He analyzes a situation before preceding. Usually, a crazy pony would show some crazy tendencies, wouldn't they? He would keep that in mind. But if fighting starts, he does not hold back. Fight or flight are the only options in some cases. With the breakdown of communication comes violence. But he would try his best to avoid it.

The most dangerous kind of crazy is psychopathic ones. They can be very very normal from the outside, and then without any provocation stab you in a dark alley in the middle of the night.

Your main OC was on his/her way to deliver something extremely important to a secluded village. The only path available was a narrow valley at the side of the Everfree Forest. Flying or taking a balloon ride was out of question because the area surrounding the valley was blanketed with dense fog. Your OC was almost halfway there when the earth suddenly shuddered. He/she looked up only to find this creature looming above the ground.

Basic shield spells, and thanks to a run in with a certain unicorn, she also knows a fire shield spell. Her move set improves over time as I use her. She evolves. Maybe she will learn a new skill in one of the books of Scoots' mega RP.
