Acknowledging Bolt's presence for the first time since he sat down, Windy's eyes nervously shifted between the two mares, and the expression on Bolt's face was downright terrifying. The tension and hate Bolt was exhibiting was very worrisome, and Windy felt that one wrong word would result in his mane being lit on fire. Very cautiously, and quietly, Windy spoke, "Uh, its very nice to meet you Storm... Sorry, I'm just a little nervous... I feel like Bolt is getting ready to torch me alive, and I don't even know what I did." Turning to face Bolt and address her directly for the first time, Windy spoke out nervously, "Look... Bolt, I, I don't know what I did. I honest to Celestia don't. However, whatever it was obviously has hurt you, and for that, I really am sorry. But can you please tell me what I did to screw up? I want to make this right, but I can't unless I know where I went wrong."  He then closed his eyes and braced for his mane to burst into flames.

"Oh. She looks like that often. Don't worry about it." Storm said, smiling, then turned back to Bolt, waiting for her to say something.

Windy's apology was the only right thing that he could of said, and he said it as correctly as possible. Therefore, Firebolt had no excuse but to tell him why she was so upset.

"Well... I'm pretty sure any mare would be upset if they saw someone who they thought highly of kissing some other mare..." She began, but then her voice trailed off. She didn't mean to have come off as so... mean. With that, she looked away and at the ground.

@,

When he heard Bolt's explanation, Windy's jaw dropped. He had kissed somepony other than Bolt?

"What is she talking about? Don't look at me Windy, I've got no idea. I can't remember you do anything with anypony who wasn't Bolt. I'm 100% certain you never kissed anypony else. Why would you need to? Bolt's a great kisser anyways! Great point brain, but I don't think I should use that as the basis of my defense... What am I supposed to say to that?!"

"Uh, Bolt? I know my memory isn't the best, but I know for a fact I never kissed anypony else besides you! I never wanted to kiss anypony else besides you! You're the prettiest, most interesting mare on this cruise! Why would I want or need to kiss anypony else besides you?!"

"Well, Storm might give you a run for your bits in the looks department, but that's neither here nor there, because I know I never kissed Storm..."

Ocean scratched her chin and looked around. "We could...check out the casino...or go see a movie or something. I'm fine with whatever...we could sit here and chat for the rest of the day too." She giggled and looked away from the group of ponies that had just come from the pool to look at Nightfall.

"I'm not sure what to do, so, well... OK, maybe we could go see a movie first, and later maybe try to find Fire and see if we can see a show of hers or something like that."

He looked up, and looked at Ocean, blushing slightly, and smiling.

"It seems you could be falling for her..."

Well. That confirmed it. Windy didn't even get it. It was obvious, wasn't it? At the same time, he did just compliment her. Maybe it was better to just let this slide...

"Well. You certainly aren't the brightest one, are you?" Storm retorted. Firebolt sighed softly. She'd have to say something, or else Storm would tell him exactly what was wrong. "Let's just... Forget it. Okay?" Firebolt asked, sinking into her chair a bit more.

But Storm definitely had other ideas. "Oh. Come on. That won't resolve anything. Storm said, clearly irritated, though more so by Bolt then by Windy. "Firebolt is upset because you were giving CPR to another pony. She knows that you weren't cheating, but wants your confirmation on that to feel better. Honestly, if you don't get that much, you're in trouble when it comes to mares."

@,

Chuckling slightly, Windy adopted a mock hurt expression and turned to Storm, "Wow Storm, your words wound me! Hehe, but yeah, I've been told that I wasn't the brightest before..." As he was speaking, however, a gear clunked into place in his brain, and he realized the problem. Turning to face Bolt, he said in an irate voice, "Wait a minute! You were mad that I was giving CPR to Scamps?! THAT was the issue?? That isn't even kissing, that's lifesaving! I didn't even think that could've been the problem because how was I to know that it was even an issue?! I mean, what else was I supposed to do?" Realizing he was beginning to lose his temper, Windy took a deep breath and calmed down. "You know what? Its all good. It was just a misunderstanding. We both could have handled it a bit better, but its all behind us now, right?" Windy said, looking at Bolt with a hopeful expression.

Firebolt slunk back more in her chair, and looked away more. He was right. Why did this irritate her so much? It did, of course, and that was the most important thing.

Storm looked very irritated. With good right. This stallion had just insulted her best friend. Not only that, but he seemed to know the other pony. Personally. And how he stated said fact meant Bolt knew her too. Which meant that he was that dumb. If the mare had a bit more sense, she'd probably leave, and take Firebolt with her. But both of them said nothing.

The hopeful expression on Windy's face held for a few long moments, the slid off his face when he realized Bolt wasn't responding. As a matter of fact, both mare were now acting annoyed with him. After a few seconds of intense mental activity turned up no results as to why this could be the case, Windy decided the best thing to do would be apologize... again...

"Look, I'm sorry I got snippy at you Bolt. Its just, I got so worried. I care a lot what you think, and I thought I had done something to hurt you... Then when I found out what it really was, I got annoyed... But I'm sorry, ok? Can we please put this behind us?"

Turning to Storm with a look of utter confusion on his face, he said, "And why are you mad at me Storm? I've barely known you two minutes! If I really did something to anger you in that time, then that's a personal best, even for me!"

((Hehe, there's a reason that it says 'tactless' and 'clueless' several times in Windy's bio...))

Firebolt looked even farther away. Even though she'd much like to hug Windy, and apologize herself, her body wouldn't move for her. So, she closed her eyes.

Storm's eyes flashed with anger, more-so then before, and her horn flickered for a bit. This whole situation was ridiculous, and she was willing to leave if it got any worse.

@,

Upon seeing Storm's horn flash in annoyance, Windy's pupils dilated in fear. He had no idea what Storm's magical abilities and talents were, but, if they were anything like Bolt's, he had no real desire to find out firsthand. Scooting away from her a bit out of nervousness, Windy frowned, looking back and forth between the two ponies. On the one hoof, he had Bolt, who was sitting there with her eyes closed, not looking at him or acknowledging him. On the other hoof, he had Storm, who seemed to be an even more belligerent/sassy version of Bolt, whom he had somehow angered beyond belief. And the worst part? He STILL didn't know what the hay he had done wrong! ((Windy couldn't possibly understand that the problem is that Bolt and him both know Scamps personally))

After a few more moments of extremely awkward silence, Windy stood up, with an irritated look on his face. "I don't have to put up with this, you know that Bolt?! I've apologized, I've done everything I could have possibly done, and yet you still won't even look at me! And you, Storm, I have no idea what I even did wrong, and yet you're ready to blast me with your magic! I don't have time for this, I'll see you later. Or maybe not. If you really cared, you'd come halfway in this, relationships are about two ponies standing side-by-side, not one pony standing on the other's head! Once you've figured that out, then let me know! Until then, just leave me alone! I don't have to put up with this emotional rollercoaster! Now if you don't mind, I'm going back to bed!"

With a huff, Windy turned around and began storming out of the dining hall. However, as he was leaving, he noticed the Yin Yang necklace still around his neck. Pausing, he thought, "Balance. I need balance in my life. But Bolt isn't providing that, she's making me an emotional wreck!" Now with his resolve steeled, he finished leaving the dining hall, and never looked back, realizing that after telling Bolt off like that, his pride could never let him come to her. If she wanted to talk, she'd have to put out a little effort and come see him. After a few minutes, he reached his room and went inside, kicking the door shut in a cold fury. Throwing himself on his bed, he laid still, but couldn't get to sleep, so resigned himself to just laying on his bed for the next few hours.

"About time..." Storm hissed. "Seriously. You need to be soooo much more picky. Please. Well, anyway, we should leave. I'll pay. Would you like to go back to your room, Bolty? Or do something? With or without your's truly?" Storm had already switched her temperament to a fairly happy. After all, he was gone now. That was good. Now she could spend the day with her best friend, who wasn't even questioning why she was here in the first place.

But Firebolt was not nearly as content. She looked like she was on the verge of tears. "This is stupid. I'm stupid!" Her mind hissed.

It had happened.

Again.

She had gotten Windy so upset due to her own vanity that he hated her. Absolutely hated her. Which made Firebolt hate herself. And generally she loved herself.

Storm sighed. She knew Firebolt was upset. But she didn't know what else to do, or say. "Bolty..." She began, feeling somewhat guilty. Oh, this situation wasn't her fault, but she was still there, and it had still happened.

Firebolt rarely cried. If ever. There was very few occurrences where her heart was so heavy it needed to visibly show it's sadness. But now was one of those few times. With that, Firebolt ran back to her room, leaving Storm by herself. Firebolt slammed the door shut after her, and lied down, closing her eyes. Not thinking, or saying anything.

((For the record, Firebolt doesn't know where Windy's room is.  Also earrings. ;P))

@,

Unfortunately, Windy soon realized that he couldn't just lay on his bed all day. He was itching to do something, anything! He had to keep his mind off of... her. She'd come around, and if not, well, there were plenty of single mares on this boat who weren't Firebolt. Rummaging around in his stuff, Windy dug out his basketball, and decided to go shoot some hoops in the outdoor court on the boat deck he had seen the day before. Trotting up, Windy started taking some shots to warm up, gradually getting more and more into it. After a while, he started challenging other stallions on the court to a friendly game of 1 on 1. The games temporarily took his mind off of his situation, but only temporarily. After a while of playing to vent his feelings, Windy was sweaty and tired, but not feeling better. Heading back to his room to shower, he opened the door and began digging around in his stuff to find his favorite shampoo. "Ugh, you never can trust that generic shampoo they give you in the bathroom... Dries out the mane way too much! Ah, there you are Mane and Tail! Come to papa... Wait, what's that?"

When Windy pulled out the shampoo bottle from his bag, something else came out too. A small package that Windy didn't remember putting there. After looking at it for a second, he gasped in shock. Those were the earrings he had bought the night before for Bolt! He had forgotten all about them in the drama of this morning. Looking at them, Windy ran the gauntlet of emotions from rage, shame, and embarrassment. Angrily, Windy stomped over to the window and kicked it open, before grabbing the earrings to throw overboard.

After a few long moments of standing at the window with his hoof stretched out to drop the package, Windy realized he just couldn't do it. To throw the earrings away would be to let his stubborn pride win, and he had already learned how disastrous THAT could be. The only right thing to do would be to talk to Bolt... But he couldn't do that, not after what he had said! He had to meet her on his terms. Closing the window slowly, Windy carefully set the earrings back on his dresser. Grabbing a scrap of paper, he scrawled out a short note. It read,

Room 253.

I'm sorry. My door is unlocked. Let's talk.

WR

A few minutes later, Windy had made the now familiar trip down to Bolt's cabin. His heart broke when he heard the occasional sobs coming from the room, and realized that he may have driven Bolt away for good. Not to be deterred, however, Windy slid the note under the crack in the door, then headed back to his room, slowly. Bolt would probably take awhile to come over, if she did at all. Deciding he had enough time, Windy stepped into the shower to freshen up for what he was certain would be the final time he ever got to talk to Bolt.

After a while, Firebolt began to wander around her room. She hated being stuck in the same spot. So much so she needed to wander around the ship. "Maybe I should talk to Storm again. I mean, she's here. And she's the only one who doesn't hate me right now." She sniffed. Storm was literally the only one who didn't hate her right now. She even hated herself. With a pure hate the white of a fire that burned far too hot.

Then she noticed a note.

Firebolt was quite an observant pony. She wasn't unfamiliar to noticing everything she could of detail. It was in her craft. So a white piece of paper on a dark carpet stood out like a sore thumb. Levitating it, Firebolt's heart seemed to have paused. The note was short, but said enough that she didn't need it to be any longer.

Firebolt trotted briskly to the room Windy should be. Her eyes were still quite puffy, but she didn't care very much. Upon arrival, Firebolt knocked softly on the door. She couldn't knock any louder, for some reason. As if her muscles prohibited that.

@,

Windy was just stepping out of the shower when he heard a knock at the door. Freezing up, he gulped heavily before finishing drying off his mane and stepping out of the bathroom. Walking over to the door, he opened it slowly. Seeing Bolt made him Windy feel even more guilty; her puffy eyes were all the evidence he needed that he had really hurt her. Finally finding his voice, Windy gestured inside. "Won't you... come in Bolt? Good luck finding a place to sit, I'm a bit... messy. If you move my soccer ball, you can sit on the couch..." Waiting for Bolt to sit down, Windy tossed himself onto his disarrayed bed, and propped himself up on one hoof, facing Bolt. Beginning lamely, Windy said, "So... I suppose you got my note?" Inside, he was kicking himself for not addressing the elephant in the room, but he felt that as soon as he brought that up, then Bolt would get righteously mad and leave him, and he'd never see her again.

Airy also saw Windy Runner run away from the dining hall. He was in a similar mood like a few minutes ago when he had been lying near the first-aid ward. Airy's eyes followed the stallion until he disappeared behind a corner.

"I'm not sure if we should follow him now... When we passed the first-aid ward, he also ran away from us. I think we should rather leave him alone for a while."

Airy's opinion was confirmed a moment later when Firebolt left the dining hall as well - she also seemed anything than happy.

"I have no idea what might have happened here, but it seems like Firebolt and Windy Runner have been argueing. We have managed to get along with Windy Runner again, but I am anything but sure about Firebolt. She might take it personally if we now got our hooves on their problems."

Airy wasn't completely happy about not being able to do anything for Windy Runner, but it was better thjat way in that very moment.

"There's nothing we can do now, so we should get our day started now. Som what can I get you, Mylady?"

Firebolt nodded, and smiled weakly as she entered the room and sat down on the couch. At his question she nodded again, but said nothing, feeling a bit choked up. She wanted to apologize a million times over, but couldn't. Sighing at her own loss of words, Firebolt hung her head down a bit.

As Bolt continued to sit there and say and do nothing, Windy felt his irritation returning. Why wouldn't she do or say anything?! Taking a deep breath, Windy returned to a calm, balanced demeanor. Maybe Bolt just needed a little... nudge to get her to say something. Walking over, Windy joined Bolt on the couch, and gently grabbed her hooves, holding them in his. Speaking as neutrally and calm as possible, he said, "Uh, Bolt? Is there, is there anything you want to say?"

"Well... Yes." Firebolt began in a shaky voice. "I just..." Her voice cut out. This whole situation was stupid, and easily resolved. But, a lump in her throat thought that was a stupid idea. After a few moments of silence, she spoke up again. But didn't make eye contact.

"I'm sorry, kay? I just overreacted, then Storm, and...." Her voice cut out again. Not only was she rambling, but she was blaming things on a pony who wasn't even involved. This time, though, she did not continue.

"She... apologized... willingly? What's going on? I've got nothing Windy, this is all on you. Your call. Do you want to hold her accountable, or let this slide and maybe have an emotionally charged makeout session? Well, when you put it like that... I always was a big proprietor of forgiveness!"

Leaning his head into Bolt's, Windy murmured quietly in her ear, "I know how hard it can be to apologize. You and I, we're both prideful ponies. Its difficult! And the fact that you did, well, that means the world to me. And yeah, I totally accept your apology. Bad things happen even to the best of us, and, to be honest, most of this crap that's been going on has been my fault. So, is that offer I made of an uneventful, relaxing day still something you'd want...?" He asked, wrapping a wing around Bolt and drawing her closer.

"If we can manage that..." Firebolt said, with her voice being a bit louder. She was now pretty content with what Windy was feeling, as it didn't seem like that he was still mad at her. In the slightest. Which was pretty much all she could ask for at this point. Her body had also loosened a bit.

"Hehe, I think we'll manage, provided we stay away from the movie theater..." Leaning back, Windy reached a hoof around behind Bolt, and, out of her field of vision, swept the earring package off of his cabinet and into his saddlebags, out of sight. Sighing deeply, Windy turned and looked at Bolt with a flirty look, murmuring, "You know Bolt, its a good thing you're so darned cute. I probably wouldn't have forgiven you as easily otherwise." Leaning in, he pecked her lightly on the cheek. "So, m'lady, what do you think we should do in our totally drama and stress free day?"

"Uh... I dunno. Whatever you wish, really." Firebolt said, blushing slightly. Whatever Windy wished probably wouldn't be something she would really hate to do, so it would certainly not be bad to just let him call the shots for now. "Unless you just want to relax, of course." She added quickly.

Leaning in closer to Bolt and putting his lips close to hers, he whispered, "I wouldn't be adverse to the idea of having some good... relaxation..." he stopped with his lips less than a hoofs length from hers.

"Windy, what are you waiting for? Kiss her, let's get this makeout sesh started! Actually, I'm gonna be patient for once brain, like you always say I need to be. If she wants to instigate a kiss, then, hey, who am I to argue? If she doesn't, then we can go relax at the pool or something! Flexibility is key. Wow, Windy, I'm impressed! "Well, that's why I suggested it." Firebolt said, closing the gap between the two by pushing back into Windy herself, though making sure not to pin him down this time. Or rather fall, so she only very gently pressed her lips against his, and closed her eyes.
