I know he's suppose to be a royal guard, but we don't really see that in most of his episodes. What is his special talent? EDIT: I forgot about the Royal Wedding. I think I know now. But Twilight's cutie mark in the shield is very interesting! Even though he is married to Princess Cadance, is he most specifically destined to protect Twilight? So, since he is the captain of the Royal Guard, and the Royal Guards sole purpose is to protect the Princesses from any danger/threat. His talent is to put up protection barriers and protect anyone from harm. I have to agree with you on this, however I had my own thread on this at one point, as Shining Armor is my very faveorite pomy of all time, and I have to disagree with the prescence of Twilys cutie mark within his representing magic alone. It seems its a bit of a family crest type thing, and while yes it seems to be greatly related to magic, the fact that it is his little sisters cutie mark tells me that yes, his talent is his job of being captain of the royal guard and protecting canterlot and the princesses, but his PURPOSE, is to yes, protect the princesses, but above them and everything else, his little sister. . It must mean that he specializes in defensive spells like the massive shield he casted in The Canterlot Wedding to keep the Changelings away.
