movies/tv Favourite Simpsons episode?

Couldn't find a thread like this on the search bar, so here we go. What's your favourite Simpsons episode? I used to love watching it before it began overstaying its welcome and pandering to pop culture. (That Harlem shake was disgraceful!) There were some real classics to be had, and it's definitely made its mark, so which episode is your personal favourite?

Mine is Flaming Moe's. (S3E10) It had a wonderful amount of comedy moments, continuity and a plot with a surprisingly large amount of twists and discussion values for a singular episode. And while we always want Homer to succeed, this time he hasn't brought the trouble upon himself; and we wanted both success for him and his drink, while we also didn't want Moe's tavern to shut down. I really liked that - you have the two perspectives.

It had a really great song in it too. That also surprised me, it felt like an extended version of it could actually be on an album.

Other favourites include Marge vs. The Monorail, and King-Sized Homer.

Favorite normal episode would have to be "You only move twice" I thought Hank Scorpio was pretty hilarious in that episode.

Favorite Treehouse of Horror would be number VI.

My other favorite episodes include Lemon of Troy, Sideshow Bob's Least Gleaming and Bart vs Australia.

One of my favorite episode of the Simpsons is when Bart sells his soul to Millhouse. Anytime a character who normally acts like Bart does, is given this hardship, his get some character development. Maybe not much, considering Simpsons is a comedy. However, it's a good episode. It's funny, and also touching. At least in my opinion.

I also like the epsiode when we get a glimpse of what it would be like if the Simpson kids were older. When Lisa is about to get married to that Bristish guy.

I could keep going on with this because there are a lot of good episodes that I enjoy from the Simpsons. Mostly just the older stuff, not particularly a big fan of their recent ones.

the strongest one coming to mind right now is the episode with Homer Simpson finding the girl at a bar far away from Sprinville, and turns her into a country-music star, because the episode was just so compelling. the amount of emotion in that episode is a BIG thing missing from The Simpsons.

@Flipturn ツ: Oh wow, someone else remembers Flaming Moe's! And how excellent it was, with a real conflict and issues you could relate to next to the jokes. That sums up what The Simpsons was until the late 90's or so. No matter how much of a dunce Homer was, the show made you identify with him so often that you couldn't help but like him. As Homer transformed from an oafish everyman to a straight moron, the show lost something it would never get back.

Wait, I'm supposed to pick a favorite Simpsons episode. xD  Well let's see...gees, that's tough. For straight comedy, 'Who Shot Mr. Burns Pt. 2' was epic. I literally did not stop laughing from the opening to the closing credits. It's like they saved up all the best gags they'd come up with over the summer and crammed them into one 25-minute season premiere. And Maggie as the shooter was great. For drama, I tip my hat to Fluttermoon because 'Bart Sells His Soul' was indeed great.

But my real favorite has to feature Lisa because she's my favorite Simpson and often she got the most thought-provoking stories. It's tough...but ultimately I have to go with 'Lisa the Iconoclast' from Season 7, wherein Lisa discovers some disturbing truths about town founder Jebediah Springfield during a city-wide festival to honor his memory. It was brilliant on so many levels.

Homer's phobia

Homer's Enemy

Deep Space Homer. (Careful! They're Ruffles!)

Who shot Mr. Burns

This Little Wiggy (This is my sandbox! I'm not allowed to go in the deep end)

Itchy and Scratchy and Poochie show

To me the classic era was Seasons 2-6, but 7-10 probably had the biggest laughs. After that it kind of lost steam. I don't hate newer Simpsons it's just average. But when you have such a legacy for being so smart and funny being average it seems is the worst sin.

UNCLE MOE, HERE I AM, WHILE YOU EAT! :D

I loved that episode too. It's probably in my top ten, definitely top twenty. Poor Bart... that scene at the end where he starts praying, that was sad.

There are so many episodes to choose from and I enjoy a lot of the old Simpsons episodes equally.

One is definitely "The last temptation of Homer." It has some of my favourite moments in the entire series such as Homer's "unsexy" thought of Barney in a bikini and When he tries to read the smudged writing on his hand to Mindy.

Another is "lost our Lisa" and I always crack up at Homers prayer to superman.

Lord, every single episode of that amazing series is my favorite! (at least the classic series. Nobody likes the "new")

But I love "You only move twice" as stated by another user here. I also love the 2 parter episode "Who shot Mr. Burns" or whatever it's called :)

I think my favorite episode of The Simpsons was when Homer tried to become an inventor and invented his ''electric hammer''. I don't even remember any more episodes, there are so many episodes of The Simpsons and I have watched it for so many years now.
