Lorcan watched as Solara flapped her wings. "They are beautiful" he thought out loud hoping that she didn't hear. Lorcan started flapping his wings but soon stopped. "Wow you are beating me! Careful, I might pull something out of my trunks" He said but quickly realised what he said. "Bah! I don't mean it like that!" [geez I sounded like a deviant right than] Lorcan thought.

She tried not to laugh, and ended up throwing herself at the water, bursting out in laughter after what Lorcan had said. She landed in the shallower bits, on her side. She came up, gasping for air, but laughing.

Accent's ears had picked up what Beat was trying to say. Immediately, she looked a little pissed, but she calmed herself once he had corrected himself. Well, at least he was trying.

 

"Morning, Beat... How did you sleep last night?", she asked, sipping some more of her coffee.

 

Beat sipped his own cup of coffee (I think I did say he grabbed a cup...right ?) and sat down across from Accent. "I slept pretty well...you ?" He asked.

Max finished, and brought himself next to Star, as they continued flying high above the island.

"The Union of Love Struck, Sing Songy Stallions would like to extend a formal apologize to any injury or hearing impairment caused by the following musical number." Max said, half joking, half covering up his embarrassment. The first time he sang in front of somepony, and it felt like the wait for SAT scores. He simply looked forward, not sure what to expect.

Star laughed. "I think you're a wonderful singer." She said, flying close enough to nuzzle his cheek before looking up ahead at the end of the island which was slowly coming closer.

"Currents... and we're in the ocean. Ocean currents. Wow, Solara, you honestly out-did yourself this time. Seriously, you've never made a joke that good."

(It's funny to see one relationship that takes off immediately, and then a second one with one pony fighting it tooth and nail  )

Max looked down, examining the island for a good spot to land, and to mask his bright red cheeks. Every time he had doubt, fear, or insecurity, Star always made it better. Always made him feel good about himself, a drastic change from his childhood. He would make it up to her some day, on that he swore. He spotted a waterfall, with a nice flat clearing at its base.

"Found a place to set up. Follow me." Max slowly made a turn and descended upon the island, he landed softly in the clearing, standing half-in-half, from the waterfall, and the jungle beyond. All he could do was fall flat on his back, barely feeling a thing under the cloud soft grass. He couldn't help but laugh lightly. 

"I just...sang, in front of somepony. My marefriend. And she liked it. These past few days have turned everything I believed about myself on its head." He said, letting out a happy sigh.

Star followed him down to the ground and landed next to him. She giggled as he lay back on the ground and she lay down next to him, nuzzling his cheek. "I'm happy you're happy." She said, before looking over at the nearby waterfall. "What a beautiful place. That Waterfall must be Spring fed from someplace. I bet its perfect for swimming." She said.

Max returned the gesture, nuzzling Star just in front of the ear. He glanced at the waterfall, looking towards the top.

"I bet it is...I think I saw a spring of sorts on the way down. Perhaps that's the source." He said in a low tone. His mind gave the command to stand up and go investigate, but his heart quickly put a stop to that order. He wanted to go look, but laying here with Star was just so...perfect, that he didn't dare cut it short. He moved in closer, taking her hoof into his own, simply soaking in the moment, wishing it could last forever.

"Beats sitting at home all day." Max said, thinking to his life back home. It isn't a bad life, necessarily, but it was lonely. He wondered how this would progress after the vacation. He dreaded the thought of leaving. But at least he wouldn't be going at it alone now. He pushed the thoughts from mind, and allowing himself to just relax. While he was thinking, his subconscious took over, and Max found himself so close to Star they were touching now. He didn't pull away though, and actually let his head lean over, so that he was facing Star.

She laughed. She then stood up so there was barely any water under her, and she shook her mane, and her flank a little. This gave her the effect of what one sees on those Maybelline hair ads, with a little more flank than usual. She was trying to see if Lorcan liked her or not, as she liked him a little.

Max, now turned on his side, wrapped his forelegs around Star, kissing back deeply. He held her tight, wanting to get a close to her as he could. He kissed her until his lungs screamed for mercy, desperate for air. He broke the kiss, but not the embrace, and he found himself panting lightly, looking Star in the eyes.

"I love you." He said. His mind, the spastic thing it is, raced around madly at that declaration. It came to the conclusion that, while what he said was true, he should at least elaborate.

"For the longest time, I thought myself a loser. Somepony with no chance of true happiness. I still helped people when I could, even if the gesture would never be returned. But then I meet you. A pony that liked me for me, who challenged the beliefs I had of myself. A pony who I could be with, and be free from criticism. Star, I love you." There it was. Everything was laid out onto the table. Normally Max would be worried that he would soon face rejection and sorrow, but not a fiber in his being believed that Star would do that. He believed in her entirely. And it felt good.

Scamps watched as Lorcan just ran away, avoiding he rquesyion. "Some friend he is, just leaving me," she mumbled. She turned around and saw Nightfall in the kitchen. Yes! Other friend! Now I'm not alone!

 

She trotted up the him. "Hey Nightfall," shd said. "You're singing voice...err, humming voice, I guess, is beautiful. It sounds great." She blushed a bit and did a cheesy grin while scratching her mane. Leave to me to start a conversation awkwardly. This is why I don't get out much...to avoid this.

 

 

(Okay, so I was originally going to go for Lorcan and see which of the two she would end up with, but seeing how if Scamps and Lorcan were together, Solara and Nightfall would automatically betogether, I'm going with Nightfall. So expsct a lot more awkwardness.)

Star gave Max a caring look as she gently stroked his cheek with her hoof. "You're the nicest, sweetest colt I have ever met. I love you too, Max. You know...you've also done allot to help me...I am really self conscious about my zebra side...I used to get made fun of but now ponies just whisper about it behind my back. I never really thought somepony would be so nice to me...but I was wrong. I love you so much." She said, pulling him into a tight embrace.
She wouldn't admit it...but a few tears of joy slowly rolled down her cheeks...she had never felt this happy in her life.

At this moment, Max achieved a state of happiness that he never thought possible. It brought one or two happy tears to his eyes. The feeling was overwhelming, the apex of joy. And it was all because of Star. Max had just met her yesterday, but now felt like he couldn't go on without her. He felt like his life, his happiness, was now linked to Star's. And that's when he knew what he would do. Make her happy. He would dedicate his life to it. Max pulled his head back and kissed her deeply, driven by his new revelation, and happiness. He held her close, stroking her back gently.

She grinned, and trotted further down the beach after flicking her tail against his chin again.

She kept trotting at speed, but eventually slowed down so that she was trotting next to him. She leaned into him, then, only very faintly blushing, looked up at his face and grinned.

Star sighed happily through her nose as Max gave her another kiss. She closed her eyes and played with the ends of his mane, also gently stroking his back and neck. 

It was like her and Max were the only two ponies on earth, Not a single sound or thing to interrupt them. She was in utter bliss.

Maybe the weather is getting to her? Lorcan thought as he continued onward. "So, do you want to do some more beach stuff? Or would you like to try the jacuzzi?"
