I don't think you can compare Twilight and Chrysalis, especially as we don't really know anything about the latter's backstory. And I think it's a bit presumptuous to think that just because if she didn't make friends in the first two episode, she was gonna become evil in the future. Lonely and even more anti-social, sure, but evil like Chrysalis? I think you're exaggerating a bit, especially because you're basically implying no friends leads to evil, genocidal warlord.

Why not? She's Celestia's successor. Even if she didn't ever find friends, she would still have Tia watching over her. She would have no chance to go AWOL.

She would have ended up like Starswirl (talented and powerful, but unsocial), if anything. Like Magic Man said, it's a bit of a stretch to go from not being outgoing and murdering kittens.

Ok, Luna being Chrysalis was a crazy enough idea... let's not even go down this road.

 

And no. There are plenty of people that don't have friends that don't become evil. Besides, how would Twilight just change species? How would she become super princess alicorn changeling? By proving she understands hatred on a different level? Are there the elements of doom that contradict the elements of harmony? No. Twilight was a good person from the start, Celestia had other reasons for starting her training to early.

Someone read "Hard Reset" and its sequel.  That kind of covered the possibility where Twi could end up as a chryssy equivalent.  Personally I think if she had no friends she would have ended up more like Starswirl.

I doubt she would become so evil. The show actually isn't that black and white. It promotes friendship as an amazing and powerful thing. However there is no indication that not embracing it makes one gleefully evil. I think its more indicated that Twilight would have become like star swirl. A powerful unicorn remembered for her greatness, but she never truly realized her true potential.

Not exactly. Chrysalis is basically an evil, demented queen who's goal is well to feed on love for her subjects and herself. Twilight, even if she didn't discover friendship she would still have her mentor. Chrysalis is just pure evil, no doubt about it. Twilight might get stressed, overreact, and usually insane at times. But she would not turn evil at all.

Twilight wouldn't be evil, she merely would not be as powerful and socialable as she became during the series. If she insisted on not making any friends and only keeping to her studies; she wouldn't have become an alicorn, and probably wouldn't even be Cel's student anymore. In fact all of equestia might have fallen if she decided not to make friends because it was Twi and her friends that saved Equ from nightmare moon.

I don't think Twilight would go evil and turn into a changeling. Twilight still had Celestia to watch her and keep her in control, if needed. If anything to what we know, she would be more like Star Swirl. Just practice magic all day and have contact with anyone.

Chrysalis is a sexual predator succubus bug demon. Twilight failing her friendship tasks would just make her an antisocial nerd picking fights on youtube comments sections and making jokes about "Taking arrows to the hoof" on image boards thinking that will make her real friends.
