Philosophy Pony 123 April 6, 2013 Share April 6, 2013 In the past 2 months, starting February 19th, I became a brony. My love for nature, and the connection Flutter Shy has to animals were what clicked in. And since then I've got to meet a lot of other cool brony's But I don't really know any other Flutter shy guys People who love nature and love they way MLP expresses a healthy environment. So where are ya Enviro-ponys? 5 “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” ― Mark Twain

Алексей 110 April 10, 2013 Share April 10, 2013 (edited) Huuuuge Fluttershy fan over here, yo. And, as awkward as it feels to admit it, I do really love nature. I adore animals, beautiful landscapes, and the all of that. That is one of the reasons I've always had a small wish to live in Montana. At least, to live there for a while. CloudFyre 848 April 10, 2013 Share April 10, 2013 They nature loving Bronies? They're probably outside...loving nature! On a serious note though, I enjoy the great outdoors. I don't actually get out and go hiking that much, but I hate the idea of living anywhere other than where I am right now, in the thickly forested, mountainous regions of the northwest U.S.
NightOwl 912 April 10, 2013 Share April 10, 2013 I love nature and animals. Very peaceful and relaxing they can be. I wish I lived a bit closer to the countryside where I live as I live in the city . I think Fluttershy is amazing when it comes to animals . Signature by me avatar by Azura.
Phoenix237 353 April 10, 2013 Share April 10, 2013 (edited) I love nature I love animals Once when I moved out of the city and into the country side, I found myself more relaxed and felt more comfortable, but then I moved back for various reasons I won't bother to explain I even planted some trees in my yard (desert environment makes it hard to grow, but with enought care things get done) Also Fluttershy is my favorite. She competes with others in my favorite mane six spot, but she always wins in the end. Edited April 10, 2013 by Phoenix237
SasQ 1,376 April 10, 2013 Share April 10, 2013 (edited) Nature is also a great teacher, if only people would like to look at it more closely and actually were more willing to learn something from it... 9_9 In Nature, there is no thing like "garbage": everything is useful for something and is highly reused. Matter circulates in it, making full cycles, and the energy flows along with it through the whole ecosystem. These cycles are vital for life and keeping it all going on and on. But what people do? Produce tons of garbage, which they cannot reuse in any other way than by just polluting the Mother Nature with it and expecting that the problem will somehow solve itself ;-' There are no cycles in human economy, everything is one-way, just burning everything on our way to release energy. But what do we put in return to repay for all these goods? We're so pride-driven that we even try to "improve" Mother Nature by making genetic modifications (which are actually just random splicing until something works as we want). But how can we "improve" something we merely understand? Nature has millions of years of experimenting under its belt, and how much do we have? A decade? Wow, that counts... :-P For every Nature-lover I reccomend Viktor Shauberger's books and videos about him. He was a forester and he observed Nature very closely, and he figured out many of its secrets. Quilava 1,290 April 10, 2013 Share April 10, 2013 Fluttershy is definitely one of the Mane 6 who I can relate to the most (her, and 1st episode Twilight Sparkle). We share a lot of the same characteristics, especially our shyness. I have always had a particular spot in my interests for nature which is why I can never really see myself living in a big city, I much prefer the suburbs in the mountains/valleys. Though my area can be very bleak during the winter, except for the pine/evergreen trees that dot the landscape, the late-summer/autumn times are the best. 1 ^~Signature by Me~^ ~^Click on the Image above for already made signatures/graphics^~ Request A Signature | Have a Question? | Signature Tips/Tricks
Wingnut 6,992 April 10, 2013 Share April 10, 2013 So are you looking for Fluttershy fans, nature lovers, or both? Fluttershy is my favorite pony but as far as Fluttershy fans go in this forum, I’m just a dime a dozen. Have you heard about Comrade Dimitri yet? He’s the most famous Flutter fan on this site. When God gave humanity dominion over the earth, we were also given the intelligence to manage natural resources wisely. Like any other great privilege, this one has an enormous responsibility attached to it. As harsh as we are on our environment, earth is actually more resilient than Equestria. Developed areas don’t need human intervention to keep critical cloud cycles and ecosystems going. Protecting the environment while accommodating the needs of a growing human population will continue to be a daunting challenge. I’ve always loved animals. While I’m not a "whisperer" like Fluttershy, I do have a pretty good way with them. Friends and relatives can attest to this. I’ve befriended many dogs and cats who are normally very leery of strangers. I don’t feel the need to live on the verge of a forest for a sense of purpose or connection to nature. City life is my personal preference but there are plenty of places near and far I can visit to enjoy flora and fauna. Growing up I was fortunate to have an aunt and uncle with a farm in New Jersey and this was a great place to connect with animals. Then there are real life Fluttershies such as animal rescue teams. They do all kinds of amazing things to help creatures like sea lions, porpoises, turtles, and more. I sometimes wonder, had I chosen a different path earlier, whether I'd be able to help in a direct way like that.
