"Ooohhh... That NEVER is gonna get old... At least, not for a while... Windy, I think we finally are seeing smooth sailing ahead for us. Well, metaphorically speaking, literally this trip has been quite smooth, no seasickness or anything! Yeah, but brain, that begs the question: What do I do when this cruise is over? I mean, we don't live in the same cities... What will we do? What's the plan? Windy, you leave the plan making to me, and you just focus on not letting your wings flare out again. Deal? Deal!"

 

Continuing to hold the kiss with Bolt, Windy pushed forward and intensified the embrace, wrapping his hooves around to Bolt's back. Impressively, he was keeping a semblance of control over his wings, which were still folded at his sides thankfully. Sliding his hooves farther down Bolt's back, towards where her cutie marks were, Windy hoped she wouldn't object to him being a bit more... daring...

 

((Now time to find out how prudish Bolt is))

Firebolt's eyes flashed open and she gasped softly at Windy's movement. She didn't mind, in all honesty, but her hesitance suggested otherwise. "Oh. Come on. I've nothing to lose. No?" She thought, then closed her eyes again and let Windy do what he wished.

((Aaaaaannnnnddddddd.... Cue time skip of ~1.5 hours!))

 

Windy groggily opened his eyes. He had a seriously sore back, probably as a result of the fact that he was laying sprawled on the floor. Oddly enough, he felt tired, like he had gone for a long run or something. Saying he was exhausted would be an understatement. Still, it wasn't a bad feeling. He actually felt quite happy, glowing practically. It would be nice if he knew why he was so happy about having taken a nap on the floor... And then he looked over and saw Bolt laying cuddled up next to him on the floor, looking quite disheveled. Suddenly, the events of the morning flashed back through his eyes in a series of images that would violate the PG-13 nature of all things decent and holy, so we'll just skip over that bit, shall we? However, for Windy, these memories made him feel elated enough to run to the front of the cruise ship, spread his arms and proclaim he was the sole despot ruling the whole earth. ((Titanic References anyone??))  Gently reaching over with a hoof, he nudged Bolt lightly to try and make her stir.

 

"Wow...................... Forgiveness really IS the best policy................."

At the sudden touch, Firebolt twitched slightly, then fully shifted to full consciousness. Her head was pounding somewhat. "Yea?" She muttered, softly. Sitting up to look at Windy directly, before a visible blush began to run across her face. Making her break eye contact, and shake her head.

Windy felt his face began to burn as well after Bolt woke up. "What the hay am I supposed to do or say brain? Usually when I do... that with mares, its at a party, and either I've left before she wakes up, or she leaves before I wake up. What do I do now that I did... that with a mare I want to stay with? Windy, I have no experience with anything other than downplaying a one night stand. I have no idea how to handle this! Just play it safe and go with your gut feel." 

 

Offering a hoof to help Bolt up off the floor, Windy cleared his throat nervously before tentatively speaking up, "Uh... Bolt? That doesn't... that doesn't change anything, does it? I mean, I know I still like you just as much as I did before, nothing's changed for me. Do you feel the same way?"

Firebolt took the extended hoof, and pulled herself up. "Uh. No. Of course not." Firebolt said, still looking away. She had walked up beside Windy and leaned against him slightly, at this point. "So... Do you want to... do anything now?" Firebolt began to ask. "After a... shower. Of course."

Windy's eyes widened at the mention of the word 'Shower'. Shaking his head to clear it of any dirty thoughts, Windy managed to form a coherent response, "Uh yeah, I'd love to go get some food, and then we could go do something relaxing, like maybe hang out at the pool or something. But first things first, ah, showers. Should we, er, take turns, or should we, uh, shower together to... save time?" 

 

"Realllllyyyy sly Windy... Real smooth..."

"Well, I'll just go back to my cabin." Firebolt said, throwing Windy a "Even I saw past that" look. Really, he'd have to be somewhat discreet if he wanted to do something like that. 

 

Turning at the door, Firebolt looked back. "Where should we eat?" She asked as innocently as possible.

"Oh, ok." Windy said, inwardly kicking himself for his very flagrant offer of shower coitus. "I should've worked the angle of saving water, not saving time..." Holding the door open for Bolt to leave, Windy mused on her question for a moment, thinking about where a good place to eat would be. "Well, I dunno about you, but I'm a bit sick of that dining hall food. I mean, we ARE on a cruise, and half the fun of cruises is eating too much rich food! I heard there is an open air pizza place up on the boat deck. We could go up there and eat, if you like pizza, that is."

"I suppose..." Firebolt said, realizing how hungry she was. She hadn't really eaten anything on the trip just yet, so getting pizza certainly was a good idea. "Alrighty... Sooo... Where do you want to meet? You never said... and I don't really know where that place is..."

Airy nodded. "Actually I am quite hungry. We should get something before they prepare the room for lunch. So, what can I get you?"

Air looked at Scamps who seemed to be... distracted? Confused?

"Scamps... is something up? You look like something is bothering you..."

"Oh! Right, uh, its pretty near where the mini-golf course is. We could meet up there and then walk over. Unless of course you want me to meet you at your room after you finish up, and we could go from there. I mean, mares usually take longer in the shower, so you know, I could probably be done and back over to your cabin by the time your finishing up."

 

"Oh jeez Windy, THAT wasn't sexist at all... Hope she lets that little slip of the tongue go..."

"I'll probably just get some eggs, or something basic like that," she responded. She was just grabbin gher food when Airy posed the question.

 

I shouldn't lie to him....but if I tell him, he'll leave me. I don't want him to think that I don't love him.

Airy just nodded in response to Scamps' answer. He somehow felt that she wasn't completely honest with him.

Oh, come on. Scamps wouldn't lie to me.

Well, what makes you so sure she doesn't? Mares are great liars if necessary.

Airy closed his eyes to invisibly roll them. He just didn't want to hear his brain's opinion. But still... there was something wrong with Scamps, something she didn't want to tell him?

He sat down next to Scamps.

"Hey, if there's something that worries you, you can tell me. Really, don't be afraid to talk to me."

"You could come to my cabin if you want. I mean, I probably won't take too long, though." Firebolt said, indifferently. She didn't take Windy's remark as sexist, so she didn't really acknowledge it, but also didn't give him a chance to say anything else, as she made her way back to her cabin to get a shower.

Inwardly breathing a sigh of relief that Bolt hadn't noticed his tactless comment, Windy hopped back in the shower, and took a nice, quick, COLD shower. Even after a decent amount of time had passed, he was still inwardly doing backflips of joy for what had just happened. Stepping out of the shower and letting out a triumphant cry of joy, Windy dried off quickly, threw on one of his many soccer jerseys, and hid the earring package in one of the pockets. ((I know soccer jerseys don't have pants, but these are pony ones... Just go with it)) Trotting out of his cabin, he headed over to Bolt's cabin, and knocked on the door to let Bolt know he had arrived. "This had better be a relaxing, uneventful afternoon.... It feels like everything's been going wrong or has been too dramatic on this cruise! Somewhere an omnipotent being who is pulling the strings of our lives is having a good time laughing at our drama and misfortune..."

Firebolt was still in the shower when Windy knocked. "One second!" She called, finishing up, and putting on a bathrobe without drying her mane. Opening the door, Firebolt gave a sheepish smile. "Uh. Sorry. One second, I just need to... dry my mane." Firebolt seemed to have forgotten about their date for a second.

"Yowza! She should leave her mane wet like that more... It looks... really nice! " Stammering his way into a coherent thought, Windy replied, "Yeah, yeah, go right ahead, take your time. I'll just wait out here. Wow, you look really nice with your mane like that." Resisting the urge to smack himself, Windy played it off by stepping back from the door and acting as nonchalant as possible. "Go on, take your time Bolt! I'm a patient stallion."

 

"Why'd I let that slip out? Mare's don't like colts who shower them with compliments all the time! They want stallions who are at least SEMI aloof! Get it together!"

"Erm... Thanks?" Firebolt asked, slightly confused by Windy's compliment. "Eh... I'll just put it up quickly." She said, noting her tail to be fairly dry.

 

Brushing her mane quickly, Firebolt messily pinned her mane up. "Eh... Let's go." She said, beginning to exit through the open door, smiling sheepishly.

Shutting the door behind Bolt, Windy's face lit up with a happy realization, "Wow! Bolt, you're the first mare I've ever gotten to know who actually only takes a short time when she says 'one second'! You have no idea how long I've waited before for mares when they said 'give me five minutes'! Now I've got another thing to add to the already long list of 'things that make you that way more awesome than all other mares I've ever met!'"

 

"Is that your idea of how to say something romantic? Sheesh Windy, how did you EVER get laid before meeting Bolt? Uh, we added lots of booze to the equation? Ah, yes, how true that is. Or rather, how true that WAS."

"No, really, I'm fine. My brain is just a little messed up, I promise," she replied a sshe put some eggs on her plate. She sat down at a table and began to eat, and she looked down and played with her food a bit.

 

I can't stand this! I can't tell him, or else he'll hate me! But who am I to keep silent?

 

Scamps reached out and grabbed Airy's hoof. "It's complicated. I wish I could tell you, but you have to believe me when I say I can't. Jus tknow that no matter what, I love you. Nothing can change that."

Now Airy was worried again. Scamps obviously was afraid to tell him about her worries, she maybe was afraid he couldn't take that truth...

But if he at least knew what was up, he could more easily stay calm. Scamps had to notice how nervous he was, he didn't even eat the food on his plate...

Airy just nodded as a response. "I will always love you too... I can't think of anything that could break my love for you."

He wasn't lying, even though he was afraid that the reason why Scamps was telling him she'd always love him was that she'd soon break up again... Airy needed a lot of willpower to hold back his tears.

Maybe he just wasn't meant to be anypony's coltfriend...

She could see he wa strying not to cry. The fact she couldn't be honest was nearly killing him.

 

 

"Airy, I'm sorry I keep zoning out. I wish I could tell you, but that would be bad for noth of us. It would confuse me even more than I am now. And you..." she tried to smile a bit, to show appreciation. "You would support me in anything I do. I know that. But this I habe to handle on my own."

 

She squeezed his hoof in anxiety, a sshe got more nervous. "Please believe me when I say this."

Again Airy just nodded, even though he didn't really agree on Scamps' words. Maybe it was a good sign that she hadn't just broken up with him... but maybe that still was what she actually wanted? Maybe she just was afraid to tell him that?

Airy had trouble keeping it together, but somehow no tear escaped from his eye. He ate a bite from his sandwich and chewed it slowly just to distract himself from his thoughts. It didn't work though...

He turned around again to face Scamps.

"Scamps... if it is anything that has to do with me, please tell me now. If not, please just tell me that it isn't... Otherwise UÍ won't be able to enjoy my time with you any more. I... I am sorry..."
