I've honestly never listened to the song that this is remixed from so I can't really say how the two would compare.  I can say that I find this piece to be quite enjoyable (I particularly like the section from 0:00 to 0:23, as well as whenever that theme returns).  You certainly seem to know what you're doing when it comes to electronic music (at least in the eyes of someone who isn't exceptionally familiar with electronic music)!
