So, no more overclocking my GPU because my power supply literally can't handle it.

Is it not possible to get a higher power supply, or do I not know what I'm talking about?

Ok, ok. That might have been a lie

You don't say?

Time to upgrade psu's then, it seems.

As far as I know, that's actually the best possible solution right now because on the 12V rail, I'm maxing out the current that it can handle by overclocking it (~50 amperes) and I looked at PSUs on Newegg and found that they can handle ~60 amperes of current. In other words and by the simple fact of multiplying voltage and amperage, I literally need more power. Maybe that's why my secondary hard drive keeps losing connection: it's not getting enough power.

This is a 3-year-old PSU from about 2013. I didn't think I needed any more current.

Boom, am smart.

Or just competent enough to see obvious issues.

Have you ever taken a course on circuitry before? Because a lot of weird stuff, like electric potential (voltage) and electric current (amperage) are pretty important, and multiplying voltage and amperage together gives you your total energy usage per second, or power. It's actually pretty fun because for any given power level, you can have high voltage/low amperage or low voltage/high amperage, which is like part of the basis of high voltage power lines (there's two other parts that are just as important, like power loss and transformers).

I have not, but I plan to take something like that in the future.

Pop quiz!

last time you lied about something?

I never lie, silly.

...

While typing this sentence, I said I never lie.

Always better to be safe than sorry.

Should have just gotten something that gave extra than what you figured you'd need.
