Unless you live with 3 other people walking around the house constantly, which could create unwanted noises.

Variables in many circumstances, of course.

The speakers should be loud enough to really blow anything they do away, though. But, with three people, they'd surely be mad at you at that point. So, yeah. Tough with tons of people around.

Very much so.

Well, I wouldn't have to worry about it much, I don't make music.

A few dollars. I got mine from a thrift store. Mine says Icemataudio.

I'm not a fan of headphones, so I doubt I'd be comfortable with one that costs only a few dollars.

You've never been to a thrift store before. My corner desk costed me $20.

Mine...

Let's just say mine costed more.

My whole set-up costs a bit too much.

At least I got a couple keyboards for free.

I found a mechanical keyboard from a thrift store and it cost me a few dollars. I can't use it because the keys are the wrong shape and missing.

How much would good headphones even cost?

That has a lot of variables too, sadly.

Depends on what you're going for/looking for in them.

My headsets were both over or around 100$

Krackens were 90 something and Plyr 1's were 200$ iirc.

Audio technicas (which, are professional monitoring headphones) were 150$.

Skullcandy's headphones are all about 70$+ and are normally considered in the mid area of things. Still paying more for the brand than anything, but yeah. Crushers were 79 on Amazon (61 base right now it seems), Hesh 2 Wireless were 100$ from Skullcandy themselves (seemingly about 80 on Amazon, iirc) and they'd be around 70$ or less for the normal wired versions.

it really depends on how much you're wanting to spend on them, what you're wanting to do with them, what you want from them, and the look if that matters too.

Durability, etc as well.

You've never been to a thrift store before. My corner desk costed me $20.

You've never heard of "not being cheap" before.

Thriftstores are good for people doing budget things or hunting used items.

I'm not doing either of the two, so I have no need to care on spending such little money. Besides, I can assure you, whatever you have is miles far from anything proper. The desk, however, should be fine cause I mean, desk's aren't really something that get destroyed easily and can be moved around a lot.

Other than that, I really, really, really, really, really dislike used things in general.

I got 2 free keyboards, one mechanical one not.

Also got a free set of headphones that don't work.

I think I'll stick with my speakers.

Eugh, me too.

Man, thriftstores sure do sound promising in what you can find there. >.>

Fun fact, speakers still fall under everything I said and would actually cost more than the headphones in general.

Nah, the headphones I got were from a deal when I ordered my computer over the internet.

I don't have much to contribute to thrift stores.

I don't care how used they are; if they are in functional condition or repairable, that's good in my book. Plus, a lot of things I've gotten have been barely used or never been used. That's how I got a Lolgitech keyboard to replace the identical Lolgitech keyboard I've already worn through.

Aah, ok.

There's the problem. Not saying its a bad thing, but I sure as hell can't care to do that. I like my stuff pristine out of the box from the company.

I still wouldn't trust them at all coming from there.

Aah, ok.
I also got Tomb Raider 2 for free.

The deal was amazing, I gotta say.

I got bored from it though, the game is really stale with its sidequests and survival parts.

I must have a higher tolerance for used items, then. Like, ridiculously high.

I'd rather not spend 10 times as much money for the same kind of product; that's why it's called a thrift store, but there are things that have to be bought in pristine condition, but even then, I try to be as thrifty as possible. My lifestyle literally requires it.

My three monitors roughly cost $110 each and the mounts about $15; is that thrifty?

I got enough of used crap when my mom bought me my first two xboxs and they shit out on me super early.

Same kind, but chances are possibly better in a number of ways. It's a big gamble I'd rather not take. If you have to go the cheap route then you just have to. That's understandable.

Extremely. My two monitors I'm looking at are both 99$ each (or were, I think they're at 129$ ea now).

College-and-soon-to-be-university student, plus a whole bunch of unexplainable crap. Thriftiness is a requirement for me. Plus, it's amazingly inexpensive to have a triple monitor-- I'm done talking now.

Like I said, that's understandable and fair enough.

There's a difference between college and university?

Huh.

Well, I know in like, europe and stuff apparently.

Over here, though, I don't think there's actually a big difference? :?

A university might be bigger than a college, but I don't know what else would be different between the two.

Okay, at least it isn't total common knowledge so I don't feel like an idiot.

I didn't realise this until orientation, but the primary difference, at least for me, is intensity. Used to be that you'd have two 18-week semesters and now you're going over to three 10-week quarters. Because of this, there's a quirk in the start dates in that I have an extra month of summer break.

The next difference is the kinds of classes you take. A little harder to explain because, chances are, what they call them and what you take likely varies by major and university. Let's just say there are higher-level classes compared to community college.
