The perspective on the face seems a bit off.

Yeah, I guess you are right in the face... I was just quick sketching, so I didn't have time to rely on laws of physics.

We SHOULD form a band indeed! That pony looks heavy metal-ish, dayum!!

As for the Cutie Mark... Well, your idea does sound better, and most certainly my pony would attract Lyra because of that hand as a Cutie Mark... I'll change it, so I just need to make a new drawing.
