Just read the whole thing. Just keep in mind that I am a hobbyist writer at best. Well, I've made attempts at writing both fanfiction and original fiction and none of the projects saw completion to this day so I guess you can say we're in similar holes. Only with me, writing has always been nothing more than a hobby but it's a serious thing for you, I see. Maybe we don't exactly have the same problem but... Lately I've been thinking of a different approach to writing and that would be thinking more along the lines of "how should the reader experience the story".

 

Now, obviously writing a user's manual is different from writing fiction. That with the expectation of user manuals being concise and clear as to what information has to be taken out of it. As for fiction, maybe thinking about it in the context of telling a story by the campfire might place a bit of perspective on the issue.

I cant give any advice as ive never had anything similar. You're bothered that your writings don't seem up to par (even though i think the ones I've read were quite good), but you continue to write cause you like to. You're pretty much causing your own problem. Stop belittling your own talent. You don't always need people to tell you your stuff is good for it to actually be good. I guess thats the only advice i could muster. At least i found something.

 

And as i said, i did only read a little so i may have missed something else that's troubling you and i do apologize for that.

I really wish I had a better computer, I mean I love this one but I wouldn't mind having one that is more powerful, and I would probably not be able to get a touch screen with a more powerful computer, as this one has a touch screen and I love that touch screen.

 

I hope I can get a computer that would run PS2 games flawlessly.

oh fuck yes we're finally moving away from the labs in my linux book and onto our own those labs in the book are awful.

 

Also, this site is oddly smooth on my tablet now. Before it was almost unusable, now it performs as smoothly as my far more powerful laptop. I swear I didn't change my tablet's hardware, mostly because I can't because everything is integrated into the motherboard to reduce the tablet's bulk to a minimum (which is good as the tablet is really, really thin and light - as a tablet should be.) But hey, might as well not complain, right? Especially since I'm probably not going to bring my laptop to college anymore.

On another site which I am a mod on I have to reset topics after they reach like 100 pages, and the topics that reach that high are in the Forum Games area, and we try to keep it minimal.

 

Maybe this topic SHOULD be reset. xD

As a moderator of another site, and a forum regular of other forum sites, the only time I saw that happen was when the topic actually gets buggy.

 

Though I see other problems: What if the integers counting the pages begin to overflow? Lowest number that can happen is, like, 65535.

I don't like why mobile phones don't like the font option on this site. xD It takes away all of the options that the computer has. I've noticed.

This was a legitimate concern on one of the sites I moderate, though it happened before I was appointed moderator. Though it wasn't a reset due to established decluttering rules. The cause was an actual bug in the system that made the forum pages unusable. The only thing that could be done was to shut it down and start anew.

 

The only other times was for a forum game where the goal was to count to, like, 10000. It's been accomplished, I believe, 3 (or maybe 5) times already.

 

But legitimate dev/support threads aren't usually reset unless of forum bugs. The largest one I know of, in terms of number of pages, was about 550+.

 

Do the integers here count up to 2 billion or something? I'm sure you'd kill the hard drives before you kill the integers...

Something peculiar's been on my mind for some time. That is, about finding temporary work as a helper of some sort at the local hospital's psychiatric department. It's kinda about observing mental illness patients; seeing how they go about life at the psychiatric department and how they're generally approached by personnel. It might be interesting for me to get a closer look at mental illnesses--closer than many people tend to get. Although I might be going about this wrong.
Though... I'd best keep in mind that the reason they're there might have something to do with them being a danger to themselves or people around them.
