"What do you think then, Snap?" Scribe asked "Head into the forest, grab the Element and fight our way out?" He paused to devour a pastry. "Forests going to be crawling with things we'd rather avoid, you want to try and sneak around them? I'd rather try to keep the more vulnerable of us out of danger is all."

"I think that we should all present all of our ideas and vote on which is the better. I'd prefer to be a fair and goodhearted leader that is an equal to all. My idea is to sneak around and try to stay unseen. What is everypony else's opinion?"  Ginger Snap studied the eyes and awaited answers.

Scribe shrugged as he started to pack up some of the food that was sitting in front of the seemingly not-hungry ponies into a saddlebag to take with them.

 

"Sounds like a good plan to me, keep the danger as far away as possible - we cant fight everything in there after all."

Firebolt had somewhat zoned out from the conversation. She was all too involved with her own thoughts. She had been to this forest before. When she was a foal, no less. Well, not too far in, but still... Eventually, her attention shifted. These ponies expected to sneak around such beasts as the Manticore? Surely a jest. She had to refrain herself from all sarcastic remarks, though. For now, anyway. "Most beasts in Everfree base their judgement of what's around them. For example, a lighter set of steps would mean a smaller animal, which would be prey... And ponies are quite light compared to most of them, I think." Firebolt paused, thinking. "Not to mention smell..." Honestly, most of this was based on assumption, but such was most likely true. "But... If I were to use some of my fire magic, I could be a great decoy for all of you to easily pass any beasts." Firebolt gave a sheepish smile, as well as sounding a bit more confident.

Anarchy thought about the ideas. "Well I personally agree with Firebolt. Scaring away the monsters would be much more effective than stealthily avoiding them. Their senses are most likely too keen to avoid them, so intimidating them is the better choice in my book. Obviously Firebolt and myself would be the best choices for that task, with her fake fire and my... well anything really." He grinned. He had researched the monsters in Everfree before, so he knew what most of their predators were. He would probably be able to cast a spell that would cause every creature in the Everfree Forest to hear the sound of their predators.

Firebolt remained silent for a second, thinking over what Anarchy suggested. "Sounds a bit... overkill." She finally muttered. "It's most likely that luring any predators away would be the easier task. Finding the element sounds a bit trickier. Plus, if we miss anything... Well, no one's going to be able to do much. It'd be best if I were to lure them myself, really."

"Yourself?" Scribe echoed. "Is that such a good idea? Not that I doubt you or anything but..."

 

He shrugged, knowing full well that he was going to sound like an overbearing idiot.

 

"I don't know, just doesn't sit right letting you put yourself in danger like that."

"That sounds like a really good idea, and we'll be behind you the entire time just to make sure you're safe! Even the greatest of plans can backfire." Ginger Snap looked around until he heard Scribeshield talk.

Ginger Snap took a bite of his pasty, and a sip of his juice before replying "I think we would be there to protect her, but I know your just being loyal."

"Yea, that sounds fine too, I guess it would be a little overkill to have two ponies just for diversion. So Snap, you said it's probably in that castle thingy right?" Anarchy's stomach growled and he realized that he was indeed hungry. "Actually, hold that thought." He got up from the table they were at and went to the counter. He asked for a muffin, and once he got it and paid for it, he went back to the group and waited for Ginger Snap's answer.

 

((Do you already know which element is gonna be there? I'm not asking which one it is, just if you've decided already. ))

They're all agreeing? Really? I was expecting them to disagree at least somewhat... The mare thought to herself. Suddenly, her confidence was beginning to falter. Though she was certain this would be easy enough...

"...castle? You mean those ruins?" Firebolt asked with an uncertain sigh. It didn't look like anything would be in that castle, really...

Also, if they don't come, I could fill in. With either different characters (Wind Arrow and Storm of Roses fit surprisingly nicely), or I could steal theirs. Cos I tend to not loose interest.))

 

Firebolt grinned eagerly. This was... boring. Moving forward was the only thing she was interested in doing. "I'm ready when you are!" She said.

He polished off a second glass of juice and pushed the remainder of the pastries from the table into his pack.

"Yea let's buckin do this already!" Anarchy was excited. His life had been so boring up to now. It had consisted of having almost no friends and being avoided by everyone because of his talent. He was happy that he could finally be accepted by some ponies, albeit he'd have to earn their acceptation.

"Allons-y!" yelled Ginger Snap as he got up and hit the table with his hooves. He then looked up to realize Ms. Cake and several other ponies were looking at him. "Ooh, yeah. Sorry about that Ms. Cake, and uh... Cheers!" Ginger Snap awkwardly looked around before saying, "Let us all go!" as he ran out of the door.

"Sorry about him, he gets excited easily." Scribe grinned, leaving an extra couple of coins on the table before turning to the others.

 

"Come on then, guess that means its time for us all to be heroes again."

"Alright." Firebolt said, grinning and following. As soon as she had left the shop, though, a sudden wave of nervousness washed over her. Firebolt wasn't fully confident in her abilities. While she'd much prefer herself to be in danger compared to anypony else, she still wasn't too certain this would even work...

"Alright everypony, The Everfree forest is just a two minute walk away if we follow this road. @ So I'm guessing that Firebolt will be going first. If not, how are we going to format this. I'm guessing we all meet up by the old pony castle ruins." Ginger Snap thought about the Everfree, but brushed it off. It seems like this will be the easiest area to traverse with a witty enemy like Discord.

"You're the leader Snap, what do you think? We can all offer reasons to walk up front - your navigating, kind of important. I'd rather be close by in case anything goes wrong... He glanced at Firebolt "Not that I would expect it to, better to be safe..."

 

He turned lastly to Anarchy.

 

"And if anypony us going to be able to predict what that trickster has planned, it's going to be you. So... any ideas?."

"Hmm? Oh yea. Um... I dunno I think he's pretty predictable. My best bet if he actually were to do anything, he would either screw us up with mirages or toy with us and try to make us absolutely hate eachother." Anarchy knew that there wasn't much to chaos magic. There was only so much you could do. So if you were a master at it then it seemed very predictable to you.

"That sounds fine to me." Firebolt said, smiling sheepishly. "I shouldn't be in much danger, though. The rest of you should watch your backs more, and I'll lead everything away from you. After all, someone needs to grab the element. Simple, right?" The mare had begun to doubt her own words. But surely this wouldn't be too hard.

"Lead them away? I don't know... Even without Discord, the Everfree is a pretty dangerous place... Are you certain you'll be ok?" Scribe questioned the mare, genuinely concerned. "I don't like the idea of you getting separated from the rest of us." Seems risky."

 

He stretched, pulling one foreleg to its maximum extent, and then the other.

"Still, you know what you can handle better than we do. Just be careful, ok?"

"Of course." Firebolt said, trying to sound somewhat arrogant, and failing. "Well, I'd much prefer myself being hurt as to anypony else, anyway." She added, quietly. "We should get going." With that, the mare began heading to the forest with a somewhat quickened pace.

Ginger Snap watched her run off into the distance and yelled "Celestia be with you!" and waved his hoof only to have his tricorn hat fall to the ground. He picked it up and put it back on his head dramatically and slowly while saying "Deal with it!". He laughed a bit and started walking into the Everfree.
