In other news. Some of you may recall the extended character monologues from the last RP game (I called them "cutscenes"). You'll notice that my posts are being kept a bit shorter in this one, I'm doing that to make it easier for me to put them out there faster without overwhelming the RP. However, the extended monologues will still come up every once in a while. From now on, though, I'm going to be adding musical accompaniment to them. Just whatever I'm listening to as I write. I think that Magicon will approve of this change as it is usually classical or "movie trailer" music. Should provide an easy way to spot those sections. x)

Started after I tried to spoil an episode. Arcanel made threats, things went from there. This is it. Uncut, unedited. For all the world to see. [02:18:22] Arcanel: My motivation? Hmmm... that is actually an interesting question. My motivation is to accomplish this purpose. The motivation I receive by wanting to accomplish this purpose, comes from the fact of a certain happiness I can receive when a family is allowed to die together.

[02:19:19] Dusky: I see… Well, then let's go deeper in contemplating your objective, because, frankly, I'm still unable to understand. My lack of understanding cannot be my own fault, because I am here and I am listening to the words that you are saying in interpreting them with the intended meaning. Therefore, my lack of understanding must be a product of your own lack of ability to communicate.

[02:19:36] Dusky: Now, answer me this… Why is it that you seek to destroy in order to find a certain happiness?

In the methodology, remember, the order must be expressed in the action, the motivation, and the justification. In this case, none of the three are visible to me. This is why I'm giving you a chance to add clarification...

[02:23:18] Arcanel: Chaos and order cannot exist without the order. So what one may perceive as chaos, may be in fact, the way to maintain order, and viceversa. Chaos can coexist in order. Order can coexist in chaos. It is all about the perspective of whoever deicdes to analyze what chaos and order would mean by themselves.

[02:25:44] Dusky: No. It is not about the perception of who decides to analyze, because this idea of each individual's perception being correct in and of itself is, on its face, quite flawed. Think about it? If each individual's perception is correct, then this, by necessity, means that every individual's perception is also wrong. Because if everyone is correct, then how can any one individual be correct. Thus, everyone is also wrong. Think of it like this. If we are all flying and not walking but we fly on different levels, then with the concept of walking even exist?  Certainly not. 

 

There is no such thing as relativism in truth. And, order requires the existence of truth. In order for truth to exist, there can only be one truth. The existence of a single truth precludes the natural existence of chaos. Chaos does not exist naturally, it is something that is created by those that seek to defy order, like yourself.

[02:27:09] Dusky: Thus, order and chaos exist as eternal opposites - one is truth, the other is a lie. The lie must be destroyed. I'm sure you'll agree that even the most chaotic entity is in and of itself quite destructive? It is destructive not only to itself but also to other things as well, is this not true? So… Given the destructive nature of chaos… Is it not the destiny of all chaos to cease to exist?

[02:29:58] Dusky: Let's look at your actions in this case… You seek to destroy a family… And you are also willing to put yourself in jeopardy to do so. Is not the natural conclusion of your actions to destroy all things? You must destroy in order to be happy, you must be happy, therefore the destination seems inevitable to me. You will destroy as much as possible. One family will not be enough. 

 

This is problematic, because your existence as a destructive entity short-circuits the natural process through which order is enforced - through strength. But there is no strength with you taking the actions that you take, because you prohibit and impede the actions of the strong with your own randomness. You are… Unpredictable, self admittedly chaotic. In a world where the strong are free to do as they see fit, you interfere. That is unacceptable.

[02:30:21] Dusky:  The strong must be allowed to flourish without interference from unordered processes.

[02:30:50] Dusky: As an unrelated note, I question your definition of family. You see… The filly and the colt are mine.

[02:31:28] Dusky: They have no relation to these other two ponies that you seek to put them with. Therefore, if you wish to eliminate their family and them, then you should include me. Now, would you like to test my strength?

[02:32:03] Arcanel: Chaos, my good friend, is something that cannot be predicted. You know this. Now, let me ask you, whoever said, that my perception was the right one?

[02:32:24] Dusky: Yes, I know that chaos cannot be predicted. This is the problem. This is why chaos is both destructive and self-destructive.

[02:32:41] Dusky:  And if your perception is the wrong one, then it is your destiny to be destroyed by an individual with the correct perspective…

[02:32:53] Arcanel: By my own thoughts, I believe that I will acquire happiness through the destruction of the four ponies I call family. Objectively speaking................ I do not have a single idea.

[02:35:01] Arcanel: Suppose you have a desk, which is very, very messy. Nothing is in its correct place, and no one with an organized mind would be able to find whatever they may be looking for. By all common order means, this is just pure chaos, correct?

[02:36:41] Arcanel: The answer would be a simple "Yes". However, there can be more to it. Anyone who leaves a chaos in a same parttern, learns to find order inside the chaos. So if someone were to put only order within the organization, the organized chaos would be lost, and being in charge, left confused.

[02:36:55] Arcanel: Same thing can happen the other way around.

[02:37:18] Arcanel: Order can have chaos around it, and if you add more chaos than it is, it will destroy the balance, and once more, confuse.

[02:37:32] Arcanel: Who's to say that order can't have chaos, and chaos can't have order.

[02:37:51] Arcanel: It is foolish to thing that order is the end of all things, because this destroys the balance of the world itself.

I'm serious; it's been a week. Flow's RP HP is running dangerously low. No rezzing in this game. When the clock strikes midnight, the show's over. I can't afford to be as flexible with the post times in this RP as I was in the last one because my own IRL schedule interferes with my ability to post during the weekdays. Sooo... I hope you don't mind. I hypothesized that Ice would be just about to enter the dining car. I had to bring your character into the main timeline for the sake of my own sanity. Now, would it be possible to redirect Wind Dancer to the Dining Car? That would make things faster to get going. If you leave her in the Parlor Car, then expect to run across Springer, Lapis, and Magicon before too much longer, I think.

 

 

Now would be a darned good time to write a post. Bring your pony to the dining car, and you could possibly have her encounter Ambrosia, Ice Storm, Dawn, and Asteria as they are about to enter. Right now, they are outside of your pony's room door, talking. The sooner you post, the better, by the way. It's been over a week, and I'm getting neeeeeerrrvvvooooouuuus.

Just try to keep up as best as you can. Try not to leave me waiting one week for a post every time, or I might start getting anxious. You don't want me to be anxious do you?

 

Actually, I'm thinking about changing the rules on posting. The two week delay may simply be far too long. I have a tight schedule that I have to follow during the week, when folks don't respond in timely fashions, it means that I may have to stay up past 2 am to get a post done on a weekday, so that I can keep things moving. Dudes, I get up to get ready for work at 5 am in the morning? Please, don't punish me. Post on time, for justice, mercy, and the preservation of Key Gear's sanity.

 

You know where I am. If you ever need help with a post, I'm on Skype, I'm in this OOC thread, I have private messages. For the love of all that is good, don't have me dragging out. OOC: I apolagize for the short post, I usually am not like this, but I just don't have so much ideas right now.

I'm not really too concerned with the shortness, but here's some ideas to consider in the future (maybe next post):

• Ask Alex about his past?
• Talk about Flow's past?
• Ask about the  train?
• Talk about another passenger in the room?
• Talk about Key? (Since she had a lot of interaction with the pegasus ponies in the last RP.)
• Talk about Dusky? (Always an interesting subject.)
• Talk about the train?

And, as I've said before... Feel free to contact me on occasion  With that said, don't forget that this RP is in the non-advanced area for a reason. Even if you can't do a wall of text or a small wall of text at that moment, you still did the right thing by posting. It helps to move the story along and makes me happy.

Howdy all! Yes. Asteria and Magicon are taking a bit of a trip. It's... Not as odd as it seems, I assure you. Just hold tight and don't jump to any conclusions, yet. I can't say much more than this because I don't want to spoil anything. But... Just one thing. That Springer with the purple eyes isn't invincible. Magic can and does affect him. If it comes to that, at any point, don't hesitate to do what's needed. Might wanna squeeze him for information first.

 

And... My apologies if this last post seemed grammatically weird in some places. I've been under the weather this week. My day off tomorrow isn't just to get this stupid tooth repaired. In truth, I could use the break. I haven't been doing very well. Things have been slipping a bit, and it is mostly the little things. There were so many crazy spelling errors and mistaken words in this post that proofing it took forever. I'm taking that as a sign of sleep deprivation. No worries, though, I'm going to recharge over the weekend (and make more posts).

 

Other than that, I'm sad to say that Ray is no longer able to write for Maple Sands. Unfortunately, real life has jumped in the way and ruined the fun. I don't like real life very much... This means that I need to write Maple Sands out of the story. Well... I hesitate to, because I like her. So, for now, I'll just autopilot her in a minimalist fashion. If some horrible fate does befall her, it'll be reversible.

Attention Everyone.

As you may or may not know, several things happened to me over the past two weeks.

• A friend of my family passed away. I learned about this on the 11th, went to the funeral on the 18th. The entire thing was just one huge, sorrowful disaster. His family's grief was humbling to behold. It was sad, beyond sad. It was completely tragic, and... It left me a mess.
• A local cousin passed away. I learned about this on the 20th, and a small memorial for this is tonight with just my small, immediate family. Sadly, myself and my immediate family will not be able to attend the funeral because it will be a massive mess of anger, family politics, and bad feelings. The entire thing is being done in an insulting fashion to the memory of my cousin, who was, despite her flaws, a beautiful person that deserved more than what this mess is turning into.
• I resigned as tech admin on the 20th. To be honest, I was shaking like a leaf when I was typing my resignation from this site. You have no idea... I gave so much and expected so little. When my small expectations broke, I sorta did as well. That... Was painful. I know it sounds silly, but it is hard to communicate how much that hurt me, and how much, over the next few days, the continuing drama continued to hurt me.

The effect of all of this was to be hit with what was basically triple grief. To be honest, I am still not like myself. I've been sleeping a lot, I haven't been eating as much as I normally do until today, and I have felt a cloud hanging over me. I hope to shake this feeling within the next few days. As all of you know, I'm working on a project that is helping me. I just needed something to pour my time into when I felt like working. I needed something productive.

 

Look, I still feel like there's a hole in my head and that my heart is bleeding out. I can't RP in this condition, so just let me build for a bit. I promise that I will be back on June 1 and ready to post either on that day or soon after.

Hey, Key.  We're all here for you and we can understand.  I honestly can't say that I know what you are going through, but we're always ready to listen.

 

Thanks to the patience of you and others, I am now, basically, back on my feet. The last funeral was on this past Saturday. I am fairly certain that it will be years before I fully come to terms with the incidents, but I have basically resumed a full schedule. I somehow managed to keep my job despite stumbling through the fast three weeks without actually being able to focus on anything and finish any projects. I also somehow managed to keep my sanity despite going for rather frightening timespans with no sleep at all.

 

To be honest, I owe a lot of my current positive state of mind to an IRL friend as well as Wing, Zoop, and a few others on this site. I also owe it to you all for your well wishes, patience, and the occasional burst of life in a Skype RP (thank you, Magicon, those were interesting events). I'm not sure how many of you have ever lost someone that you cared about, but it does hurt. To get hit by that same feeling for two weekends in a row was not healthy. It also hurt for me to finally come to terms with the fact that being a tech admin on this site was no longer a very healthy decision for me to make (and had possibly never been). This may sound silly, but there were a lot of sleepless nights attached to this as well.

 

This update brings us all to present. I've created the framework of my next post, but I will be waiting until Friday morning to finish it. The simple fact of the matter is that I am spending a lot of time asleep in the evenings during this week. I am both going to bed earlier and I am napping. It makes sense, I basically just went through 3 or 4 weeks of punishment. The bags under my eyes look horrendous and developed exclusively during this time period. Don't worry, my normal rate of activity will continue after Friday. I usually do not require any more than a few weekdays of rest to correct weeks worth of nasty sleep schedules, so you can be certain of this.
