Neon looked at the floor and kicked away a bit of dust, thinking to herself. "Well, if you really want to help me that much, then I suppose you can." she shuddered at the thought of a music concert, that would just be too much like the home she grew up in. Noisy, ponies screaming and rolling around, can't hear a word anypony is trying to speak to you... "I'm not a big fan of music, unfortunately..." she paused "but I know you have a nice singing voice, and it'd be a shame for you not to use it since you like to sing..." she gritted her teeth "I suppose we could put on a music concert" she couldn't believe what she was saying, but Music Note was such a happy, helpful pony she felt like she owed it to her to let her do something she liked.

When they got to the room were Corkscrew and Fire will be living in now they saw Fluttershy leaving the  room.  " Oh Fluttershy are you leaving for tonight I can got some guards to take you to the train" Luna offer to Flutershy.

 

Fluttershy

 

"Oh, um," she started, surprised to see the princess here, "there's no need to bother them...  I think I'll be fine, thank you."

 

Fire saw Fluttershy and ran to her " Look Fluttershy now I can use my wings now why can you stay here and see me fly as fast as my Big Brother" Fire ask and bag her to stay.

 

Fluttershy winced.  "I'm sorry Fire, but I have to go.  There are animals back in Ponyville that I need to care for.  I promise that I'll come back soon though!  I hope that's all right..."  She turned to leave, but then remembered what Corkscrew had said earlier.  "Oh, I almost forgot!  Corkscrew said to tell you that it's time for your guy's nap, and that he'll go flying with you as soon as he's able to."  Finally, she turned and walked off.

 

 

"Any idea why the princess is coming here?" He asked Plagal, making conversation.

 

Plagal Cadence

 

Plagal had never given too much thought into how much work setting up a stage actually was.  Usually when he arrived places, these sort of things were already set up.  It wasn't bad work per say, there just was a lot of it.  He was glad to be doing it with a friend though.

 

"I would guess that it has to do with that changeling invasion," he answered, "or maybe that bizarre incident with the dark alicorn...  Did you hear about that?  It was the talk of the town for a day or two."  He couldn't remember if Dogboots had been around during that event.

Music Note

 

After Neon tell her she can have a music concert Music smile at her. Music tell her " I promise the music well not be loud." Music smile " I well like you to sing with me to after all this is your house" Music tell her. " I think you have a beautiful singing voice I know you didn't sing yet but the way you talk to me you must sing sometime" Music tell her.

 

" I well get my band and I well talk to the mayor to put up a concert up in ponyville. And I decided to live here to I think you need me to help you out in ponyville ." Music said to Neon she walk up to her and look at her " I know you must hate concert but you well see the concert I put up are more fun and  I hope you well love it" Music said it with a happy tone.

 

Fluttershy

Fire look at her and he jump at her and give her a big hug and he let go of her and said " I hope you do come back maybe like tomorrow" Fire tell her hoping she say yes to him.  And she tell him Corkscrew tell him to go and tack a nap with Corkscrew.

 

Princess Luna

 

Luna look at Fluttershy and said " It no bother for them it they duty to protect ponies but if you still you do not want them is fine to" Luna tell her.

 

Then she look at Fire " I think your brother need you to take a nap now Fire" She said to him. Fire tell her "I not Luna why I need to take a nap now I still want to play " He said to her. 

 

Luna tell him " You need to tell your brother that not me now go and see your brother and tell him that" she said.  Fire walk to the door and look back to them and said " Have a good night bye now" and he open the door and he enter the room .

 

Luna tell Fluttershy " We hope you have a save trip home now we now must go back to our duty now Bye now." and Luna walk off now.

Celestia looked to Twilight. "Well, My student, It's time to head to Ponyville. It should be and interesting evening. We must leave immediately."

 

She looked to two of her guards. "We are ready for the statue."

"Come now Twilight. I need you to keep an eye on everypony for me. Remember, this is a issue of grave importance for Equestria. Nopony must find out about Corkscrew."

 

Celestia and her guard left with the statue for Ponyville, hoping that her star student was fallowing.

"Did you have fun with Princess Luna?" Skycoaster said in a depressed tone laying on his bed. "Pookie was keeping me company waiting for your return. We've had a busy day. Do you want to play cards or something to pass the time till it is time for bed? It's too late now, but I'll take you flying tomorrow around the grand ballroom."

 

Corkscrew tryed to pick up the deck of cards using his magic, only to send them flying all over the room. He put his head down in disappointment.

"Can you get those for me Fire, than I'll show you how to play Apleloosa Poker, looser buys hay shakes." He said, still depressed.

"Testing one. Testing one two. Testing one two three weee! Thanks Dogboots and Plagal!" Pinkie said through the PA system. "Oh, I almost forgot! Plagal, Celestia wanted me to give you a note. She wants you to here later. Isn't that great!"

 

Pinkie looked up to Canterlot.

 

"Well any minuet now, they should be coming. I just hope Mare Mayor has everypony ready. The princess has seemed kind of cranky in her letter to me. Oh well. After this meeting, Party Time!"

When Fire picking up the cards Corkscrew made a joke what Fire was picking up the cards.  Fire look at Corkscrew he put a slight smile but he was still depressed, Fire smile when Corkscrew smile.  After Fire pickup all the cards he walk to  Corkscrew and tell him " Brother I think you need to play outside with me playing some games, in this room feels stuffy right now" Fire grape Corkscrew hoof and pull him outside.

 

Fire pull Corkscrew to the gardens he was in later of the day. " Big Brother we can play here I play here with Luna later of the day" Fire was jumping around Corkscrew. " Come on Brother this well make you so happy if you play with me" Fire tell Corkscrew with a smile.

The mayor began trotting up slowly towards the podium. Looking the stage up and down, she had to go through a lot of hoops to have this thing set up. If it hadn't been for Pinkie Pie getting this all set up this wouldn't have been possible.

 

"Fillies and Gentlecolts, Princess Celestia will be arriving soon so please be patient," She said putting on a fake smile and looking out in the distance for the Princess.

 

Dogboots

The stallion was out in the crowd. He knew he could leave but was for some odd reason intrigued to stay.

"Thank you Mayor Mare." as Celestia steps up to the podium. "Everypony is probaly wondering what I am doing here today. As everypony knows, Ponyville was the site of battle. A battle with the changelings. A battle, that thanks to all of you, we won."

 

The guards that where with her, began to unload the statue, and place it in front of Corkscrew's house.

 

"There were many ponies that stepped up to defend Equestria, and today we honor those from Ponyville." Celestia looks to Plagal.

 

"Plagal Cadence, Could you please come up here."

 

Celestia was waiting for Twilight to arrive to dedicate the statue.

As Plagal approached, she motioned for him to come forward. "Plagal Candace. It has come to my attention that you were involved with the defense of Ponyville. Something everypony is grateful for. You have my sincerest thanks."

 

Celestia motions that he can leave the stage.

 

"As you all know, this battle was not without it's casualties. Many of you were injured, however I'm glad to see that you are making full recoveries. I can not say the same for someponies were not so luck. To honor those that have perished, I dedicate this statue," as she uses her magic to take the cover off. "Let this statue be a reminder to the scrafice that these ponies made."

She pauses for a moment and takes out a list.

 

"Corkscrew. Who selflessly rescued the the element of kindness." She lowers her head. "He never made a full recovery from his injuries."

 

"Fire Star, who is missing after heading into the Everfree to hold off the changelings."

 

She pauses for a few more seconds.

"Nexis, the changeling hunter who helped a whole town in the short time he was here, only to chase down the changelings on there retreat."

 

"And finally the reformed changeling that alerted us to this threat, who we beleve went with Nexis to ensure Equestria's safety. A moment of silence for them please."

 

"Now for the other reason I came. It has come to my attention that a so called nightmare was seen running around Ponyville and than off into the Everfree Forest. I can assure everypony that it was just a changeling trick. You have nothing to fear. Everypony is welcome to come and get a better view of the statue if they'd like."

 

Celestia was waiting for her star student to arrive to give her speech.

 

The stature consided of Corkscrew in his armor in an attack position, wings extended. Behind him was Fire Star, with magic swirling around his horn. Underneath it, it read "Defenders of Ponyville. Friends till the end." The other side featured a list of all those that were injured during the battle, including Dogboot's name.

Mayor Mare

 

To say that the mayor was stunned would be an understatement. Far from it in fact, she had known that the princess was coming but had no idea that she was bringing a statue to commemorate the heroic acts of the ponies here who helped stop the changeling invasion.

 

"Well Princess Celestia, I think I speak for everypony here how gracious we are for this wonderful statue here at Ponyville. I agree with the Princess that we should commemorate those who not only fought but also were injured," She stated to everypony who were amazed by the statue.

 

Dogboots

 

The earth pony began making his way towards the statue. The stallion briefly glanced or rather shot a brief glare at the princess before checking out the statue. It was well done and he was incredibly proud of everypony who had done their part. Others had said how nice and honored they were to have their names listed on the statue, but it wasn't the same for Dogboots. He had gotten injured before the invasion even happened. 

 

"My name doesn't deserve to be on this statue. If anything it's more of an insult really. "Hey thanks for not helping thrwart an invasion due to your injury" Corkscrew, Fox and Nexus all helped stopped the invasion. I did absolutely nothing. They deserve credit but not me," He thought to himself. The stallion had the urge to just scratch out his name on the statue but it would be incredibly disrespectful and cause more trouble than what it was worth.

Twilight   

 

Twilight come after Princess Celestia speech she come out of the cart and walk to Celestia. She waited for Mayor Mare finish her speech. After a 8 minute Mayor Mare finish her speech Twilight come up on the stage and she look around and all the ponies where waiting for her speech.

 

Twilight took a deep breath and started her speech " All you ponies how know me as friends and neighbor on ponyville have a speech to say of Fire Star and Corkscrew. I have not know Corkscrew as much like other ponies. The only thing I know of him is he was a great friend of three of my friends. And the time of the invasion and he was a great guard for Ponyville. It is a great lost for ponyville and his friends and family." Twilight stud quiet for a minute.

 

" And Fire Star he was a friend, a friend I was glad to know, a pony who have a hard life, a pony who want to start a new life here in ponyville. And make some friends here and he did thanks to all the you ponies made it happen." Twilight turn her head to  Plagal Candace and Dogboots.

 

Twilight turn back to all the ponies " Like Celestia  said Fire Star was doing his part to defend ponyville form the invasion. And some thing happen doing the invasion he got missing in Everfree" Twilight was doing her best not to tell all the ponies what happen to him.

 

" I and all his friends and Family will miss him I hope with this statue Fire Star and Corkscrew will be remembered what they have done and sacrificed to save all  the ponies in this town and Equestria. Thank you listing" Twilight then walk off the stage and to Celestia " Princess Celestia I think I have to go back and see they are Ok excuse Princess" Twilight walk to the cart and went on it and she left Ponyville and back to Canterlot.

Plagal was stunned by Celestia's words.  Corkscrew... Fire... Gone?  This couldn't be true.  It just couldn't!  But... Fire healed Corkscrew!  He only had a headache!  If we had only known it was more than that...  He barely heard what was said afterwards.  All he could think about were the four ponies; two of which he had considered acquaintances, if not friends.

 

When the speech is done, I have to ask what happened, he decided.  They don't seem to know about Nexus, Fire, or the changeling, but I need to know what happened to Corkscrew.  Fire healed him!  He should have been fine!  He then thought more on it.  Er... no, never mind.  She's the princess, she has more important business to be about.

 

Don't you dare think that, said a part of Plagal's mind that he thought had gone away.  We have to do this.

 

But I can't, he responded.

 

But we HAVE to!

 

But I CAN'T!

 

His consciousness was quiet for a moment.  Fine, it said, have it your way.  I could've sworn that you had changed, but apparently I was wrong.

 

Finally, his mind was quiet, and he began to listen again.  It was Princess Twilight who was speaking now.

 

" ...and he did thanks to all the you ponies made it happen." Twilight turn her head to Plagal Cadence and Dogboots.

At the end of the speeches, he discreetly approached the two princesses.  "Um... er... excuse me, your Majesties?" he asked, trying to gain their attention.  "I... I... er... I wanted to know if you knew more about what happened to Corkscrew?  I had thought that his injuries were healed; though he came to me the next morning saying that he had a headache.  That was the last I saw of him..."  It hurt him to say all of this, and it was difficult to fight back tears.  "Please, your Majesties, if know anything more, could you tell me?"

Celestia looked at the blue stallion, giving him a glare. "I am not at liberty to give that information," she snapped. She seamed irritated at the question, almost angry. "But let's head inside." as she opened the door to Corkscrew's house and entered.

"I don't want you to repeat this. The fate of Equestria may depend on this. He came to Canterlot seeking help, there, he had some....unforeseen reaction to Fire's magic. That is all I'm at liberty to say. What knowledge do you have from the night after you last saw him?"

Nexus, and, I assume, the changeling left.  Then, well, everything just went back to normal I suppose...  Sorry, your Majesty, that's... that's about all that I know."  He lifted a hoof to wipe the sweat from his brow, hoping that what he said would be acceptable to the princess.

"Oh," she laughed "I-I don't sing, I don't really like music, so I've got no reason to." she hid her face behind one hoof "W-when will you be putting on the concert? Do all the ponies here like music? Do concerts happen a lot?!" she began to panic a little bit, what if the ponies here were just as noisy as the ones at home? Just because it's a small town doesn't mean it's quiet! Oh what a mess she had got herself into now, and she couldn't very well move back now.

 

No, she was over reacting. She put her hoof down and smiled at her new friend. "I'm sorry, it's just that I heard Ponyville was a nice quiet place, well quieter than the city anyway."

Music Note

 

Music saw Neon to panic, Music look at her she walk to her and put her hoof on Neon shoulder. Before Music say anything she tell Music No to her.

 

Neon tell her she was not interested to sing in the concert. She tell her she moved to ponyville looking for a nice quiet place. And she was tier the noise in the city.

 

Music then tell her " You must hate music that much but I think ponyville is a quiet place but I do not know it I do not live here at all" Music said to Neon. Music took a deep breath and tell her " Look Neon I got the hit you hate music but this is your house I can't just put a concert with out you. I well not put a concert at all. I will do something different to help you out" Music tell her.

 

Music smile at her she walk to the front door and open it and tell Neon " I go and look for some ponies who are interesting for helping use out for your house. But if you are not interested for any one to help tell me now and I well not ask any one at all. But I well help you out to make this pleas looking as all some late you." Music said in a big smile on her face.

Before Plagal could answer, Pinkie busted in. "Ohhh! Ohhh! I know the answer! First off the alicorn was a boy, Second He had an orange streak in his main and on his fur...ohhh and he had a cutie mark similar to Corkscrews! Do I win?!

 

Celestia used her magic to shut the door quickly, giving Pinkie Pie a stare than looking back to Plagal to see his reaction.

"Wait Pinkie-!" The earth pony said, but it fell on deaf ears. Dogboots sighed and pursued the pink mare only to have the door slam shut in front of him.

 

"Talk about rude," He thought to himself before preparing to buck open the door. It was a bit rude to do but the door didn't seem to budge when he tried opening it.

 

The stallion soon bucked the door open nearly knocking it off it's hinges. It was a good thing that he held back otherwise he would've done much more damage.

 

"Pinkie, you can't be barging into-" He said before stopping. What was in front of the stallion was Plagal and Princess Celestia. Dogboots glared at the princess in anger.

 

"IT'S HER! You have to tell her! She didn't do a bucking thing to help the earth ponies. Leaving the unicorns in charge to oversee the farmers! They ruined farms, lives, paid very little! If she cares about everypony then how come she didn't help us! She has no idea what it's like to work for a living, to starve, to hurt..." The stallion thought to himself. It was incredibly difficult to keep his composure especially around somepony who he had little to no respect for at all.

 

"Celestia," He said in a calm but agitated tone. It was all the stallion could say without saying how he truly felt. It wasn't the right time or place for his own feelings though.
