Twilight Twilight was walking back form the mayor offers. When she got to her library she saw Corkscrew was going to her library. He started to knocking on the library door, Twilight come up to him and said " Well hello Corkscrew how are you. I hope you have to say all of  the ponies are ok" Twilight laugh a little.

"Er, yea, so far, seems damage is minimal and most everypony is OK. I was actually hoping you could help me out. You see, I'm looking for Fire Star. I wanted to thank him for all he did.."

 

Corkscrew gets light headed for a moment and has to stop.

 

"Without his magic, I don't think I would be here still. I fear however, the spell is starting to ware off. I never felt quite right after it to begin with. I was hoping you two could look in to it and what is wrong with me lately."

 

This time, Corkscrew almost collapses in front of the door.

 

"Do you mind if I come in" Corkscrew says holding his head.

She flew back but able to stop herself using her wings, Twilight was in shock how that thing in side Corkscrew was that powerful to push her back. She shakes her head and tell Corkscrew " Well that not good Corkscrew I think you have some sort of parasite in side your body. I telling you this because you need a professional doctor in Canterlot they can take it out of you." Twilight tell Corkscrew. Twilight kind of know what it is she think. But this thing is changing him in side of is body.

 

Fire Star

After Fire woke up he was surrounded with unicorns and he saw Shiny using is magic to keep me in here. " Um.... Why are you keeping me here" Fire ask Shiny and Cadance. " Well Fire your magic is difference but at the same time it like a Changeling it is weird in side you" Cadance tell Fire. Fire look at her he smile and said " You joking right and Changeling" he started to laugh. Cadance look " This is not a laughing matter Fire this is serious" Cadance tell Fire in her serious ton. Fire look at her " What this not a joke at all oh dire Celestia what is wrong with me" Fire start to got scared. Cadance tell him " I gust tell you why and please come down you be OK Fire " Cadance said to him with a smile.

 

Fire started to come down and said " I a Changeling but how." Cadance tell him " You not a Changeling I think you not. You do not have the hunger for love you are not a Changeling" she said. Fire was confused but hoping Cadance can help him.

Corkscrew could feel the magic scan his body, however, after a few moments, he felt his body reject the magic. His eyes glowed white and a blast of magic sent the alicorn princess flying back. Corkscrew was in shock. his mind began to race for what seemed to be an eternity. Finally his head has stopped hurting.

 

"I am so sorry Twilight. I don't know what that was. Wait, What! How would something even get inside of me? I take better care of my body that Rainbow Dash. I..I better go see the head medic in Canterlot. Are you sure your magic can't do anything?"

 

Whatever was inside Corkscrew was now dormant.

 

"If it's ok with you, I think I'm going to take Dash to watch my back on the way to Canterlot."

Having his love sucked out of him wasn't something he was used to yet but as long as it helped somepony or changeling in this case then it didn't matter to him.

Nexus followed the changeling out, and gave an uneasy look at his demeanor.

 

"I'm staying up at the motel a few blocks from here. Why do you ask?" He couldn't understand the urgency, but I he figured it to be a changeling thing. He never understood the mindset of them, even if he knew everything else about them...except how to behave like one.

"Er..I've never seen anything like those. I hav'nt really left Ponyville in the past month, with the exception of a trip to Canterlot. Maybe I just need to sleep it off, but I'm not taking any chances. I'm going to make a quick trip to Canterlot, Just to be safe."

 

Corkscrew waived goodbye to Twilight and made his way back to the streets of Ponyville. 

 

As Corkscrew made his way to the train station, he could feel what was inside of him. It felt like a presence inside of him, though it was dormant for the time being. He bought his ticket and boarded a private room. The train was protected by Unicorn royal guards.

 

As Corkscrew entered his room, he laid down on the bed. He had not been sleeping well, and passed out on the bed. The next morning, he would be in Canterlot, and hopefully they could figure out what was wrong.

As Corkscrew slept, he was finally able to make contact with what was inside him.

 

"I can give you what you want," the voice in his dreams kept repeating. "I can make you stong enough to defeat a changeling queen. I can make your dreams come true," the voice kept repeating. Corkscrew could feel himself slipping into a deep trance. The voice could grant his wishes and make his dreams come true, but at what cost.

 

As the train pulled into Canterlot, the guard medic was there to great Corkscrew, however he was not responsive. It was as though he were in a coma to anypony outside of his head. Time would only tell what was going on with the young guard...

The medic was at Corkscrew's side, and began to run some basic diagnostics. His horn began to glow and he started running the test. No dark magic signatures, no major injuries, no blood clogs. Physically he was healthy. But then he got to the cognitive tests. Brain activity was low, and unusual brainwaves resonated from the pegasus. However, the subconscious was alive with activity, more so than normal. The unicorn medic tried several times to revive the sleeping Guard, to no avail. He brought out a clipboard and began to write a report. The subject was healthy physically, but cognitive function is low in the conscious mind, and the subjects brainwaves are irregular. The subconscious is overactive and slight twitching in the eyes and legs suggest a dream like state. The subect is currently in a comatose state and should be brought in for further care. He finished his report before leaving the room, as they were close to Canterlot. He would need help transporting Corkscrew.

Corkscrew

As time went on, it seemed that Corkscrew was getting lost in his own mind. It was as if the presence was able to manipulate his mind. "Let me help you," the presence said. "I can help you achieve what everypony has always wanted. I can make you the most power guard in history." Suddenly a mirror image of Corkscrew appeared in front of him, only with red eyes. Suddenly the pegasus clone turned into an Alicorn before his eyes.

 

"This could be your future with me," the presence said mocking Corkscrew's voice.

 

Corkscrew looked on in shock.

 

"But...how...how would this even be possible," Corkscrew said, still in disbelief.

 

"Come now," the presence said as it approached Corkscrew. "Why else would you have been chosen for the assignment if greatness was not in your future. With my magic, and your raw power and agility, we would be unstoppable...that is, unless there is something else you wanted even more."

 

This struck a nerve with Corkscrew, as he tried to hid his emotions.

 

Outside his mind, a faint glow was coming off of Corkscrew's body.

Twilight

After Corkscrew left the library Twilight walk to the books and start to look through them. After a hour Twilight notice something in one of the books a parasite blogging to the Changelings. The book has were the parasite blog in the area were the Changelings maybe live in. Twilight look at the parasite in the book " Ok this is a Changelings parasite but how did Corkscrew got it he is not a Changeling" Twilight start to think.

 

Twilight keep on thinking for a good 3 minutes and come up with something. " Maybe the parasite was made no created by Chrisalis to infect" then Twilight stop thinking. Twilight ran to the table and made a letter to the Princess Celestia telling her about the new Parasite Chrisalis had made. And about Corkscrew has the parasite inside him and he need medical help fast.

 

After she finish the letter she send it as fast has she can hoping it make it to the Princess before Corkscrew make it there and the Princess can help him. And after she send the letter to the Princess and then Twilight started to walk to the door and getting her stuff up. She was going to catch the train and then she head the door knocking she walk to the door and open it. And a mail delivery mare she give a letter to Twilight and she left Twilight close the door. It was a letter form her brother and she read the letter and she find out that Fire was in the Crystal Empire, Twilight was in shock " How did Fire got there he was going home the last time I saw him." Twilight has the do first help Fire or Corkscrew she thought for a minute and she decided to help Fire she know the princess Celestia will help Corkscrew after that Twilight left.

 

Fire Star

Fire was in the barrier that Shiny Armor made to keep Fire magic out of harms way. Fire start to sense something " How is that" Fire tell him self. " Maybe is Twilight no" Fire magic started to glow. " Yes it is Twilight she is coming now to here but how I know that" Fire was confused.  

 

And then Fire magic start to glow more bright and then Fire magic started to collapse the barrier Shiny try to keep it up. But the barrier collapse Shiny fell down Princess Cadance look at the magic of Fire and she was scared of it.

 

Fire eye started to turn red and then Fire was in side his mind, Fire open his eye and look around and noticed something Fire was in a Changelings nest. " Oh dear Celestia I am screwed" Fire said.

Pinkie Pie

It was a lovely day in Ponyville. There was no sign of the invasion, at least what she could see. The protective dome from the elements made the sky as pink as cotton candy. Pinkie was hopping along, waving to all her friends in Ponyville when she saw a familiar face. 

 

"Hey there Mr. Plagal! How are you doing on a lovely day such as today? The birds are singing, the sun is out, and no sign of those nasty changelings. Today is shaping up to be a great day."

 

"Hey, if it rained with that pink shield up, do you think the rain would taste like cotton candy?"

 

"Hey, I know! I don't mean to sound mean, but I haven't seen you around a lot of ponies since you came to town. Do you want to fallow me and meet all of my friends? Doesn't that sound like fun?"

Parcel turned to where Nexus had indicated and ran straight into Luminari, "oh hey, um look I can't talk right now but I'll talk to you later ok?" He loved seeing the golden mare again but he needed to talk to Nexus what they were dealing woth was too important. When they arrived inside Nexus' place Parcel shut the door behind them and turned to Nexus, "what is wrong with you!"

Nexus gave Luminari an apologetic look before he followed Parcel into his motel room. The room was rather empty, as Nexus didn't own many things. He turned his head to Parcel when he snapped with the door closing.

 

"Beg you pardon?" He asked, genuinely confused about what the issue was. Did he screw something up? He shouldn't be so confused, as he knew more about changelings than anypony, but maybe he just didn't know a thing about hybrids.

Parcel was pacing this whole time his wings vibrating every few seconds and he looked at Nexus now smiling,"you know for somepony who knows so much about changeling you sure are having a hard time being one. It's like you just hatched."

Nexus responded in a voice just slightly above room level.

 

"Look, I know the mechanics of changeling nature and behavior but I never had to ACT like one. I didn't even know my line was out, I thought that was just something I had to get used to. And in my defense I didn't do jack crap with Dogboots. He just started making out and I was too busy blacking out to do a damned thing about it. Forgive me if I can't function like a changeling pony hybrid thing the first day of being one." He looked agitated, as he did not like to be confronted with this. He honestly didn't want to be this, this...thing, but he had no choice. He thought it would be fine, but now he learns he needs to do something he despises. That is pretty hard news.

Nexus attempted a theory he had. He imagined a green energy line, acting like string, with his heart being the source. He imagined it being connected to all those around him, and energy feeding through it. He then imagined the line being cut in two, dividing him from the others. In that instance, he felt it leave. He opened his eyes, looking over to Parcel.

 

"Done. Also, I think I should point this out, since you said that love cannot regen if it is sapped completely. I remember presenting this idea to the Canterlot scientific division a few years back. I noticed that every now and again, changelings and ponies fall in love with each other. I studied such cases, and found that the changeling shows signs of having a line attached to the one they love consistently. And the pony never grew weak. Never showed any symptoms of feeding that are common in extended or intense feeding. At the same time, the changeling never showed signs of hunger. In fact after two weeks of this, the holes present in the changelings hooves, wings, mane and tail vanished completely."

 

He took a minute to to take a breath, before his face turned somber.

 

"One case I was discovered by the changeling while it was on a date with a pegasus mare. He thought me a rapist or something, I don't recall, but it ended in his head coming off. Within 37 seconds of death, the mare collapsed and died as well. Her heart failed and was beyond recovery. So it leads me to believe that when changelings and ponies share this connection, they changeling gets an unlimited source of food, but if one dies, the other follows. Just thought you should know that if you start getting serious with Luminari."

He thought about this for a while, he was surprised at the fact that Nexus knew things about changelings that even Parcel didnt. This was probably due to the fact that changelings didn't fall in love with ponies all that often it would be like a pony falling in love with a sandwich. In fact changelings didn't fall in love with eachother they were asigned a partner to look after younger changelings.

Parcel looked up then, "Nexus, what does love feel like. I mean really feel like not just taste."

Nexus thought about that for a moment.

 

"Well, can't say I have fallen in love-romantically speaking-but I remember my family and friends well. Being around my parents made me happy, no matter how depressed I was at the time. I smiled a lot when we did things together, and when we talked. I remember having great fun with Meryl, she was like the little sister I never had. Love fills you with this...warmth, for lack of a better word. You want to make them happy because that in turn makes you happy. Their smile does more than any anti depressant could do. Their mere presence is a life giver. Tasting love for the first time, from Dogboots, was sweet, but that's it. It's like eating gourmet food. When you feel it, it is the greatest feeling ever."

 

He looked down to the floor, sadness setting in.

 

"But if you lose them, be it from death or hate, it kills you. A piece of your heart and souls dies with them. And you never truly get over it, you just learn ways to cope. It makes you feel like a walking corpse, a shell of who you were. I remember making jokes a lot in the clan, and had a small fanbase going."

 

He looked up at Parcel.

 

"I haven't made a conscious effort to joke or kid since then. Just dry sarcasm. I don't smile, or laugh, and I haven't loved another pony since then. It is terrible."

Had it been yesterday that Plagal saw the bouncy, pink pony approach him, he would have turned around and all but galloped in the opposite direction.  Today was different though, and he was actually kind of glad to see the mare.  Huh, he thought to himself, that's two whole ponies who went out of their way to say hello to me, and it's hardly even noon!  That's... actually a very nice thought.  "Hello Miss Pinkie!" he responded.  "You're right, it does seem to be an exceptionally nice day, doesn't it?"

 

"Hey, if it rained with that pink shield up, do you think the rain would taste like cotton candy?"

 

"Wait, what?  Er... um, I'm... not sure...  It's... possible?  That doesn't make a whole lot of sense...  I suppose if the barrier is made of cotton candy though, perhaps a magical anti-changeling cotton candy...  Wait, that doesn't make any sense; the cotton candy would dissolve in the rain.  Unless..."  Thankfully, Pinkie stopped him before he could continue.

 

"Hey, I know! I don't mean to sound mean, but I haven't seen you around a lot of ponies since you came to town. Do you want to fallow me and meet all of my friends? Doesn't that sound like fun?"

 

Plagal froze, his muscles stiffening.  All of her friends? he thought with a shudder.  He was afraid that such a number would likely be very close to infinity.  Anxiety began to creep into his voice as he said, "Er, um...  Well, you see, I'd love to but..."  Then he stopped himself.  Taking a moment to clear his mind, he smiled and started again.  "You know what?  That does sound like fun.  Loads of fun, in fact, and I'd love to join you if you wouldn't mind me tagging along."  If I'm going to meet other ponies, he thought, I might as well start by meeting all of them.
