Fluttershy barely suppressed a squeak of fright at the news.  Her eyes widened and her muscles tensed, but she couldn't give up.  "A-Alright...  If you think that doing this will help you, then I believe you.  But I'm... st-staying... okay?  Otherwise, what happens if you get hurt?  There will be nopony here to get you help.  I-I'll stay out of sight, so you won't have to worry about me."

 

Nightmare Corkscrew 

"The Changelings are coming. I need you to stay safe. If something....anything happens to me, just stay out of harms way."

 

Corkscrew rubs his head agents her's.

 

"Now go!" as he stomps his hoof, cracking the floor around it.

Corkscrew's eyes were slowly turning red once more. He was able to embrace his inter emotions. He could feel the presence of a changeling in the old castle with them. It made him enraged. His horn was glowing with dark magic and it was drawing him closer to the changeling and Nexis.

Nexus thought about that for a moment. He was probably going to get eviscerated by changelings any moment, and Corkscrew too. He didn't like the idea of a pony getting fed on, but then he got an idea.

 

"You can feed off of me as the one pony. You better hold up your end of the deal or the last thing I do is eat your still beating heart."

The changeling backed away at the alicorns approach but when Nexus stepped in she smirked, "name's Cypriss, and I already have a meal planned out its heading this way now and should be here any minute you tell it I'm a changeling and the deal's off. And where do you think I'm leading you to? Every changeling is coming to cut your throat now anyone you want will come to us.

Nexus could feel the changelings getting closer. But he needed to clear this up before he left.

 

"Who are you planning on feeding on? I don't like the idea of throwing another pony under a bus for my benefit." He didn't want to give one life for another, and needed to know what he was getting into.

Luminari made her way through the trees and into the clearing a bundle of blue flowers being held by magic next to her. The hood of her red cloak pulled up over her head. Cypriss ran across the clearing still in Parcels form, "oh my gosh what are you doing here I told you to stay back in town everyone here is in danger why would you come here." Cypriss attached her line to the unicorn beginning to feed but before she could even feed for long Luminari shoved the blue flowers in the changelings face. Cypriss backes up in surprise, "wha-what was that for?" And before there was an answer her form flickered between different shapes a brown mare, a pink pegasi, a zebra, a mule, more shapes all different kinds she could keep the one form. Luminari huffed and trotted over the Nexus a smug look on her face.

Nexus looked from Luminari, to the blue flowers of the Everfree, to Cypriss sporadically changing form. He whistled in amazement, looking down to the unicorn next to him.

 

"Damn girl, you're tougher than you look." He said, clearly impressed.

 

"OK, well, I'm about to be brutally murdered by ever changeling within a 50 mile radius. So climb onto my back and I'll get us the hell out of here. Maybe if we find the real Parcel, he can teach me how to disconnect from the hive mind." A low roar of buzzing could be heard. The sound of thousands of changelings speeding towards them with a single purpose in mind: Kill Nexus Tersona. The hybrid lowered his backside to allow the unicorn to jump on. Leaving her, she would likely draw attention from her love and would be drained.

Fire look at Corkscrew sanddened of his choice " Yes all ponies have little evil in them  but well all have a choice to follow the evil in us. You have the same choice you say you do not have emotions in you but why you attack use. Or Fluttershy the mare how does not in love with you at all only be friend. I say you have the emotions a some of it show every time you talk to Fluttershy. Do not keep on saying you do not have emotions you have in gust go deep in your heart you will fine it." Fire said to him hoping well help Corkscrew to see what he is doing.

 

" If you do not stop what you doing" Fire look down for a second " I have to stop you be fore you destroy Equestria and you well regret you have done. That Mars is not helping you at all he is using you on tell you bring him back to Equestria." Hoping bring some common sense to him. Fire magic started to glow white on his horn. Fire have no choice to put down is barrier know the Changelings are coming but if Corkscrew start to attack Fire, Fire well got hurt bad that why he have on choice.

 

 

Twilight

 

Twilight ran for a 8 minutes she finally fine Rainbow Dash on a cloud helping out the ponies. " Rainbow We Need Your help now Your Friend Corkscrew have turn Evil I know you do not believe me but it is the Truth." "Hoping She Believe me" Twilight thought to herself.

Fire look at Corkscrew was some what happy " Ok it is true he still like her but he is still fighting some what" Fire thought to himself.

 

Using his magic Fire ask her in her mind " Sorry Fluttershy you do not know me but I Twilight friend and I ask you to keep on talking to him. Twilight need some time to get Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity if you can be brave of a little longer" Fire begged her.

 

Fire was hoping Twilight got her friends soon.

Fluttershy was startled by the presence in her mind.  She wasn't sure what it was, but it would be impolite to ignore it.  I'm sorry, she thought towards the presence, I don't know if I can...  He's starting to get angry, and I don't want to distract him when the changelings come.  I'll do my best though, I promise!

"What is wrong with me!" Corkscrew screams out "What did I do to deserve this! All I wanted to do is help ponies, and now I can't even help myself!"

 

Corkscrew was looking at Fire. The changeling queen was closing in on them. Mar's presence was fading. His fur slowly returning to its orangeish color, His mane going form black to the shade of red it had always been, though long and wild. He layed on the floor weeping at what he had done. His body and wings were still as large as they had been in his nightmare form. The dark magic that had been swirling around his horn slowly vanished. The horn however, remained, though no magic could be seen coming from it. 

 

"I'm sorry for what I have done, and what I planned to do!"

Luminari took a step back a look of fear on her face a word popping up 'heights?'

Meanwhile Cypriss had fallen backwards breaking one of her wings laying on the ground her form had finally stopped changing and when she looked down she looked in horror to see that the form she had taken was Nexus'. The instinct of a changeling is to survive at all costs but Cypriss didnt do that instead she did the exact oposite, "go," it was a whisper at first and then, "Go! Get out of here they'll come after mejust go!" In that Iinstant she had sealed her fate saving the enemy for who knows what reason ever she herself didn't quite know but her mind was made up and she said once more, "just go." She lay her head down and closed her eyes waiting for the end.

"Corkscrew, I hate to play asshole right now, but it's too late to back out. I'm about to die at the hands of every changeling from Cloudsdale to Apple Loosa. And the queen will sit back and watch. I can't fight them off alone. So you need to pony up and help me kill these sons of bitches!"

 

 

It was here that he looked down at the changeling that took his form. And how she was going to sacrifice herself for him. Nexus sighed deeply. He would play hero one last time, he decided. He hoisted her on his back, and called out to Luminari.

 

"Stay by Corkscrew and get him on his hooves. Then get the hell out of here. I'm taking Cypriss and making my way out of town."

"You idiot that flower thing won't let me change form just leave me here and go." She spoke in her own voice but her form had not changed she still had Nexus' appearance and she began kicking her hooves around trying to stop him. Her thoughts interconnecting with the rest of the hive and learned that they were only a few feet away.

 

Luminari smile in relief happy that she didn't have to face her own fear tonight and joyfully trotted over to Corkscrew helping standing by his side and putting on her war face her horn beginning to glow ready to attack. She'd rather face a hundred changelings than take her hooves off the ground.

"Get him out of here, Luminari. As for you..." Nexus turned his head to face the struggling changeling on his back. It was weird to hear a female voice come from a illusion of himself, but he shrugged it off.

 

"You sticking with me. The fact that you didn't kill me on sight and nearly killed yourself for me shows that their is good in you. And I intend to get it out. One way or another." Nexus gave a powerful flap of his wings, and bolted away from the scene, Cypriss on his back. He needed to get away fast.

Corkscrew

Corkscrew was starting to come back to his senses. He stood up, looking at the unicorn.

 

"I was the cause of this, I'm going to help finish it," he said as color began to return to him. "I'm not going to let anypony get injured because of my ego and Mars," Corkscrew said to the unicorn, "And I'll be damned if anypony even tries to touch Fluttershy!"

 

With that, a blast of magic catches Corkscrew by surprise as it shoots out of his horn.

 

"What...what the buck was that?" he said as he looked at the unicorn next to him hoping for an answer.

 

"Nexis, I got us into this, and I'll get us out of it. That queen wanted me for some reason. Maybe I can work this out."

Cypriss could only cling to Nexus' neck as they climbed higher into the sky her broken wing laying limp by her side she looked down at it and huffed clearly unhappy with her predicament.

 

Luminari shrugged the word 'magic?' Popping up in front of her she had never seen magic like that and tried producing a blast of her own but everything about it was different. The blast she had produced had bounced of the wall and hit the ground but no, it wasn't a wall walls dont move covering the wall were dozens of swarming changelings all glaring at the two. The mare gulped and took a step closer to Corkscrew one word popping up 'mommy'

Nexus flew, looking for a place to hide. He eventually found a cave, and upon entering the cave, he saw that it was just deep enough for two jet black ponies to stay hidden in. He flew to the back, letting Cypriss of his back.

 

"Now then, since we are no longer in immediate danger, let's do a little Q&A. Why give your life for me?"

She crawled to the farthest part of the cave her back turned to him, "I don't have to explane myself to you, I have my own reasons for doing things." She didn't want him to see her, or rather his, face a look of shame filled her eyes. In truth she didn't know how to answer his question, she thought she must've been crazy giving herself up to the enemy and now all she wanted to do was curl up into a ball and starbe to death.

Fire stared together the magic around the plant to his body started to glow white the more he getter more he look  whiter. Fire look at Corkscrew and Fluttershy and tell them " I hope you two be happy for now on to the end of time" Fire said to them.

 

Then he saw Twilight with her friend he smile at her and then he let out a Big Blast of magic out of himself. The magic was like a Big waves of light out of Fire Pushing all the Changelings out of Equestria for good. And then after a minutes the light come down Twilight started to see again and she didn't see. Fire at all but only a white feather remains on the ground were Fire was at.

She was sand to see one of her friend died "He use all of his magic to save all the ponies to live happy life." Twilight hard a  voice it was Fire saying to her " I was ok I'm in a new place I happy now be happy for me ok Twilight I well miss you, have a good life bye" then that the voice was gone. Twilight was no more sand but happy for him " I well see around Fire" She said in a sand and a happy tone.

 

She look at Corkscrew "I see you are back to normal" She tell him. She look at her friends "Look like we are not needed" She tell them. 

 

After a 3 hour she walk back to the library and make a letter to the Princess Celestia what happen. And she finish the letter she send to the Princess.

Corkscrew looks over to Luminari as the blast from Fire Star cleared the room of changelings, however, many more were closing in. 

 

"I can't believe he just did that, using his own life to save us. I....I don't think we're safe just yet though."

 

"Thankyou Twilight, but you better get working on that letter. I'll be back in town shortly."

 

As Twilight left with her friends to wright her letter to Celestia, a fain thud could be heard on the ceiling of the ancient castle, as many more changelings had arrived. Corkscrew was confused. 

"Why would they still be after us? Nexis left, as well as the alicorn princess. There can't be any reason for them to stick around here."

 

Corkscrew walks over to a puddle on the floor and looks into it. He was still the same size as in his Nightmare form, horn and all. His wild mane and larger wings. 

 

".....er, Luminari, What exactly happened to me again?"

 

At that moment, a changeling scout enters the castle looking around. It had not seen Corkscrew, but was looking for something, or somepony.

 

"Do you think he's looking for Nexis?" he whispered to the unicorn mare.

A shiver went down her spine as Cypriss sat up turning around her eyes glowing in the dark of the cave the light glinting off her fangs her body was staring to change to it's oringional state. " you know what, you're right. I should just kill you right now that could end all of this stupidity right now. But I can't, she needs you, you can do things others can't."

This got the bat pony's attention. He looked Cypriss in the *glowing* eye, an unreadable look on his face.

 

"She? You mean Chrysalis, the changeling queen? Why does she need me? What makes me so special, aside from being a hybrid?" Nexus had, at this point, mostly tuned out the hive mind, the thousands upon thousands of thoughts a mere whisper now. Nothing but white noise. But he could feel the queen's influence, and her attempts to control and integrate Nexus into her hive. For his part, Nexus was resisting rather well.

Luminari crouched behind a fallen pillar yanking Corkscrew down next to her showing him the words 'dummy, get down before you're seen'yet again she went into detective mode watching the scout intently.

 

Cypriss'smile grew wider, "oh yes, she wants you. see she thinks that we're all one big happy family," this she said very sarcastically but she wasn't done, "and she wants you to get introduced to everyone not only that but she wants to make you her new pet. See Virus was her old pet but he was fiction until you made him real and then killed him. But now she wants you more havent you noticed that you could see right through my change, see my line, maybe you can even feed of us I don't know. What I do know is she thinks that now that you're part changeling that you belong to her now, all of us do and she'll stop at nothing to take and keep what belongs to her. Now I think it's time for both of us to go home, and you'll do it too and I know why. Because she already has your little colt blue.

"Little colt blue? What the hell is...Parcel!" Nexus realized what he was told. They must of captured him during the swarm and brought him back to the hive.

 

"That "little colt blue" is the only changeling to actively choose not to be a slave. A creature of instinct, feeding on anypony he can. But your queen just can't have her pets running free can she? Damnit." Nexus was torn. He needed to get Parcel out of there, but he risked his own freedom in the process. In the end, he made up his mind.

 

"Fine then. Let's go see your queen. I've been meaning to 'thank' her for the invasion 16 years ago anyway."

The changeling scout explored the room, looking around, as it appeared to give some all clear signal. As other changelings come into the room, its attention is drawn towards the fallen piller that Corkscrew and Luminari are hiding behind. Even crouched down, Corkscrew horn must have stuck up an inch over the pillar.

 

Corkscrew

"Great." Corkscrew whispered to the unicorn beside him. "Yet another time this stupid horn has gotten me in trouble. I don't even think I can do magic since Mars left me."

 

The scout was getting closer. Another scout entered the room and began to approach also.

 

"I'm going to try something. If it dosen't work, run. At Lest this horn will make a good spear it backfires."

 

Corkscrew was in a deep train of thought, trying to levitate a small pebble and throw it to grab the changelings attention.
