Star nodded. "I'm fi-AH." The root broke and Star quickly clung to the bank...but it was no use, the current slowly pulled her farther down towards the waterfall. She attempted to open her wings but they were soaking wet. "MAX." She called, as the current got stronger.

(I see your drama, and raise you suspense. I hope what I'm about to do is OK.)

"STAR SONG!!" Max yelled. Before he could react, she was pushed off, falling fast.

"BUCK!" Max dashed straight for her, a misty green contrail following behind. He managed to catch her halfway down, grabbing her by the hind legs, using what control he had to spin around rapidly and throw her out of the waterfall and into the updraft. Max tried to get out, but it was no use. He simply put his hind legs out and braced for impact. He found himself being flung violently through the currents. Thank Celestia his hind legs weren't broken. He was pushed to the bottom, where rocks gave him several cuts and bruises. One large rock cut deep into Max, right into his side, under the wing. Max struggled to get up, and eventually managed to get to a river bank. He clambered out, bleeding badly from his side, and too weak to fly. He started walking back towards the waterfall, limping obviously as he went. He pressed his wing against the wound, but only succeeded in turning his feather to a vivid red.

Accent listened on to the music, enjoying this a bunch. Man, I never knew how much fun this would be. Maybe Beat isn't so bad once you get past the multiple complimenting and all. He's actually kind of fun to be around and all. But... I don't know... Am I actually falling for him or something?

Beat smiled as the song ended. "Now that...is music." He said. grinning and levitating another bottle of water over to himself.

Star landed on the ground with a small *Thump* But that didn't stop her from getting up and running to the edge. She didn't see Max anywhere until his head came up out of the water near a river bank.
She gulped and shook as much water off her wings as she could before flying down to Max. She landed next to him and quickly got close to help support him. "I'm sorry...this is my fault, I was stupid...oh Celestia Max..." She said, looking back at his wounds as tears started rolling down her cheeks.

Soon Max saw that Star had flown down from the cliff. He breathed a sigh of relief seeing he at least succeeded in keeping her safe.

"Hey, its not your fault. That current was stronger than we thought. Good to-erk-to see that your fine." Max said, leaning on her in the side that wasn't bleeding. He gently lifted his wing to see that his entire under wing and his side were matted in blood, and gave off a coppery smell.

"I'm too weak to fly, I have no idea how we are getting back up there." He glanced over and saw her beginning to cry. He brought up a hoof and started wiping away tears.

"Don't cry, its alright. Better me than you, after all. Plus, I will be fine, I just...need to get...back to the house." Max was starting to get dizzy, but trudged on. He must be losing too much blood. But he put a brave face on for Star. No need to scare her anymore.

Star felt him sway ever so slightly and started to feel even worse. "I...I could try flying you back up the cliff...but I think we may have to walk back to the house from there...ugh why did I have to be so stupid." She thought, facehoofing then looking at Max. "So...I guess I'll fly you up..."

"Hey, you are not stupid. You are the greatest pony to ever live. Don't...ever forget that." Max was starting to get disorientated, and the strength in his legs were waning.

"Listen...I need you...to go...find Lorcan...and get help...I don't think I can...make it back. Be brave, I...know you can do it." He leaned in and gave he a kiss before he fell over, wincing as he landed. His wounded side was facing towards the sky, and it looked bad.

"I promise...I...wont go while...you are away." He said. The world was spinning and it was becoming harder to keep his senses.

"Now...go." Max muttered before passing out.

Star nodded and let out a small squeak as Max fainted. She stood there for about a minute until she realized she was wasting time.
She quickly spread her wings and flew faster than she had in her life. She landed on the beach and quickly ran up to the the house in search for Lorcan. "LORCAN...HELP...SOMEPONY." She called.

Scamps grabbled some leftover sandwiches from the fridge. "We'll take lunch. Or at least, I am. I'm not really hungry now. You ready to go? I hear there's some sort of jungle back there. I mean, the beach is cool and all, but the jungle has beauties of its own sometimes." She put a few hooves outside the house and into the sand. "Ready?" She asked with an adventurous smile.

Scamps grabbled some leftover sandwiches from the fridge. "We'll take lunch. Or at least, I am. I'm not really hungry now. You ready to go? I hear there's some sort of jungle back there. I mean, the beach is cool and all, but the jungle has beauties of its own sometimes." She put a few hooves outside the house and into the sand. "Ready?" She asked with an adventurous smile.

Nightfall grabbed a another of the sandwiches.

"Ready!"

"Exploring in a jungle with a mare, and you're both in swimsuits. Hers is particularly nice- hey, wait, no! Right now, you're only friends, and I know that you're attracted to her, but hold off. Don't say something you might regret. She probably only thinks of you as a friend, so don't mention anything."

He trotted out into the sand towards the jungle.

Scamps fluttered with her wings over top the beach. Soon, she reached the jungle, and came back to the ground, as it was not blazing hot to her hooves yet. "See. Everything has beauty in it. Especially the jungle, if you look at it." A little bug landed on hrr nose. She giggled a bit at it. "Even the bugs are great. Heck, they're the best part."

 

She turned to Nightfall with another smile, and began to sing.

She smiled softly, and almost seductively.

"Not many people comment on my eyes, and even fewer say nice things about them. I really like it when people compliment them."

She finished her sandwich, and looked up at Lorcan.

"Want to spend more time with my in this jacuzzi?"

 

"Few people do not see true beauty even if its right in front of their face." Lorcan said as he made his way back into the jacuzzi.

why is she smiling like that? I guess i should judge ponies smile. I mean mine looks weird. He thought as he let thee jets hit his wings.

"So Solara, im not sure if I asked this before but, where do you hail from?" Lorcan said while feeling his scar. 

He wasnt sure but he thought he heard some pony else call his name, but the jets where covering some of it up.

Star searched almost ever room in the house until she glanced out one of the glass doors. There she saw Lorcan and another mare sitting together in the Jacuzzi. "LORCAN...Lorcan....Its Max...He fell...well...I fell...But he's hurt...and I cant get him back without help...QUICK." She said, running out of the house and up to the Jacuzzi.

 Lorcan's conversation with Solara was cut short by the pleas of the Pony named Star. Lorcan's eyes narrowed as he jumped up and out of the jacuzzi. He flew into his house getting a first aid kit and promptly flying back to the jacuzzi. "Show me where he is. NOW!" Lorcan demanded.

There were more important things going on and crying wasn't going to solve anything. "We stopped by some waterfall's at the other end of the island." She said, flying in the direction of the water falls but stopping to look back at Lorcan.

Lorcan cared not for the cries of the mare as he flew close by. He was more focused on getting to, and helping the pony named Max. "Continue." Lorcan said with an authoritative voice. He wanted to know more about the current situation. Isnt he a pegasus...how could a pegasus fall? He thought as he tried to predict the types of wounds he might have.

Solara blinked. Something had just happened.

But they flew off. She thought fr a moment, then took off after them, trying to catch up to them, not caring that she was still only wearing her swimsuit.

She looked around the jungle, and then back at Nightfall. He is kinda cute. No, not cute, more handsome, a bit of a muscular build. But...I can't see myself going out with him...he's my friend, that's it...

She considered her feelings a bit, feelinv more awkward by the second, and eventually lookdd down at her hooves and shuffled them around in the dirt.

Star nodded and kept flying, just as fast as she had before.
Eventually they reached the place where she had left Max and Star landed next to him. "I fell from the waterfall...my wings were to wet for me to fly and Max through me back up...only he got caught in the falls and he...fell." She said.

Max awoke, lying limp on the jungle ground. He looked around, dazed, and after 3 minutes, he noticed someponies approaching. One came to his side. It sounded concerned. Max finally came to his sense enough to see it was Star, followed by Lorcan, and somepony in a swim suit that he had yet to meet. He glanced up, and saw that the bleeding had at least slowed to a crawl, and only a little came out slowly. It mostly crusted over in a violet substance that didn't look particularly healthy. Max felt a warmth on his side, only to see a small pool of blood had formed around him. How he was still alive was nothing short of a miracle.

"Hey, how's-" He was interrupted by a few seconds of bad coughing.

"How's it going?" He finally croaked out. He needed immediate medical attention. Max really was in bad shape. He looked over and saw that Star had red puffy eyes and streaks running down her face.

"Celestia, Star. Have you been crying this whole time?" He felt a twist in his gut at this sight. He tried reaching a hoof up to comfort her, only to be forced back down by pain.

"I'm going to be fine, Star. I'm just happy you were not hurt. That would have killed me as effectively as any physical ailment."

As Lorcan landed he let out a snort and pulled out his medical kit. "Relax. NOW!" Lorcan boomed as he began to sanitize the area around Max's wound. Lorcan injected Max with local anesthesia to numb the wound area. He pulled out a needle and medical sting and began stitching up the various cuts. "Almost done,Hang in there!" He yelled as he wrapped gauze around the stallion.

Max winced at the needle that shot his side, but the pain soon dulled. He held his ears to his head.

"Right here pal. No need to yell." He croaked out. He watched as he was worked on. He coughed again, more violently this time.

"Say, what are the odds that getting cut by a rock lead to infection?" Max asked weakly.

Star took Max's hoof in her own and did her best to keep her eyes off what Lorcan was doing to Max's wounds...she had never been good around blood, so considering the fact that it was all over the ground...she felt like fainting but knew that she needed to stay with Max. "I'm...I'm sure it will be fine if we keep it clean." She said.

Max smiled weakly at Star.

"Now that your here, I'll be fine." Corny, but true. To an extent. That amazing feeling he has when Star is near was present even now, in his broken body. Even if the outside was mangled, he felt fine inside. Because of Star.

"I'm sorry. That you need to see this. I cant imagine its easy." Max said, remembering that he was laying in a pool of his own blood.

"Wonder how I'm going to recover all this blood..." He mumbled to himself.

Hold on... Did Beat really just say that what she had just nearly passed out from wasn't music at all? Now this was a kick in the face for Accent. She's always confident of her music. She was never disappointed by it at all. But the one and only thing that she hates about people who insult her music is... well, insulting her music. She got up and shot Beat a scornful glance, showing she was very hurt.

 

"Oh? So what I just made WASN'T music? Hmph. And here I thought that you were actually kind of fun to be around without being compliment-happy. I see how it is, Beat.... I see how it is."

She trotted over to the door, grabbing the food she obtained from the kitchen, and turned back to Beat.

 

"Don't talk to me for the rest of this trip."

 

She stormed out, slamming the door and heading back to her room.
