[The Elusive Cinder 1,328]

 

Cinder gave her best attempt at a jaunty smirk and leant cockily against a nearby wall. Unfortunately, given her even greater than usual lack of coordination, she missed the wall itself and almost dropped face-first into the ground. She picked herself up again, grinning sheepishly.

 

"Sure, happy to help, just let me..." A loud yawn broke her sentence. "... let me know when you're ready."

Lyona held back giggles at Cinder's failed attempt. " Well, we could leave now. I've already informed the doctors that they tell us when Minty and Impetus are ready to go. You better get some sleep when we get there. It's not too far away either, right?" Lyona asked.

"Just a few minutes away, I'll show you." She said with a tired smile. Home... It seemed like so much longer than it had actually been.

 

It was of course, pure coincidence that the house happened to be within walking distance to the hospital: they had moved in the largest building they could find that was near the edge of town: it happened to overlook the same view of the lake.

 

"Huh... The doors unlocked." She wondered aloud. Before pushing them open and waving a hoof inside.

 

"Well... Guest rooms are on your right..." She yawned again, wandering through a door directly ahead if her to the front room, slumping down on a pile of rugs and pillows

In front of the fireplace. "... Uuuhh... You have no idea how much I have missed doing that."

Silver followed Cinder into the house. He stood beside her as she slumped down beside the fireplace. "She's so tired." He thought to himself. He was about to turn and follow Lyona into the guest rooms when his exhaustion over took him again and he collapsed down right beside Cinderblock, sleep finally over taking him.

Lyona couldn't hold back the giggles at seeing them two lying together. They're adorable! Heh, more teasing material for when they wake up...  Leaving them be, she hobbled to one of the smaller rooms. Lyona opened the door with the last of her strength, and collapsed on the bed face-first.

This is a large edit, because somehow I once again managed to replace a post instead of adding a new one. Because I'm intelligent like that.

 

The rest of this post is now glorious filler that in sure you will appreciate as I add the post back into the story at the correct position...

Lyona yawned, shifting in the bed. She felt sore all over. Dang it. I bet I'll have bruises... 

 

It took her some time to manage the strenght to get out of bed, and when she did, her hunger hit her. Food... Need. Food. Lyona stumbled into the main room hoping to find Cinder awake, but she was still sleeping. Better let her sleep and bother her later. She then sat onto the sofa, eyelids drooping again.

"I require a drink, my payment and a great deal of appreciation for committing such a noble deed!" Smirked Redwave to the crowd, "Brandy! I would share a drink with you all before I return home."

He looked remorsefully in the direction they had taken Minty, shook his head to clear it and fixed the snarky expression back on his face: It was better this way.

(( OOC: You guys should really mention me more! I thought you were still replying! ))

 

Minty laid in the small, lumpy hospital bed and looked at the barren wall. "Redwave..?" Minty asked, suddenly panicked that he wasnt there. 'Where is everypony else? Where am I? Why am I here? Did they leave me? Of course they would.. I'm too useless for them to use anyway.' Something slipped off of Minty's cheek and dropped to the ground. It was a teardrop.

" Are you alright miss?" A doctor had walked into the room just in time to see the teardrop fall. A worried frown was on his face. " Are you in pain? I thought we'd given you pretty strong painkillers..." The stallion mumbled, flipping through his checklist.

" Are you alright miss?" A doctor had walked into the room just in time to see the teardrop fall. A worried frown was on his face. " Are you in pain? I thought we'd given you pretty strong painkillers..." The stallion mumbled, flipping through his checklist.

 

(( OOC: It's okay.. I kept losing the link though. I had to search it up to find it. ))

 

Minty sighed, turning over on her bed, looking out the window. "Not anymore," Minty said, looking down at a ship and seeing that a teal colored mare with a yellow mane seemed to reunite with Redwave. "Not anymore.." Minty cried silently. She had to bring herself to believe it: 'Redwave is nothing but a fraud.'

 

(( OOC: I may or may not have been watching some soap operas lately. ))

" Um, well, we were supposed to escort you to your companions' house when you awoke... " The doctor was rather flustered, not knowing how to deal with a crying mare. " Or do you wish to stay here? But, uh, you have to check out by at least tomorrow." He mumbled the last part.

"I'll check out today. I don't care where you take me. Anywhere but here." Minty sighed, looking down. 'Never again. My parents were right. The world IS out to get me. I would've been fine if I died right here, right now. There's nothing else for me anyway. Nopony would care, nopony would be sad.. Maybe I should find a sword. That's good. I'll find one.' Minty thought, trotting out of the hospital. "Where was it again?"

"You look terrible." Said Scribe from the hallway, immediately slamming a hoof into his face at the implication if what he had said. "Wait! No! I mean, exhausted.you look exhausted."

 

Stranger things had happened than walking in to find strangers sleeping in his home. He wasn't particularly concerned about it - one builds up a resistance to surprises like that when they happen all the time. He didn't even question it any more.

 

"Do you need anything?" He asked.

Another face: this one reminding Scribe of something. Of course, this was quickly forgotten when he noticed how distressed she seemed.

 

Food: he couldn't really cook, but he could probably manage it better than comforting strangers.

"There IS a doubt about it. What if he just left us? What if he abandoned us?" Minty said, looking down. "He probably doesn't even know that we exist anymore. He just decides to leave us without even a simple goodbye." Minty sighed. "Just forget it. I shouldn't even care anymore."

After all that we've been through, I'm a bit hurt that you don't trust Redwave and everypony else more." Lyona hung her head slightly.

" Your parents were wrong." Lyona expression was determined. " If we didn't care for you, we would've left you to die in the forest and not looked back. However, every time you were in need, we helped you as best as we could. Redwave risked his life to save you. He's not the type of stallion to whisper sweet nothings only to disappear. "

 

Lyona's expression darkened. " How dare you say that I don't understand? I was born in a village were pegasi were scoffed and laughed at. I was miserable for practically every day of my life. I didn't trust anypony either, but I moved past that. It was hard, sure, but I managed. You do have a right to be cautious, but not like this. Not when when ponies have risked themselves again and again to help you, to save you."

Face locked in fierce concentration, Scribe returned, levitating two very unstable plates of rather sad looking sandwiches.

 

"Uhh.. excuse me? Roof-mares? You really don't want me to try and levitate these up there..."

 

He assumed that the Mint coloured mare with the Mints for a cutie mark was Minty.

Minty blushed, but sighed. "Yes, but there was still another mare. Probably the marefriend of his. It's wrong to go with a stallion who already has a marefriend. Also, he probably just risked his life to save me since its his job to do so."

"I'll fly them up." Minty trotted to the edge of the building and took the dish in her teeth. "Uh, who are you..?"
