"I see," He said frowning a little at Parcel's explanation. 

 

"Well, It's quite nice here in Ponyville, we recently just had a race. Which was pretty exciting, though two ponies tied for first. Which doesn't surprise me, because both Rainbow Dash and Applejack are incredibly fast. Anyways, we're here now." The stallion declared as they walked up the steps of city hall.

Storm Clouds desire to beat Rainbow Dash in a race was unbearable at this point. He went around Ponyville asking, "Have any of you seen Rainbow Dash?" When they said no, he thanked them for their time. Then he found a familiar face, it was Dogboots. "Hey Dogboots, have you seen Rainbow Dash?" He yelled while running to the Earth Pony. He then noticed a changeling and almost screamed 'changeling' and was about ready to buck kick the changeling. But before he could he noticed he seemed quite friendly to Dogboots. So he calmed down a bit and said, "uhhh hi there. My name is Storm Cloud. I was one of the fastest flyers in Cloudsdale" he said in a bragging tone.

"Oh, uh hello my name is Parcel Shift it is nice to meet you." 

 

he said this in the same rehearsed tone he had before tilting his head toward the pegasus hesitated, glanced at Dogboots before pulling his head back and holding out his hoof smiling brightly his transparent wings now only waving softly behind him.

Nexus stepped off the train onto the platform and into Ponyville. He had been here once or twice before, just drifting by, but now he was here to stay. At least for a while. His home in Canterlot suffered damage from a weather incident and needed a place to stay. And well...housing was cheaper in Ponyville. It was hard leaving his friends, but ultimately had no choice. But he felt that he would be able to make some new friends here in Ponyville. The ponies were nice enough on the brief visits he had, given his unusual appearance. Being a bat pony meant that he had-what else-bat wings in substitution for regular wings. They were more flexible than pegasus wings, and this has allowed Nexus to train himself in using them as a second pair of hands, picking things up and handling objects easier, which in turn allows for more effective medical treatment. His cutie mark was heart with a pair of wings, showing that he had medical expertise rivaling the unicorns. He wore a dull green chestplate issued to the Night Guards of old, and a saddle bag that contained a few bits, a med kit, and a pair of hoof claws in case he needed to defend himself. His black and blue mane was in a swept back mohawk and his tail looked largely unkept. Combine all this with his midnight blue coat, and Nexus looked rather intimidating. But in reality-unless you were a changeling-Nexus was rather friendly and outgoing. He trotted out of the train station, looking around for town hall, with an obviously confused look on his face. His bright green eyes looked this way and that, but could not find its target. Letting out a sigh, begins wandering aimlessly, hoping to just stumble onto the hall.

Suddenly Parcel Shift keeled over and fell tovthe ground his stmoch letting out a large growl. He felt sick to his stomach and it was turning in knots. He hadn't eaten since long before he left the changelings and he was long past due for a meal and was only just now feeling it after the busy week he had had there was only one thought going through his mind right then.

 

Hungry.

"Hm?" The stallion noticed Parcel fall over and hearing a grumbling sound from his stomach.

 

"Hungry, are ya? Here, have some of this." He said pulling out a small can of spam. Dogboots cracked open the container and offered it to the famished Parcel Shift.

"Hm?" The stallion noticed Parcel fall over and hearing a grumbling sound from his stomach.

 

"Hungry, are ya? Here, have some of this." He said pulling out a small can of spam. Dogboots cracked open the container and offered it to the famished Parcel Shift.

Parcel Shifts hoof shot up and grabbed the stallions wrist he pulled himself up his whole body changing to that of a unicorn mare. Rockshire was as beautiful as the day Dogboots first met her and she kissed him just as passionately now as she had done back then. The only difference was the paper thin wings on her back. Parcel shift groaned and slumped to the ground returning to his normal form satisfied with the love he had just fed upon.

Dogboots collapsed on the floor, gasping for air. It was as though the life was sucked out of the stallion.

 

"R-Rockshire? How? How did that thing turn into her? How does it know about her? and more importantly, Why does it feel like something got sucked out of me?" He thought. After a few deep breaths the stallion wobbly stood back up.

 

"W-What are you?!" He asked horrifically surprised at what had just happened. Though deep down the stallion wanted to see her again.

Rainbow Dash

Rainbow Dash stood around after the race for a few minutes before she headed for her home. After all, she did just run a marathon and was starting to feel its effects. Meanwhile, her ears began to ring. Somepony was talking about her. Her nap could wait. She was flying around very low looking to see what else was going on in Ponyville. She sees Corkscrew heading home and decides to catch up with him.

 

"Hey Corkscrew, what are you doing?

 

Corkscrew 

Corkscrew was almost to his home when he hears a familiar voice from behind him.

 

"Hey Dashie, what's up? Great job in the race today. Another win, and a well deserved one." Corkscrew says as he opens his door. 

 

@@Rainbow Night,

"Hey DarkSun! I'm home!" Corkscrew yelled into his house. "Well Rainbow, I think you may have a rival in Ponyville now." Corkscrew laughed. 

 

Rainbow Dash

Rainbow walked into Corkscrew's house and had a seat on his sofa. "Really," Dash said with a look of interest. "You plan on trying to take back your win from back in flight school? If I remember that was the only time you beat me."

 

Corkscrew

Corkscrew looked at her and laughed. "Not me. Storm Cloud has been saying he wants to race you in the air for the title of Ponyville's fastest flyer."

 

Rainbow Dash

"That rookie that just joined the weather team a few days ago? He's got talent, I'll give him that, but up till now, only one pony has ever pulled off a sonic rainboom. When I see him at work tomorrow, I may just have to have a little talk with him."

 

Rainbow Dash lets out a yawn. "If you'll excuse me, I got some sleep to catch up on. Thanks for the info Corkscrew."

 

With the news of a new challenger in her head, Rainbow Dash perked up and headed for home. If the two were going to race, she needed to be in tip top shape, starting with a good nights sleep.

 

Corkscrew

Corkscrew waved to Rainbow as she left. He than proceeded to the staircase and hollered up to DarkSun's room, "Hey buddy, I'm going to start on dinner. What do you want?"

Licking his lips and not bothing to get up Parcel only smiled and responded.

 

"I am what you ponies would call a changeling."

 

The response was simple and blunt sending a shock through anypony within earshot, they all guess it but now their fears had become real for now in their midst was a love feeder.

Dogboots was taken aback by Parcel's response. Up until now the stallion had only heard of changelings but has never seen one. Yet, the colt began to long for it to turn back into Rockshire.

 

"No! I can't be thinking like that. It-It's not right. It's all in the past and no matter how I feel nothing is going to bring her back but still..." His thoughts lingered. The kiss was so realistic, it didn't feel like a stallions but it felt like she was actually there with him.

 

"I see. So, you're able to change into anypony and you need to feed on love. Is that correct?"

Eventually, Nexus made it to town hall, though he did not enter. He saw outside the building a pony on the ground who looked like he saw a ghost. Laying nearby was a pony with an oddly content look on his face, licking his lips. It sounded like he said something, but the bat pony couldn't make it out. He then noticed that he had some transparent, paper thin wings that were on found on...on...

"A changeling." Nexus hissed under his breath. He pulled out his hoof claws, donning them and beginning to make his approach. Every fiber of his being wanted to run in and murder that bastard right then and there. But that risked getting others hurt, so he used every fiber of his being to stay in control, and walk to them. The stallion was standing up now, and Nexus finally made it to the changeling, stopping in just the right spot so the claws were lightly poking his sides. While he was trying to remain in control, the slightest upset could set Nexus off in a homicidal rage. He still remembered the changeling invasion.

"Sorry to interrupt, you two. My name is Nexus." He said in an almost unsettling pleasant tone. 

(Sorry, I had no idea how to get into it so I just jumped in.)

Parcel Shift stood uo and brushed himself off before looking back up at Dogboots a grim expression on his face.

 

"Don't worry I just had a moment of weekness and it will not happen again, you lucky I almost sucked you dry and I wouldve if I was justany changeling but I am not so I didn't and you're welckme for that but I really must speak to the Mayor now if you'll excuse me."

 

Parcel opened the oak dooors to the mayors office all of his shyness and fear were gone but a bitter sweet taste was left in hus mouth.

"D-Dogboots nice to...meet you?" He said noticing Nexus' claws and batwings. The stallion was flabbergasted and unsure what to think.

 

"First a changeling and now a bat pony. Did that kiss knock me out or something?"

 

Mayor Mare

The mayor was finishing up some of the forms in the aftermath of the annual ponyville race when somepony knocked on the door.

 

"Come in!" She said sifting through some papers, not noticing Parcel enter the room.

Nexus scowled to himself at the changeling's departure but turned to Dogboots.

"Don't be alarmed by the armor and hoof claws." On cue, an arc of electricity jolted through the claws, as it does occasionally. The price to have gear enchanted was astronomical, but it was worth it. He approached the earth pony, concern in his cat-like eyes.

"That changeling didn't hurt you did it? Rest assured that it will be dead by sunset. In that I swear." He said, bitterness present.

"But that comes later. Nice to meet you, Dogboots." He said in a much more pleasant tone. He removed a claw and extended a hoof out.

"You can't!" Dogboots said with concern in his voice. No matter how much he wanted to hide it the stallion wanted to see Rockshire again.

 

"What I mean is that, I don't think you can. When I met that changeling earlier, it bought up something about a scroll it received from Celestia. I'm no detective here but until we know what was in that scroll, I'm sure you have no authority to kill it." He said refuting Nexus' promise.

As much as Nexus hated it, the earth pony had a point. If that creature had a scroll from Celestia herself, killing it would cause more problems than it would solve. He armed himself with the enchanted claws before speaking.

"That thing will suffer one way or another. I have a...personal score to settle with its kind." He said bitterly. He remembered it like it was yesterday. He would make every one of the little bastards pay for what they did. If he couldn't kill it, he would make it's life a living hell.

Parcel smiled at the Mayor pulling out the royal scroll and placing it onto the edge of the desk.

 

"Mayor Mare, Princess Celestia has sent me here on an official bussiness I am here because the princess believes that there is going to be an atttack on Ponyville."

 

At the alarmed expression on the mares face Parcel quickly reasured her.

 

"Don't worry Mayor Mare that is why I am here she believes that I will be able to find these changelings and drive them out however we don't want to alarm the citizens so it's best not to tell them that the changelings might have already infiltrated the area.... Mayor Mare?"

 

He he looked over the desk to see the that the mare had fainted from the news and felt a little

guilty. So when he walked out of the offices and past the two stallions standing outside he said to Dogboots

, " you might want to take a look at the Mayor I think she might have fainted."

He then proceeded to trot off in the direction of the everfree forest Glancing at the bat pony curiously but not saying anything.

Dogboots rushed into the Mayor's office and was greeted with the sight of her on the floor. The stallion checked to see if she was alright and determined that she had fainted. However, his attention soon turned to the scroll that was left out on the desk. He unwrapped the seal and began to read through the scroll, but soon his eyes widened in alarm.

 

"You may want to take a look at this." He advised, handing Nexus the scroll.

Nexus trotted into the room, and taking the scroll with his wings. He opened it up and read the contents, before throwing it down in anger.

"No. Those changeling bucks are NOT taking my home away from me. Not again." He turned to Dogboots, anger and determination in his eyes.

"You should probably make sure the mayor is safe and then get to a safe location. I am going to find those changelings however I can and I am going to kill them." His claws sparked to life, electricity coursing through them at a much higher rate.

"I better find that changeling who came with this scroll. I bet he knows where they are." Nexus turned and began to walk to the door, ready to continue a revenge quest he may never truly complete.

 

(Nexus always seems to go from friendly to outgoing, to the pony equivalent of Shadow the Hedgehog. Ah well)

"Look, I agree that this should be addressed. However, despite your ummmm large physical appearance. You're going to need help. It's going to take more than one bat-pony and a changeling to fight a large group. Let me help!"  He said pleading with Nexus. There was a much deeper reason for helping Nexus out and it bugged the stallion.

Nexus turned to face Dogboots, giving him a stern look.

 

"Let me be clear on this. Changelings are evil. They will not hesitate to kill or imprison you, And they are fully capable of doing it. They are tougher than they look, and I should know. I have had plenty of experience with these things. They could be anywhere...or anypony. They will manipulate your emotions whenever they can, and will try to gain your sympathy when cornered."

Nexus could remember a changeling, near death, back in Canterlot, changing into his mother. It begged him to stop. Nexus knew it was a fake, so he summoned all his will, closed his eyes, and did what needed to be done. Even though it was a rouse, it still hurt.

 

"You must not let them toy with your emotions. You do that, and before you know it, your changeling food. While changelings can't kill you or steal your feelings for something or somepony when they feed, they can weaken you greatly." He looked over the earth pony's current attire.

 

"Your going to need armor and weapons. Got any?"

"Afraid not, Though I've had my fair share of...conflicts. I can handle myself just fine...though a little protection probably wouldn't hurt either." He said noting his attire. Dogboots was aware that he wasn't properly prepared for the upcoming conflict that lays ahead of him.

"Well, how about we head to your place and we can see about arming you." He stepped out of the town hall, and looked around suspiciously at the ponies going about their business. Any one of them could be a changeling. They could be in this plaza. He waited for Dogboots to step out to lead him to his home, as he still didn't know his way around the place.

Dogboots began to lead Nexus back to his place. He could tell that Nexus was surveying nearly everypony that was around him like he suspected them of something.

 

"Well, here we are!" He said in a welcoming tone. The stallion let Nexus enter his residence. The place hasn't even changed at all and there were still pictures of Max that adorned some of the walls as well as his deceased wife.

As the bat pony entered the cottage, he immediately found something off. The walls were decorated with pictures of some green pegasus. And what appeared to be an red-orange mare with him in a few pictures.

 

"Who's the ponies in these pictures? I don't see you in any of these." The place looked rather bare, having only the basic furnishings of a home. A couch, a desk, a few chairs, and tables here and there.
