"You know, there is great deal on lunch specials at my favorite restaurant in Ponyville, but we got to hurry."

 

Corkscrew motions to DogBoots. 

 

"We can't let him in that house, or he'll think something is up. Do you know if there's a hose around here?"

 

Corkscrew sprays Max off and then helps him to the restaurant.

"Yeah there's one in the backyard right by my garden. Just please don't mess it up. I worked hard on it." Dogboots replied before heading back inside. He went into his room and dug through his trunk finding which lock to use to lock up Max's lab. He pulled out a large pad lock and headed towards the lab. The stallion entered the room and turned on the light. The shelves were filled with vials filled with different concoctions that Max had made. Dogboots looked at the potions with disgust. Part of him wanted to destroy the entire lab and break all the vials. He shook the idea off and began locking up the lab. As soon as he shut the door the stallion tested to make sure the door was locked up nice and tight. He soon headed back to his room and locked the key in his personal safe.

"Food? Ok." Max was relieved that he got help to his hooves. His legs were wobbling like noodles in the wind. Max was able to support himself with his wings, but even then traveling was very difficult.

"I should run in to shower, b-" Max was sprayed by a garden hose mid sentence. He was soaked to the bone. Looking down, he saw the colorful mix flowing into a nearby grate.

"Or just hose me down. That works too." Max said sarcastically. He was shaking violently now.

"R-right. Can we j-just go n-now?" Max stuttered out. Max couldn't shake the feeling that he was missing something.

"Can I r-run into my study real q-quick and grab a few p-p-potions?" Max asked. He was feeling the need to drink something

"I suppose. I...should come back later though." Max said. The water knocked him down, and he was lacked the strength to get back up. When he was thrown onto Corkscrew's back, he slid off, instead leaning on him to keep him from falling.

"My party? What is the occasion? I haven't done anything major beyond my alchemy." Max asked, but his mind was very worn out so he couldn't think to far into it.

Dogboots waved his hoof back signaling he would attend the party later. "Great...a party." He said unenthusiastic about the upcoming event. The stallion didn't really enjoy social gatherings but if it was to help Max then he would have to partake. He soon shrugged it off and headed out into town to pick up a few things.

"Oh yes I do have the Mental and Physical let me fine them" Twilight start to look at the shelf." I got to ask for your name sir for my records you are takeing the book out of the library." When she finsh talking to him she fines the Mental and Physical. When she turn auound she saw Fire Star looking at them she tell him to intorduce himself. And Twilight intorduce herself to " I think is time for me to Intorduce my self my name is Twilight Sparkle and this libary my home and business" She said with a smile.

When Twilight saw him she tell him to intorduce him self he smile and said  "Yes ma'am." Fire Star went to him and said " Well hello there New pony stallion....." He start to think what to say to him. Fire look at Twilight she look annoyed at him. Fire look back at the unicorn in front of him " Sorry for that well my name is Fire Star" Fire start to smile.

After Fire Intorduce him self she look at the New pony and said " Sorry of my friend he is still new for me too" She stare to laugh. The pony ask if she know a place to find a job and a home she look at him "Well you can go to the Town hall to find a home and job there" She smile. "That how Fire Star find his job" she tell the new pony.

Plagal walked through town looking for something to do.  He was hoping to possibly find some sort of odd job to do, since income was very little since his musical inspiration had been taken hostage almost a month ago.

 

Suddenly, there was a loud crack and a flash of light as a unicorn appeared mere inches in front of him.  "Ack!" he shrieked in surprise as he jumped backwards.  I thought that I was through with the spontaneous unicorn teleportation problem when I left Canterlot, he thought glumly, evidently that's not the case...  "If you're going to teleport, please to try to watch where you're teleporting!" he told the unicorn with more than a little irritation in his voice.  "A few more feet this way, and you would have teleported into me!  I don't even want to know what the consequences of that could be..."

"I can chip in some bits that..." Max began, only to come to a realization.

"...spent on potion ingredients this morning." He laughed nervously, but hayed that somepony else would have to pay for his food. But his ravenous hunger override his courtesy to not accept free food from others. He didn't like feeling like a mooch. He sat down at a nearby table, and when he did, he knew that until he got food, he wouldn't have the strength to get back up. He leaned back in his chair, and seeing him in proper light was a sight to behold. He was pale, clothes stained and weathered, his eyes were bloodshot, and his mane and fur were a dirty mess. He had dark circles under his eyes, and was clearly suffering from fatigue.

He was bouncing his leg friskily in his chair, his eyes looking around at a rather fast rate, even his heart beat was speeding up. He couldn't figure out the cause though. He was so lost into his thoughts that he didn't even hear what Corkscrew was saying. When his food got to the table-2 large haycakes stacked on top of each other-it took Max only 3 minutes to decimate the meal. He ate like a ravenous dragon.

Plagal jumped slightly when an answer suddenly came from behind him.  Said answerer appeared to be an earth pony who was wearing a jumpsuit that covered most everything but the stallion's head.  The pony seemed familiar, but the two had never spoken before.  Why does everypony insist upon sneaking up on me today? he asked himself.

"Sorry about the mess earlier, I experimented with a RS and Disorientation mixture. Clearly further testing is needed. If I can just get it right..." Max trailed off as the thought of such a concoction filled him with glee similar to a foul getting money for candy. His milkshake arrived, and just as quickly vanished. Max downed a milkshake taller than a small mare in 10 seconds. He sighed with relief as he got fresh air, and then clenched his head as he felt like his brain got hit with a vat of liquid nitrogen.

After Storm Cloud finished his conversation with Aerial Shot he went to a nearby restaurant and he saw two pegasi. He decided it would be a good idea to get to know more pegasi so he confronted the two and said "Hey, I'm Storm Cloud. I just moved here from Cloudsdale." His mane was getting near his eye so he flipped his mane.

After Golden got the items he took them and left the library. Twilight yelled that Golden "To bring back the book's back in 10 day" she yelled at him. she look at Fire Star and said to him "I hope he hard me" with a concern voice.

After Twilight look at Fire Star she tell him she hope he hard her she sounded concern. Fire said " I think he hard you Twilight" With a smile. I think that what she need to hard she look more come. Well Twilight I have to go but I got one question where are your wing are you a princess or not" looked confused.

Twilight look at Fire and answer his question " My wing is still on me but I using my magic to hide it" she said with a smile.

I said " Why are you hiding your wing Twilight" She tell me because she does not want to be treated different. She tell me I look at her and said " Twilight you well not be treated different at all you still the some Twilight we all know and love" I said with a kind voice and smile. She look at me and tell me thank me and smile and said " Well Twilight I have to go now I need to buy some food" I wave good bye and I left the liberary to the market place.

After Fire Star left the library she turn back to her study. In 30 minutes later She hard the door knock she walk down stairs and open the door and saw a Aiicorns. At first she thoughts it was Luna and she look more closely it was a boy ailcorns and she remembered Princess Celestia telling her. About a brother she had and now Twilight looking at him. " um hello" she look confused and stud at first.Thens she shook her head and siad " Sorry for that you surprise me that all well you must be Eclipes. You must be Celestia and Luna brother right" "She look at him."Well my name is Twilight Sparkle" She tell him with a smile.

The stallion had seen Plagal around ponyville for the past few weeks but didn't have much of an opportunity to introduce himself. "As to answer your question Golden. No I haven't visited the library. My roommate Max might have visited there though. He specializes in making potions. I honestly didn't know that there was an alicorn here. Then again i'm not...forget it it's nothing. Anyways, as Plagal here knows I sell produce here every weekend over at the Farmer's Market. It's enough to make a living but difficult to maintain at times." He replied to Golden answering his question but soon going off on a random tangent about himself. It was only after a few moments that another thought hit the stallion.

 "Wait, you said you used to compose instrumental music in Canterlot? By any chance did you compose some of the music that The Royal Canterlot Symphony play on the radio? Cause I enjoy listening to their music while i'm gardening it makes it quite peaceful." He asked Plagal. Dogboots may not have respected Royalty but he did have a huge respect for music and a refined taste when it came to it.

Max, recovering from his brain freeze, simply gave Corkscrew a blank expression as he talked.

"You've been talking to Dogboots? He worries too much. So I test the potions on sight. It isn't that big of a deal. If not me, then who? What happened today was a failing on my part. What I think happened was that a mixed it too fast and that caused to chromosomes in the RS to destabilize, and the exposure to sunlight may have awakened dormant L3 cells in th-" Max cut himself of. He realized that explaining the details of alchemy would likely be lost to anypony outside the profession.

"In laymen's term, I messed up. Plus this defeat will make the final product all the more sweeter. A perfect blend of this nature could...could..." Max actually was hearing himself in that last sentence. It was one thing to want to get a mixture right, but he was more interested in the consumption and effects rather than the actual work. Why?

"Potions are a good way to relax, release some stress. Take my mind off of things...Anyway, if this whole thing was to help me with a problem, I appreciate it, but it isn't needed. I'm fine. I can manage my intake." Max sounded a little unconvinced. But who was he trying to convince of this false claim. Corkscrew, or himself?

"And where do you think your going? Today is about enjoying the simple things in life and taking it easy, just for one day. And besides, it sounds like your trying to convince yourself, not me or DogBoots."

 

He motions for Storm Cloud to have a seat.

 

"Max, do you know the story of Dr. Hackle and Mr. Herd? I had to learn it in my training in order to know how to deal with complications when a pony screws up and there is no reversing the effects."

 

Corkscrew finishes off his milkshake and motions for the waiter.

 

"I'm done with my milkshake, thank you. Storm Cloud, would you like anything? My treat."

 

Corkscrew looks back over to Max

 

"Max, I think you and DogBoots need to have a good long talk about your situation."

 

Corkscrew looks back to Storm Cloud.

 

"So Storm Cloud, your from Cloudsdale also? I spent my youth there before I was shipped off to Canterlot."

I'm kinda short on money, after all, having a scholarship to Canterlot U. Oh, your friend works with potions, that's good. I was actually thinking of writing my term paper on potions.
