Literally the highlight of my night! I would have never thought that we bronies would be mentioned on SNL. With this, I believe we'll get a few more bronies.

Seth Myers delivered it beautifully. Now if only Stefon can make an appearence and promote us. That would be awesome..also Melissa McCarrathy as guest host xD

Holy crap, there's a thread about this already?

Nah, I didn't watch it, nor do I have any idea what SNL is, but I heard someone mention this on another chatbox, just a few minutes ago.

Jeez, you guys are fast.

This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

SNL is Saturday Night Live. It's a sketch comedy show like Mad TV. It's hosted every Saturday night in New York City with a guest celebrity doing sketches with a band or singer doing 'intermissions' if you will.

Ugh! I don't get SNL,Is there a youtube clip of it anywhere? My overseas friends were freaking over it and it's super exciting!Stupid overseas tvimg-1347177-1-blush.png

Sadly it'll be on Hulu but you can always torrent it later possibly! It wasn't anything epic just a 5-10 second mention during their news portion.

I've been trying to find a clip of it to upload to YouTube for the past 2 hours, but I can't find it! I'm looking, I'll paste it here as soon as I get it.

And yes, I laughed. Also, I don't know if anyone here watches Game Of Thrones, but I loved that part. :)

Am I the only one who noticed that the joke is basically about bronies being pedophiles?  Not sure that's something to be excited about. huh.png

I don't think so..i've seen Weekend Update enough times to know that if Seth Myers were gonna call us pedos he would have done just that without sugar coating anything.  He was poking fun at the fact the target audience is 20-30 something men when it's directed at 6 year old girls.

I just uploaded a higher quality one, I was re-thinking it, but I rather not have to watch a video of a video for it. I think we should take it as a joke rather than an insult though.

??

He implied that a brony is someone you don't want to let your kid get too close to.  Like a hobo or that creepy guy in the park with a trench coat.  That was the joke, and it is kind of funny.  It just seemed odd to me that a lot of people were excited about it, despite it being at our expense.

He wouldn't gone a lot deeper if he wanted to make us look bad. His implications like I said we're to the target audience that jumped aboard not us being pedophiles..you're reading between the lines a little.

Oh, Seth, I'm sorry, but you're just not funny, and I far prefer the late 80s-early 90s glory days of your show.

I appreciate the shout-out, but I don't really get the joke.

Just watched the video.

Ugh.

I'm less directly offended by the statement and more disappointed that the most widely seen shout out we've gotten so far jokes that we're pedophiles.

Well, I for one am just glad we're getting out there. We all have to laugh at ourselves from time to time, and I actually laughted at this. I take no offense at this at all.

Haha, I knew it'd get mentioned eventually. This reminds of how much time I spent watching SNL. I've never watched many recent ones.

I enjoy having a good old laugh at myself and don't care what other people think of me, but if this spreads and everybody starts talking about us being pedophiles it would just get annoying, and the joke was not really not that funny BTW.

Bronies mentioned on Saturday Night Live?

I guess, the comedy and hate towards is really getting old. But I did get a little chuckle out of it, so I guess us being mentioned on a show is okay but when it makes fun of us. It's good not to care.

It's all in jest, it gave me a nice chuckle. Weekend Update is often the best part of the show. I often don't get the chance to catch SNL, I usually work until it's nearly over.  sad.png It's not as good as it used to be, but still worth tuning in to IMO.
