh heh...I uh...I think he want's you to come for lunch." She said.

Drew smiled, but it faded and he turned slightly pink when he saw just how much Luna was blushing. "Well, Abra's great, but I dunno. Do you...?" He trailed away awkwardly. Eevee flicked him in the face with her tail, and laughed at him.

"Woah! Tauros!" Paul shouted as Tauros became more startled from the Onyx throwing huge boulders in there direction towards the Beedrill.

 

As they got closer to the trainer with the Onyx and Tauros began to slow down allowing Paul to climb of with his Poliwag, "Phew, good job Tauros, now go get some rest now" he patted Tauros on the head and then returned him to his pokeball.

 

"Thank for that, you're a life saver" he said to the green haired trainer 

"Don't worry about it," Janina said aloofly, withdrawing her Onix and turning back into Olivine.

Oddish jumped away from Nidoran again, becoming more irritated then she was already. "Oddish! Use Sweet Scent!" Stella called out to Oddish, her frustration rising as well.

 

Oddish let out a Sweet Scent, a bit stronger then the last, and began to run away from the Nidoran, making the Vulpix separate the two.

Drew smiled, but it faded and he turned slightly pink when he saw just how much Luna was blushing. "Well, Abra's great, but I dunno. Do you...?" He trailed away awkwardly. Eevee flicked him in the face with her tail, and laughed at him.

 

 

Abra snickered again as Luna's eyes widened and her blush only got worse. "Well I...I mean...if you...I suppose...only if." She sighed. "Yes...I mean, only if you want..." She said, looking down at her feet, trying her best to avoid eye contact.

Abra didn't stop pulling on Drew's jeans, in fact he moved around to the other side of Drew's legs and tried pushing him towards Luna...
