I honestly prefer digimon over pokemon. Digimon games at least know not to repeat an old recipe over and over again.

When Pokemon first came out, I thought the idea was stupid, so I never played it. I collected the cards for a few years when I was a kid but quit after G2. I just didn't like the concept for the longest time, and the games never interested me.

I think I only got the cards because all of my friends had the cards. It seemed like something really fun at the time. I had no clue on how to play the game, but I liked the idea of collecting something.

And Pokemon's "old" recipe works. Why would you not repeat it? Especially when it still works very well and can be freshened up easily. Not that it even needs to be freshened up.

As they say... if it works, don't change it.

 

There's always room for improvements but there's absolutely no need to change the concept when it has been refined for so many generations now.

 

 

(They're actually experimenting with their spin-off series... btw)
