Max began to work away at his prench toast. He had never tasted anything so good before.

"I can tell, this *cough cough cough* ack pardon me. Anyway this is the best prech toast I have ever had." Max continued eating, but then remembered the past question. About his coughing.

"Oh and I'm fine. It's *cough cough* just a small cough. Probably nothing. *cough cough cough* " He finished his toast and began working on hos coffee, pulling back when he needed to cough.

 

(My turn to up the drama. And abuse the word cough to high hell)

Accent grinned a bit, taking the bottle of water. She sipped a bit before ponder the possibilities, wondering what kinds of fun they would perform.

 

"The jacuzzi sounds extremely tempting... Hmm... Jacuzzi it is.", she said, getting a brush to try to attempt straightening her mane to some extent.

 

Beat nodded. "Sounds good to me." He said, climbing out of bed. "I'm just going to have a quick shower if you don't mind." He said, stepping into the bathroom. He turned on the shower and climbed in.

Star frowned. "That doesn't sound like a little cough...you're coughing allot." She said, giving him a very worried look. "Maybe you should go lay down for a few minutes."

Max waved a dismissive hoof.

"You worry too much. I *cough cough* I feel fine. It's not like I'm puking my guts out." And on cue, his stomach growled menacingly, the green Pegasus clenching his stomach. He looked up at Star, an extremely upset look on his face.

"Why did I have to say that?" He croaked. He looked around frantically, spotting a garbage can nearby. He bolted for it, coming down and vomiting violently onto the waste bin. After about 2 minutes he ran out of contents in his stomach, and was dry gagging.

"OK...you may have a point." He said weakly, poking his head out of the garbage can. He leaned up against the counter, puke covering his muzzle.

Star held back a gag as Max turned around...vomit was one of the things she couldn't handle.
She grabbed an old rag and quickly wiped the vomit off Max's muzzle, gagging slightly as she did so. "Lets get you up to your room." She said, helping him up onto his hooves.

"It's not that I'm ashamed. It's just that I'm afraid that...I might mess up." Lorcan said reluctantly.

Now im worrying her...damn Lorcan you suck. He thought as he looked at her.

"Ah, forget about that. I dont want to burden you with my problems while your trying to eat."

"No, no, it's fine Lorcan."

She nuzzled him.

"It's no burden at all."

She smiled and then magically picked up her fork and began eating again. She kept an eye on Lorcan, trying to wonder if he was really ok or not. Her smile disappeared slightly, and she hoped that if he wasn't ok, that he would be.

Max looked at Star apologetically as they made their way back to his room.

"Sorry, about the puke. I don't know *cough cough* what that was about." Max felt drained. He felt like all the energy in him was sapped. It was similar to how he felt when he was near death on the jungle floor at the bottom of a waterfall. When they got back, Max collapsed onto his bed, making no attempt to move or get more comfortable.

"No, no, it's fine Lorcan."

She nuzzled him.

"It's no burden at all."

She smiled and then magically picked up her fork and began eating again. She kept an eye on Lorcan, trying to wonder if he was really ok or not. Her smile disappeared slightly, and she hoped that if he wasn't ok, that he would be.

Lorcan looked out the window and sighed.

Great, is she your personal psychiatrist now? quit being a self entitled martyr of your past. He thought as he held back tears.

"Oh! I just remembered i need to freshen up. My things are in my room so I will go attend to my morning funk." He said as he flew out of Solara's room and into his.

Lorcan looked out the window and sighed.

Too late; he was out if her room. He didn't look happy or ok at all, and she suspected that something had come over him. She couldn't just sit by and let this happen to him.she finished her breakfast quickly, but decided to wait to clean up from last night until she knew that Lorcan was ok.

Scamps walked into Nightfall's room. "Hey." She said, the best greeting she could think of. "My room is currently...." How do I describe this without being entirely awkward? Um....Um.... ".....occupied." She finished. "So, I was wondering if I could stay here. I mean, I'll sleep on the floor...if you want me to. I wouldn't want to bother you or anything."

 

 

(Sorry for late post, track meet and a bunch of homework. Really busy tomorrow as well.)

"I have a better idea; you can have the bed. I've discovered a few foam pallets in the closet that i can sleep on. And I'm not taking no for an answer."

He added the last part to make sure that she wouldn't protest and say that she was fine on the pallets.

Lorcan then closed his door and began singing to himself as he tied a rope around his neck. He then proceeded to hang himself.

She flew at him and went for the rope around his neck. She tried using magic to undo it, but she only got it a little loose. She started hyperventilating and was barely able to get the rope undone. Lorcan had blacked out, but he was alive... Just. She held his body and cried.

Star gave Max a very worried look before helping him get into a more comfortable position on his back. She went into the bathroom and got a cool damp cloth before walking back out to Max. She gently placed it over his forehead before closing the blinds in the room. "You need to get some sleep." She said, walking back over to the bed.

Max felt relief as the cool rag was placed upon his head. To put it bluntly, he felt like crap.

"I think *cough cough* I may have been infected during my time *cough cough cough* unconscious on the jungle floor. I though that mares magic *cough cough* fixed it, but I guess she only delayed it." He was coughing bad now, but he tried to finish his thought before he rested.

"See if you cant *cough cough cough* find some antibiotics. Maybe Lorcan knows where some are." He finally allowed his head to rest on a pillow, and within seconds was out cold.

"Are you my saviour? Will you take away the pain inside?" He said while coughing.

He looked around to see that he was in his room still.

"Did it not work? Am i still alive? Maybe this is a dream or something." He said with disappointment in his voice.

((Since Lorcan and Solara are having a "Moment" I am just gonna have Star search around the house...rather than find Lorcan))

 

 

Star nodded and quickly got to her hooves. She ran into Max's bathroom and searched for a medical cabinet...but there wasn't one.
She ran out of Max's room and down the hall towards the mane part of the house.
She trotted into the bathroom outside the living room and searched there too...but this time there was something. There was a box of pain killers, cough drops, and some sort of antibiotic that should help.
She grabbed all three before flying back up the stairs to Max's room, stopping in the kitchen for a large glass of water on the way.

She ran in and quickly opened up one of the pill containers. "Okay, I read the back of this and it seems like it should help...here." She said, not noticing Max was still unconscious. She gently tapped his shoulder.

Max was in a void. A void of white. Nothing was present. It was complete emptiness. Before long, he was standing next to a pony about as tall as Max, which is rare, given the unusual height of the Pegasus. He was an earth pony, with a light grey coat, long black mane, and piercing blue eyes.

"How you doing Max?" He spoke. His voice sounded like a strange hybrid of Beat Drop and Star.

"Fine, I guess." The green colt said plainly. He looked around him, seeing nothing of course.

"Hey, quick question, am I dead?"

"Nah. Pretty damn close, but no cigar. Speaking of, want a cigar?" He held a cigar that he just...materialized. Max though only Pinkie Pie possessed that ability.

"No thanks, I don't smoke."

"Suit yourself." The cigar vanished into a puff of smoke. He turned to face Max directly.

"So, I took a look into your history. Your life, as it were. And I got to say...not bad." He said, a look that said 'Good work kid.' Similar to that look that a sensei would give his student.

"What are talking about?" Max turned to him.

"I have been more or less an outcast for my entire life. I never had anypony above acquaintance or parent. Besides Pinkie, but she is friends with everypony."

"Yes, but no matter what, you always went out of your way to help those very ponies who shunned you. You always offered your services to anypony in need, with no regard for reward. You are a pony of benevolence, and the trials you endured made you stronger in the end."

Max took a step back. He had never thought about that. He did what was right, but never really thought about it, he just did it.

"And you don't have nopony. As I recall, you have a marefriend. A zebra-Pegasus mix. With a hint of prench. What'd the name...?"

"Star Song. And yes, you are correct. I guess I do have somepony."
"Somepony you laid your life out for not 24 hours ago, without a second thought."

Again, Max didn't think about it, he just reacted. But he would do it again gladly.

"You have lost your temper before, usually violently, and you are exactly Mr.Smooth either."

"Why are you telling me this?" Max deadpanned.

"Just verbally assessing who you are, for the record."

"This is a fever dream isn't it? He mumbled.

"Could be. Could be this is all in your head, or it could be something more. I cant say." He said with a shrug.

"So can I go now?"

"Hmmmm....Yeah, that is probably for the best. Your marefriend is about to save your life anyway. You got ponies to aid, and places to see. Plus, I would hate to see a pretty mare like that fall into depression. But try not to dive into waterfalls anymore."

 

Max awoke to Star tapping his shoulder. She was holding pain killers, antibiotics, and water. He used what little strength he had to grab the bottle of antibiotics, measuring it out and downing the disgusting white liquid. He immediately took the water and drank the whole thing in one gulp, before collapsing in his bead again.

"Thanks, love. You may of just saved my life." He said softly, fighting to remain awake.

Star jumped slightly as Max suddenly awoke and took the medicine. "I didn't think it was this bad...I thought it was just the alcohol or something...is there anything else you need, Max ?" She asked, putting the pain killed and cough drops down on the bedside table.

Solara hugged him tightly and cried over him.

"I can't let you die, so please don't try it again... this is all real, and I'll never let it slip away from you. I'll stand by your side for whatever happens, and I'll never let you go."

She started singing, and despite her crying, it wasn't shaky at all.

"Why do all this for me? I am not worthy of you." He had a hint of pain in his voice.

"I really am hopeless." He said as he pressed his face against Solara. Lorcan felt awful that she saw him in his current state. He felt even more awful that she was crying.

Accent nodded while Beat went off to the shower. Her mane was now becoming more messy, making her a bit more irritated. She needed a shower that would at least give her a somewhat poofy mane or something....

Lorcan stayed silent for a while as he contemplated the words Solara spoke to him. 

She's right, i have money and now it seems i have a beautiful mare who likes, possibly even loves me. the past is the past. He thought as he looked at Solara.

"Your words speak the truth. I have been caught up in the past, and made you worry...for that I am sorry." He said, looking into her eyes.
