I done drawed a pony!

Yeah, so this is what I did in trigonometry today. This is the first time I've drawn one of these little buggers completely by memory. I don't know if you guys can tell by now but I'm not so great at different  poses, so he's in the same one as all my others (save Randy Savage). This one was ever so slightly influenced by the character of Hannibal Lecter from "The Silence of the Lambs". The hair was originally slicked back, but it looked weird (not enough up there) so I settled for the pompadour/mullet thing you see here. I still don't know what manner of "butt tattoo" to give him, any suggestions on that would be most welcome.

Haha, well for one thing, it's not a "butt tattoo", it would be more correct to call it a "flank tattoo"

 

Anyways the artwork is great. Kudos to you for drawing it from memory! Super show-accurate and I like the proportions.

Not bad for your first time by memory! I really like his expression, really looks like he's up to no good and he's loving it.

Yeah, I was kinda stuck between that, a bottle of Chianti, and a skull with a crossed fork and steak knife. I guess the only thing to do is sketch one of each up and see how they look.

"Butt tattoo." Hoo boy, you have no idea how much that slayed me.

 

This is pretty darn good, considering it's all from memory. My first drawing of a pony from memory was a little...yeah, let's not go there.

 

As for the...um, ass-tat (pardon the language, I just had to!), I'm not entirely sure what would work. Would a brain with a chunk missing from it be too morbid?

Yes, yes, and more yes. Try all of them, and see how they look. I'm rather partial to the bottle of Chianti myself, but we'll see how they turn out. You should definitely post all of the prototype cutie marks here when you get the chance.

Here's the prototypes.

The skull idea got nixed because I realized 3 things:

1. I can't draw a good skull.

2. A human skull would be inaccurate/weird, this is ponies we're talking about.

3. I can't draw a good pony skull.

That was my least favorite idea anyway.

The bottle of Chianti is the only one I spent more than a minute on, and it's the one I'm diggin' the most. These were just some really quick sketches.

Well, that's two out of two votes for Chianti. Ding, ding! Ladies and gents we have a winner! I'll put up the finished product in a few minutes.

 

Well, here he is, all mean looking and stuff.

 

That bottle was actually pretty difficult to draw on him, considering his head is the same size as my thumbnail, but he still turned out pretty good. If I had been smart I would have re-drawn him larger, and if I had been really smart I would have drawn him larger to begin with. Oh well, he's finished. And that's all that really matters in the end, right?

 

Of course this means I won't be able to sleep anymore, because I know he's going to try to kill me...

Awesome sketch, Jimmy. Don't worry I'm not good at drawing pose for pony neither. Oh yea, if you can come up any butt tattoo just leave it blink because there are some ponies who doesn't have one on TV series.  Hope to see more of your sketch, keep it up!
