So...we ran into this problem last time, with the OoC going dead first...

Would it be possible to get some input here? So I know what to do? 

 

Because the main thing i'm thinking of right now is @00Pony, Sanguine has been sent out to Neighagra falls to scout it out for an attack, and the Canterlot is marching on the Empire. If Sanguine doesn't have a reason to return, we're either going to miss each other completely (because I will order my troops out) or Sanguine is going to miss out on the action if he's still out there when Canterlot's troops hit.

I don't know. I suppose that it's all up to chance as to whether or not the spies find anything. They'd have to discover the army while they marched at night, and Swordpoint would personally give chase to them if he noticed them. He'd likely try to just capture them instead of attacking them, of course. Swordpoint no likey killing.

 

Also, for Sanguine, it could be as simple as him arriving there to find it reinforced, and deciding that attacking would be unwise, and then realizing that if it was reinforced, then that probably means that Celestia knows something's up. And if Celestia knows something's up, there's a good chance that the empire is about to be attacked by the army.

 

Just throwing this out there.

 

Although... I do think that it would be completely fair if they were caught off-guard. Like you said, the empire's bound to be reinforced, AND you guys have the changelings.

 

As for the outcome... I wonder if there's a point in discussing how this will end? I think it's more feasible to see who the better strategician is when it comes to the attack.

I wasn't planning on discussing that, I was just wondering how things would play out so I know roughly what to have everyone do.

 

Guess i'll send someone to pull sanguine back then, he doesn't strike me as the kind to disobey his princess

As for the scouts...i'll leave it up to chance. Either they find nothing and we're caught off guard, they find something and somehow manage to return, alerting the empire, or they don't return, and the empire gets suspicious. Either way, Cadance is paranoid as hell...

Well, what's going to happen in my mind, is either the Empire marches and meets Sanguine in Neighagra  falls and we march on Canterlot while they march on us o.O 
Or we send a unit out to recall Sanguine for whatever reason.

 

I think the best idea would be the "Finds out it's reinforced" approach. 

You could easily have him return with the bad news, say it would have been impossible for a task force to take it out by themselves, etc.

Cadence wont be happy about it, but you'll be fine
