But complaining when you didn't purchase is like a cheat, it's like trying to say the food in McDonalds is bad even though you never ate there.

Okay. It's like me complaining about Nike's awful treatment of it's workers, when I don't buy they're shoes. I'm not complaining about the product. I'm complaining about their business ethics and other issues, which concerns everyone even if you didn't play the game. To use your analogy (is that the right word?) it's like me complaining if McDonalds put poison in it's burgers, intentionally.

 

As for me just complaining about Steam, I just am particularly affected by steam at this moment. I do dislike all this UPlay bullshit and the whole marketplace in Diablo (thought the market place is more just from my gameplay point of view). The fact that steam doesn't let you play games on your hard drive without the client (which is true, no matter how you cut it) outrageous me.

@@Bronium, To be fair, when you buy games, it mentions this, it is up to the consumer to choose whether to buy or not.

 

As on par with the analogy, yes mistreating employees and poisoning your customers is completely wrong and is a matter of policymakng and policing to fix this. However this is not the same thing, not even remotely.

It is the same thing. You're hamburger is the game(product). The poison is bad business practices in games(the issue). I don't complain about the product. I complain about the issue. The product is awful, and I don't complain about that. I complain about the effect of the product on others. Similarly, the game may be awful and I don't complain about that. Instead, I complain about how maybe buying a game like this is bad for the industry. And actually, I can complain about how bad a game is, I just don't ask for a fix.
